1) Cockpit text used to be very clear. Now the button and switch labels are so blurry I cannot read them at all and have to rely on memory. Zooming in does not help.

2) The Win-numpad0-9 snap views are not as useful as they used to be. They no longer include the radio consoles on each side of the pit, so quickly getting to these often-used controls and reading the displays is now very difficult. Now these snap views only include the two MFDs and the other key presses are views looking outside instead of inside the pit.

3) Once I got used to the INS timer for activating the EAC I stopped having trouble with that. Now I'm having trouble with it again. Even though the INS counter is at 4.0.0.8 the EAC switch will not

toggle to on.

I like the new eject-chute animation!

I have latest Radion drivers set to 1920*1080

I followed a checklist which has worked for me in the past and those items are in it.

Now I have a new problem. When I press numpad 5 to center my view, the view snaps to an obscure location (bottom left rear of the pilot seat.) I've poured through the manual and keychart and cannot figure out how to get it back to centered forward.

Starting to wish this update had never happened. Everything was fine until then for the last couple years through all the other updates.

What captions are still illuminated on the warning panel?

Just tried my snap view's, don't use them as I use trackir but the seem to be working fine. 7, 8 and 9 are outside but the others are internal. When I come out of snap view with Ctrl-0 then press 5 it goes to center again? The Left Windows key and the Numpad snap viewoption works as well. Have you checked the key bindings to check it hasn't been changed by mistake?

Try renaming your DCS World folder in the saved games folder to DCS1 then fly a mission. A new one will be created. If it doesn't help just delete the new DCS folder and rename DCS1 back to DCS with no harm done. One option to solve views problems is to delete the views folder in the saved games folder and start from scratch.

Right now I have more important problems than the start checklist. For now I can play non-ramp until I get that sorted.

I'm trying to get control of the views for now. After experimenting I was finally able to get the front center back again by slewing the hat back to center, then pressing RAlt-num-zero. None of my key bindings have changed unless the upgrade changed them. If I can just get the Winkey-numpad snapviews back to useful as it used to be would be a step in the right direction. Right now the only useful ones are 1 and 7 which focus on the two MFDs. The other views are useless. I need cockpit area focus keys so I can work the radios and CDU closeup. The fuzzy labels are not helping.

The keycommand shows my LWin-num0-9 are still configured to snap0-9 but I don't see any way to define what those snaps look at. Only two of them are useful to me so if I can change them back to what they were before the upgrade that would be most helpful.

Could you try going to C:/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Config and rename the view folder to View1 then carry out the repair option and it should replace the file with default settings. You can always delete the new file and rename the original one back to view if that doesn't work. There is a SnapViewsDefault.lua in that folder which looks like it defines the snap view points.

Mine is dated 7/22/2013.

Are you implying when you use the snapviews you get the same ones as there have been there from the beginning (the two radios on the left and the CDU and ILS radios on the right?) All I get are the two MFDs and all the others are look outside views.

I did as you suggested and the lua files were replaced with new ones dated today. Nothing changed. The Win snapviews are the same (mostly useless) views they were before the repair. Starting to wish I had backups of the snapviews file before the upgrade. Who would know they would change?

"My View folder is dated 13 Jan 2014."

Looks like they get time stamped to the day you do the repair.

Sorry. I can't think of much else to try right now - other than a complete reinstall! Did you also try the files Blooze suggested. I'm sure someone will suggest a quick fix. Seems strange mine works with default files. There is a thread here -

which mentions changing snap views, defining where each view goes. Might be worth a shot.

"Yes I do. I just checked. Also get HUD with NumPad-5. 4 and 6 are MFD."

In mine, 5 is Hud, 1,3 are MFDs and the others all look outside.

Wish these had not hanged.

They used to be:

1 = left radios

3 = right radios

5 = HUD

7 = Left MFD

9 = Right MFDs

I don't remember what the 4,6 were because I didn't use them enough.

Any idea how to create view(s) that do what I want (snap to a closeup of the left and right consoles?)

If you have track ir you can start out in the cockpit which will give you the F1 view first by default. Then activate a snap view that you want to modify and release it. Then using track ir, get the exact view you want and pause track ir. Then hit right alt + numberpad 0 and it should save it. The next time you activate the same snap view it should now be your saved view instead of the default snap view.

I don't have TIR but what you described works great thanks. What was not intuitive to me is the interface remembers the snap keys I pressed last and saves it with the num0 key After I've moved the view around. Not intuitive. Nice.

I agree, I found that out through trial and error.:wallbash:

Another problem related to these snapviews. They don't appear to save after exiting the mission.

I tried looking in the keys for a command to save the cockpit like Falcon4 has, but I couldn't find anything. The "Save Profile As" lights up but doesn't appear to function in the sim.

Would be a huge downer if I have to set these up new for every flight.

Added: I see the option in the UI is enabled to save user snapviews. I still lose them every time I end a flight.

I discovered the hard way that some missions force default views. If I try to save custom snap views within these missions, the snapviews get saved as default again when I exit the mission even though my custom views worked for that single flight.

I've decided that if I fly a mission and the snapviews are default, to exit the mission and toss it rather than spend hours fixing stuff over and again.

Mission designers, please take a note that as new WH versions come out, these defaults change over the years so when you force people to use views they are not used to, it's not a welcome feature of your mission. Please do not do this.
