  1. Since updating to the 2.9 version of DCS I have been seeing ugly trailing artifacts from behind aircraft and other moving objects in the external camera views. Certainly most notable in F2 and F3 flyby. Below are my PC specs that include 2x GTX1080 Ti cards sli'd and 64gb RAM. I have tried various options in the DCS options pages to no avail and I am currently running the following, which I had no problem with before the update. My Monitor is a Samsung G95 49in Ultra widescreen 5120 x 1440. I have tried running at 120hz and 240hz refresh rate, again with no success. Has anyone come across this problem and if so how was it resolved, because at the moment it's driving me nuts. Many thanks in anticipation.
  2. It would be very nice to be able to select a group of units by Left Mouse click and drag the mouse to select those you want instead of painstakingly holding down the Left Shifty key and then selecting each unit individually. Very annoying when you've click on twenty units and miss the next one so you have to start over again. Most useful if you have a large force that you want to place somewhere else on the map or duplicate.

  4. I didn't know Tom Selleck flew Phantoms before he was 'famous'
  5. Sorry guys, I know we keep asking, but is there any more news about the skin templates for the MiG-19. They would be gratefully appreciated.
  6. There can be nothing more frustrating when designing in the mission editor to find you've placed some artillery or tanks in a wood to conceal them, only to find in mission they've all got trees growing out of them. I'd like to see something like the designer in Arma 3, where there is a 3D view as well as the map designer. The other thing the would make things that little easier would be to have a resizable options menu. Something where you can drag to size it and also reorder the columns so that you can have the most uses together for editing. We can only hope.
  7. I had been looking at ways to improve my flying and warthog joystick control when I came across Warthog Extensions by Sahaj. Everybody who had purchased one gave a really good review and explained how it at improved the sensitivity of the TM Warthog joystick. I wasn't sure which one I wanted so ordered the discounted pack of four extensions in black. These were promptly posted by Sahaj, who was really helpful throughout the entire buying process. They took just under a month to arrive from Poland to the UK but I think much of this time was due to customs clearing. Postage prices were really good. I'm currently trying out the 15cm extension mounted on a Monstertech extended desk mount. The small amount of resistance you get with the cherry joystick has all gone and makes fine movements a joy to use. My helicopter flying has improved no end. Next thing is to be able to do my first inflight refuelling. I am currently flying with a centre joystick position so the ability to slightly twist the joystick to keep my wrist straight is a great advantage. Word of warning, DON'T turn it to far or you risk breaking the wires in the cable that runs through the extension to connect the stick to the base. If I have one small, ever so tiny, comment to make the cable for each extension could do with being about 1cm longer. Just to help those with podgy or arthritic fingers to plug the cable into the stick when fitting. I had to use a thin pair of pliers to grip the plug while fitting it into the joystick socket. These stick extensions are a great addition to the Warthog joystick, making it a lot smoother and with finer control. I would certainly recommend them to those thinking of getting one, or even the set.
  8. From what I understand Steam DCS downloads will not work on the game installed directly from ED DCS and those purchased directly from Eagle can not be used on the Steam version of the game. The person giving you the gift can pre order the Hind from the ED site and gift it to you within the payment section. I would suggest, to solve any problems, that they ask for a refund and then purchase the module from the ED site. Hope you manage to sort it, stay safe and well.
  9. Now that's what I call a box formation.
  10. I have not seen this mentioned anywhere on the forums, so hoping someone can help. Since the new kneeboard update arrived I have had problems with the kneeboard graphics not lining up with the graphic frame with resolutions above 1920*1080. I have three ASUS 4k monitors driven by two Asus GTX1080Ti grap4hics cards. I rarely use all 3 monitors to play DCS and mainly use the centre monitor in 1440 or 2160 resolution to play the game. The screen grab below was taken at 2560*1440 resolution. At 3840*2160 the off-set is even worse Therefore all the mouse points, such as drag bar, resize and tabs across the side are not in the right place. This problem is making the kneeboard un-usable. Has anyone else come across this problem and do they have a solution?
  11. Who remembers the 1984 film Red Dawn. The wheat harvest has failed in the Soviet Union, NATO has fallen apart and the USA is isolated. Russia and her allies invade the NW states of America and the southern part of Canada for resources. An ideal map would be the west coast around Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Lots of mountains, a coast line for marine operations and some major cities with airports, major and minor. Lots of what ifs could be played out.
