Hi Oceandar. It looks like a GPU driver / hardware error ("DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED").

Do you overclock ?

Yes I overclock both CPU and GPU. My other games run normal without problem so I think my hardware is ok. This crash seems to be happened only when I switched to F10 (map view) then back to F1 (cockpit). It didnt crash and stable if F10 was not used.

Thanks

Maybe the F10 / F1 transition is very demanding for DCS, I don't know.

I didn't mean your hardware was not OK, I mean DCS is not always OK with overclocking, and it often says so using the dreaded "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" error. Here's some info from Microsoft about this error. It would be great if ED could follow these guidelines so the log would be more precise.

If you're up for it, you can try this. Maybe if you add 1 or 2 seconds of timeout, the game will not crash when transitioning from F10 to F1.

I tried it and I added 60 as suggested on that link. Just flew in GS almost 2 hours without crashing while switch from F1 to F10 few times but at first I did have a crash when loading to join the server. It seems the trick has resolved the problem.... Well I hope.... :D I'm gonna test it again later.

Thanks Flappie, you're indeed DCS ground crew.

Cheers.

The linked article deals with an imaging software, not a videogame. Maybe 60 is a too high value for a videogame. In case you see weird things drawn on the screen, think about lowering the value a little bit. :smilewink:

Please let me know how it goes in the next few days.

Yes I've tuned it down to 2 and after testing in several server for few hours I can say that I'm quite sure the problem was solved as I no longer have crash. My DCS is back on track :D

Thanks again Flappie.

Cheers

OK, but I mean, what were the values before you edit them the first time around?

I ask you this becasue down below the help page, it says default values are :

  • TdrDelay = 2s
  • TdrDdiDelay = 5s

There were none at all, no TdrDelay and no TdrDdiDelay. I had to create it myself.
