  3. This is a video of an air display flown live at LLTM by Frazer. However it is a picture-in-picture presentation in 4 windows, similar to the Kamov video of the real Ka-50. The top left window shows the external view of the Ka-50. The top right window shows the HUD view, including the wind vane. The bottom right window shows the cockpit view, in particular the coordinated movement of collective, cyclic and rudders. One can understand why someone said that flying a helicopter was like dancing on a pinhead!   5. Nis, the training is pretty decent but it does lack in some details where as it gives other details that we as simmers couldn't give a rats rear about. To get the TA, you slew your skhval using the key commands that you will find in options controllers, or using your HOTAS if you have the keys mapped. You then point the Helo at the target to get the TA and ultimately the "C" which clears you to fire. He is zoomining in and out using the Skhval zoom of 7x and 23x which you will find key commands for also in the key command list under options/controllers. He is using TrackIR 3 or 4 which is a must in flight simming so you don't have to use a hat switch on your HOTAS which is imprecise. The training is adequate for someone who has taken the time to read the manual and read and maybe even already mapped them to the the HOTAS. It does not help much if you have not educated yourself in those area's though. This is a study sim which means you have to study this bad puppy to get all out of it. Even since it's release there is still stuff I am stumped about: ABRIS, PVI 800, etc. But I have come proficient enough to fly the machine and barely sufficient to fight the machine. Gotta love the learning curve. If you don't have time to put into it, put it away because it will be a practice in frustration otherwise. In the meantime, ask questions and I and others will help you all we can but you will likely get referred back to the key command list and training a lot.

  6. NismoRR, that's the three buttons to the left of the right shift key, plus the one right of the L key. (I use a swedish keyboard and don't recall what's on them keys on international keyboards.) Cyclic is the stick, controlling the variable angle of the rotor blades depending on where they are in the rotation, allowing you to maneuver the helicopter. Unrelated. The zooming is left of the backspace key. Targeting box resizing is just below the zooming keys.

  7. Metal fatigue is caused by cold working or hard working of the metal...which means the more you flex it, the more brittle it becomes, and the easier it will break. Its more like bending a piece off rebar over and over again until it just breaks at the bend.

  10. I am pretty sure that you won't even get the yellow warning lights if you leave the governor off, but I can't remember for sure. You can break the engines very quickly that way (overtemp, that is...have not tried it in the game, though...would be a good experiment). Correct, on the Ka-50, the governor is a limiting and shutoff device only. The fuel control on the engine itself handles fuel scheduling for the engine. That is, you increase pitch in the blades with the collective, so the rotor slows down. The fuel control gets an N2 indication from a flex shaft, and it knows that the rotor is slowing down, so it schedules more fuel to increase your N1 to keep your N2 stable. The fuel control is a hydromechanical unit mounted on the engine itself. The governors (one for each engine) are electronic boxes mounted elsewhere in the airframe and receive electric signals from a tachometer generator (for N1), a set of speed transducers (for N2), and a thermocouple harness (for PTIT). You can fly just fine without the governors on, you just won't have PTIT limiting or overspeed protection. Or more specifically, YOU (the pilot) become the governor, and you have to be careful not to pull too much power to get into an overtemp situation.

  14. Судя по описанию, я бы сказал, что у тебя инпутом занимается не только джойстик. Попробуй просмотри внимательно назначения осей, все найденные игрой устройства. Выдернуть джойстик и попробовать на клаве? Как вариант - проблема с собственно железом. Тест в панели управления нормальный, крестик движется соразмерно отклонению ручки?

  18. 1. I play Team Fortress 2 and I'm 33... what does that make me? I also play Falcon 4.0 (since the day it came out) among many other sims. 2. You should try Falcon 4.0 and check out the tutorials in that sim (or lack of thereafter, well - really, there are real tutorials if you use the manual in conjunction with the sim and it is pretty well done). This is a study sim. You are going to have to bust your butt with hours of trial and error before you even become slightly competent. They are all like this. Previous experience with other helocopter simulators is a HUGE help though, it will save you many many hours. For HOTAS - download someone else's profile. :) I do though, understand from a newbie standpoint that you point out - it could be more accessible with more interactive training. I basically threw the training in BS out the window and flew single missions over and over or even set up my own free flight mission to experiment with. I learned more doing that than anything else, but, I have hundreds of hours of flight time in other helo sims. Don't give up! The reward is worth it. :)

  24. наверное это я стормозил и вертикальная синхронизация таки влияет на встроеный FPSометр. надо увеличить среднюю сложность сцены, что бы fps плавал в районе 20, тогда вертикалка не будет так сильно влиять.
