Read through those reports... They say this 'Flag was designed to test the F35/F22/Etc against modern advanced threats, it does not specify which, but they pretty much spell out that this was a brutally difficult mission in terms of surface and air threats, near impossible for legacy 4th gen fighters to accomplish without the F35 and F22 to kick down the door.

All Hornets have an A2G radar. Work is progressing, we've been getting juicy little tid-bits about the hornet specs the last week or two so it's definitely getting closer, still hopeful (but not holding breath) for early release this year.

Despite you saying you aren't trying to start a flame war or anything, that's an incredibly poor, arrogant attitude. Only people who are military or former military should have an interest in military hardware and military aviation? Really? As probad and goldsmack said above me. Serving in the Military and having an enthusiastic appreciation for military hardware are two very, very different things, which sometimes overlap. Military aviation is the epitome of purpose built, absolute efficiency at a given task. "We need a plane that is very, VERY good at killing things on the ground, don't care how ugly it is, just make it happen" and *Poof* the A-10 is born. Things like that is why people like us, who have never served, appreciate military hardware. On top of that, many of us also have family and friends who have served, flew, sailed, lobbed mortars, etc, etc. Your sense of entitlement and elitism: that only *you* should be able to be a military flight enthusiast because you are (planning to be) a military pilot, is not something that's going to win you many friends. But I suspect you are still young, and will out-grow this idea once you realize that not all people are in a position to, or have the ability to, or even don't *want* to serve in the military because there were other things in life that we wanted to pursue. Yet we still have *enormous* respect (and envy in the case of pilots) for those who do. I certainly don't mean to belittle you, but you might want to sit down and rethink that attitude. That being said, good luck in your endeavors in flying, and good luck with your dream of military aviation. It's going to be a long, hard, road I'm sure. Keep at it and don't give up dude, it'll be worth it, you will get to fly the most lethal, highest performing, machines on earth.

I would like to see a 4th gen Russian jet in DCS fidelity, knowing that it must be difficult to get enough info, it's something that hasn't really ever been done in the flight sim world and I ache to fly an accurate Su-27 or Su-30 (prefer the -30, more of a true multi-roll), even if it's a relatively early model, obviously we're not going to get a hyper-modern gen4.5+ version. I think a DCS level Su-27sm or equiv Su-30 would be a huge draw- However I think the Mig-23, Mig-27 or Su-24 would be worthy additions too, if they could model a relatively recent upgrade/version of them they would fit in well alongside the A10, F18, etc. The F-16C Block 52/60 would of course be welcomed and the F-15E is a longtime favorite as well. Early block super-bug perhaps? I'm just really really excited for the F-18c, love the jet, love the mission, love Naval aviation, everything about the F-18c module is going to bring a HUGE amount of content to the game world.

^ I bought A10C in early beta, played the crap out of it. Then stopped for various reasons (mainly life) now I got myself a better setup (and finally a TM WH) and I'm really enjoying it again, the new aircraft on the horizon are really exciting to me and the massive updates and progress recently (and F-18c) are what really drew me back in.

Really tough between 4th gen multi-role fighter and Dynamic Campaign. I had to go with fighter because I want the Hornet (and any other US OR Russian multirole) badly. But a DC is a very close second, ATC and improved comms not far behind those...

I have an x52 pro and have it set up like this: Pinky=shift (set up in DCS, set as just a button in saitek software) Mode switch = no mode select, function as buttons as set in saitek software Stick: Castle Hat = TMS/CMS Silver hat = DMS/trim Pinky = shift mode switch = boat switch (both have 3 positions, it works perfectly) trigger = obvious fire button = fire of course Fire A = MasterMode Fire B = laser/NWS Fire C = CMS consent (start jam) Toggles for Gear/Flaps Throttle: Hat switch = coolie hat/mic switch Mini-mouse = TDC Slew slider = speed brake Clutch button (button on lower rotary) = China hat forward Fire D = China hat aft Fire E = Pinky switch Autopilot on/off Mouse fire = TIR pause Scroll wheel = lighting switch

Agreed, the X32 was hideous. The F35 has a certain charm to it, its beautiful in it's functionality. Kind of like the Warthog really.

Yeah I'm not sure you realize what kind of access to the aircraft/systems they require to do a DCS level sim.... If they did an F35 sim it would be 5% realistic and 95% educated guessing. Now that would be ok with me, I'd still fly it and enjoy it in it's own way, but it wouldn't be in the same league as the other DCS aircraft. After flying the A10c I don't ever want to go back to "educated guessing"....it's way more enjoyable knowing you are doing things the way the real pilots do. Which is why we are hoping for an F16c/F18c *in theory* they are doable to DCS standards. And don't get me wrong, I would love to see the Raptor or Lightning II in a sim. They are the baddest birds in the sky right now, but it's just not going to happen with any amount of fidelity for the foreseeable future.

Decided to throw my mission up on here. I can't get it to play all the way through. It will randomly lock up on me after contacting the JTAC. If anyone can offer advice as to why it locks up I'd be much obliged. Rather standard On-Call CAS type mission. In theory you will get tasked with 3 targets. A T72 (and possibley a BMP2 if the LAV's dont kill it), another T72, and a building with troops in it. It uses transparent JTAC switching to give the illusion of 1 jtac that gives multiple targets. You will have to check-in again after each group is destroyed (sometimes only 1 vehicle). Just follow the simple instructions in the messages you get as you follow the waypoints. Watch the city as you approach after getting the "need CAS message" there is quite the firefight going on down there, lots of fireworks. I've decided making intense ground battles is very fun. Also feel free to change it to "ramp start"... though getting it all fired up and into the target area just to have it lock up on you is rather infuriating. Enjoy. Mission1.miz

Yes, in a round-about-way. Just like the videos show for using JDAMS. Use your markpoints to create a flightplan, load that flightplan, set spi to steerpoint and then cycle through your steerpoints and use the "slave all to spi" command (china hat forward long) voila you are pointed at one of your markpoints and can cycle by using DMS up short (with hud as soi) and then "slave all to spi" with china hat forward long.

Yep, one at a time. The real world is sometimes less glamorous than it is portrayed. Far more rewarding when you get it right though.

Any multirole F-18c, F-16c, Mig29 variant or Su27 variant would make me a very happy camper. Top choice: F-18c

Would these be Multi-Role fighters? A multi-role from either side of the pond would be pretty fun.
