Neon67 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 How do you turn it on off on the mi-8 when it's installed ?
-MadCat- Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I think you confuse an actual IR jammer with the IR suppression systems that can be mounted to the engine exhausts. Those mix the hot engine exhaust gases with cold air ingested at the front of the "boxes", before expelling that cooled mixture to the rear. If they are installed they work independently from any power circuit, they just work  Greetings MadCat Link -> Stateful button commands for many DCS modules
MauganRa84 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I was under the impression that the mi-8 had an IR jammer aswell. ...Sheila rides on crashing nightingale. Intake eyes leave passing vapor trails... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
lmp Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 The Mi-8 does have an IR jammer visible on the external model (it's the big "mosquito lamp" behind the engines). I don't remember reading if it'll be functional in the final version, it doesn't seem to be functional now...
Suchacz Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) I was asking about IR jammer long time ago, but it was left unanswered by the devs... maybe this means they are not sure yet. Anyway, this "disco-ball" type of IR jammer is already obsolete and for the modern ir missiles it may work as a red cloth for the bull :D This President-S IR jamming system is the way to go  Edited January 27, 2014 by Suchacz Per aspera ad astra!
