To build on what Greb said: Put 150-200rds on target. These are modern main battle tanks, they can take hits from certain ATGMs and survive, your little puny 30 mike mike rounds aren't going to do a thing unless they hit en masse (or you get really really lucky). Get in close, <1NM, from the rear or from a very steep dive. Hold the trigger for a full 2 seconds and do your best to let the pipper rest on the tank, be patient, even with PAC1 on the pipper will 'bounce' while the stabilizers kick in and bring it back down to your original point of aim. I'm still perfecting my form as well, but I'm getting better. Practice makes perfect.

Man, with the GAU8 in LOMAC i could smoke T80's like cheap cigars. It's much harder but still doable in DCS:WH. More like a fine A.Fuente when you get one to go up in smoke :D

They do seem quite combative in here today... The internet makes it hard for people to get their real point across, its too easy to misconstrue things. Apparently it's serious business in here.

I just want to clarify my post  Some of you are awfully quick to jump on someone... No ill will intended towards ED. Seriously, it was taken out of context I guess. It was intended as humor. I meant that to mean: its a bit like throwing a scrap of meat to a dog that has a long history of begging at the table when it has been told to go wait patiently in the corner for it's next meal like it should. I am more than happy with the way ED is handling the beta and development process, I was entirely ecstatic to get the beta when we did and I will patiently wait (without posting stupid "where is the update" posts) as long as I have to until the next beta or even the final version is released. Thank you ED for your hard work and I truly appreciate you giving us the beta. We all good here guys?

ED has balls posting something like that after all the "where is the beta update" posts over the last week.
-
Because its a Beta....

Yeah I don't think a lone A10 is capable of taking out a TOR battery, the TORs are NASTY against anything that flies within it's envelope (including Mav's, cruise missiles, HARMs, etc). You would need at least a 3 or 4 ship flight of A10s concentrating fire on the launchers OR a flight of F16's/F18's doing SEAD.

The AC-130 would be entertaining for about 2 hours before it got repetitive. I still vote for the Kiowa! -

I would really enjoy a Kiowa, or even a Kiowa/Little Bird twin pack. Would be a fun bird to fly with a bit of a different twist on things than the normal Apache/Havok/Hind stuff. -
You already have the ability to do your loadout and such before a mission, click the "mission planner" at the bottom of the screen.

^^ completely understood, however the rest of the world *does* use credit cards on a regular basis so if a company decides they will only accept credit cards its up to the German customers to make the adaptation, *not DCS* to conform to the needs of a very small minority. I can feel your pain, I've been in similar situation where I had to go and get a postal Money Order or do a Money Wire instead of just using my credit card from home... it works both ways.
-
Looks like you will have to wait until the box copy hits the stores then if you are unwilling to go out of your own way to get the thing you want.
-
So don't get a credit card, just get a visa "bank card" or something similar. 21st century people...

The smart money for ED is obviously in a multi-role single seat jet. F-16c of FA-18c. It appeals to the broadest audience, info is out there, single seat, and they are used by many many countries around the world. -
How will the anti-missile AI/systems/capabilites of the AAA/SAMs be modeled? There was an enormous amount of controversy over this in FC1/2 because of the overly high PK of the SAMs (some more than others, ie: optical tracked Strela or the super-human 2S6 operators) vs Mav's/ARMs. We all know that in todays world with current capabilities of many Russian SAMs that it is very possible, though not necessarily as effective as they were in FC. Just curious, having my Mav's plucked out of the sky by a Tung is absolutely infuriating. Perhaps realistic, but if it happened less often, it would be much more tolerable. Chris

F/A-18C for my money. True multi-role single seater, tons of information available, carrier ops, etc. You name it and the Hornet can do it. The F-16 has been done to death already and while I wouldn't complain if that was the choice, I think the F/A-18C is the ideal "next step" The F/A-18 is also used by numerous other countries as well. -
I also was unable to get the RQ-1A to fire on a target.
-
When it all comes down to it dude, ED owes you absolutely nothing. It's YOUR choice whether to spend the money on the product that they put out. If you dont like it, don't buy it. Period. Now get over yourself and start acting like an adult.

No offense, but dream on man, the AESA radar workings are so classified, not even santa claus knows what's up. I suppose this is a "wish list" -
Anyone want to try my A10 mission?
gekoiq replied to gekoiq's topic in User Created Missions General
Now with voice overs! My friend and I are still working on our "radio voices" take it easy on us :) A-10A Mission1.miz -
Unfortunate but understandable. Can't wait for A10c. I anxiously await being able to drop a GBU-12 onto a T80.

What kind of FAC options will there be with FC 2?
gekoiq replied to Speed's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You can set up the missions with a number of waypoints designated as "Initial Points" or IPs. When in game you can use the map view and the distance tool to get a fairly precise location on the target relative to your current position. In the BS I assume you can range a point on the ground or target with the laser shkval. Go into map view and use the distance tool and use your heading and distance to target to find the area on the map. Then use the distance tool to get a heading and distance to the target area from one of the IPs. Call out the IP, heading from IP and distance to target from the IP to your friends in the A10/Su25 and they should be able to fly to the IP (waypoint) and use your provided heading and distance to target to find it. Awkward at first, but it's definitely doable.
