I have tried unsuccessfully to put an LGB on a ship. I use Sea 1 or Sea 2 radar to get a lock on a ship, make WMD7 SOI, go from SP to SLV - it's right on the ship, zoom in, looks good. GBU12 is selected and Fuzed N/T First issue, with the WMD7 tracking the ship so I hit target designate or not with the WMD7 as SOI? If I do, then it locks to the current area on the sea and the ship just moves out of the WMD7 view? So I leave it off and watch it track the ship. When I get the beep I release. Now no matter if I am in Auto or Man (and fire the laser manually) the GBU never tracks the target and misses by a long way. I also tried with laser guided rockets - I aim them up good, but they always fly long, hitting the sea way ahead of the ship. Anyone got this to work?

I have over 20 aircraft and currently when I load each one of the up and go to look at controls, they all live on D:\DCS\Mappings\<aircraft\ then you can see the LUA files for that aircraft's controls - throttle, stick, pedals, keyboard. D drive is a spinning disk and I have installed an NVmE drive at E and copied all the files from D over. How do I tell DCS that all the mappings are over on the E drive now without having to go into each aircraft individually and having to remap throttle, stick, pedals and keyboard directly? Gotta be a file somewhere that remembers the last location of the mappings and hopefully that file is editable!!!!!

[FIXED] WMD7 switch from Black Hot back to white hot and screen is washed out
stoop replied to stoop's topic in Fixed Bugs
Getting close to the end of the year and the bug is still there - any update? -
I seem to still be having this issue which I see has been discussed before a couple of years ago. On cold start when I try and turn on the WMD7 it will not turn on. I have read about making it SOI, pressing IFF and pressing Cage to uncage it, but I can't seem to get it to come on. Is there a weight on wheels issue, can this only be done in the air? I am on the current OpenBeta, so can someone please give me a step 1, 2, 3 ... on how to bring it up?

I can't hit a thing with these no matter how big the target and how clear the background is the missiles will just not hit anything. I have included the track file of me trying to hit the big cargo ship with a couple of them - just flew right on by!! And here is a video of that same same mission miss_802ak .trk

Why is there a piece of paracord apparently holding down the console and tied off on both sides?
-
First pass is just fine, set quantity to 2 press the pickle button, 2 rockets out and kill the bad guy. Fly a circular orbit, move the WMD7 to point to a new target close to the first, T5_press to lock the target, fly in range, press pickle, the rockets do not come off the rails. Is there a target reset or laser reset or something I have to do?

Yes, that worked thanks, the train appeared!!
-
I choose the 'Train Strafe - Horsefly FAC' instant action mission in the Channel map. After it starts I choose the Easy mode. It tells me that there is a train at or near where the white smoke has dropped. I travel for miles up and down that piece of railroad track and there is no train there. ETA: The train shows up just fine when flying same Instant Action Mission from the Caucasus

Hmm, here is a video I shot of the problem. After this I then put a Spitfire down on the same runway and the ground crew comms were not darkened out like they are in this video Mosquito, no comms with ground crew
-
To be honest I didn't check, I assumed that choosing Manston for the Mosquito in the channel map would default to being correct. I'll take another look.

Not sure what I am missing here, but I create a mission on the Channel Map (and also Caucases) to practice cold starts. However when I open the side window and then hit the Comms menu the Ground Crew option is blackened out so I can't get in to choose the option to run the starter so I can never get the plane to start. What am I missing?

I think this comes up once in a while, but want to add my voice if counting numbers of people asking for it will get it done eventually. I would like the ability to be able to create waypoints/steerpoints for my aircraft in multiplayer just like I can when I am in standalone mode.

In some training missions in a variety of aircraft when you are asked to hit the spacebar to continue, it doesn't do anything and you are stuck at that point without being able to continue in the training, especially frustrating when you are quite far in and have invested some significant time up to that point.

I am having trouble launching the C802AK. I keep seeing the crossed out RDY in the left MPCD and in the HUD. I have tried locking a target in sea radar and using DIR mode, but no joy. In the attached screenshot I switched to LOS mode but still crossed out RDY. With Master Arm on, missiles powered on and A/G mode - and in this case the left MPCD is SOI, what else would be needed other than pressing the weapon release button?

When on multiplayer it would be useful if there was an option to only cycle through human players on the F2 map. If there are a few of you working a mission it can be tiresome to have to hit F2 many times to get past all the civilian traffic, AWACS, tankers etc to get to the view of your buddies.

I have a WinWing Orion HOTAS - joystick and throttle. Not sure what happened recently but I lost a bunch of my bindings. I seem to have my joystick set back up but when I look to work on the bindings for the Throttle there are 4 or 5 columns for the Throttle. Only one of them will accept binding, double clicking on any element in any of the other columns does nothing. Also I have been able top bid the throttle and axis levers but none of the 2 and 3 way switched are recognized when I try and bind them. Anyone suggest how to get rid of the extraneous columns and what might be wrong with the 2/3 way switch recognition?

Not sure what has happened with my Harrier bindings, had to re-do a bunch of then including importing Track IR settings, but I can't get my joystick throttle to work. When I move it back and forward it doesn't move in the game, so when I start up the engine, I can't forward the throttle and pull it back after the engine shows 9. Works just fine if I am in a hot/air start Harrier but not from cold start. Throttle works on every other plane I have in DCS so must be something in my Control Options that I haven't set. Anyone know?

True on right display too, though in my case I am trying to switch the map OFF and can't.

The MK-20 does not appear in the DCS ENCYCLOPEDIA weapons section at all, and the UG_90mm, which does have an entry, has no actual text description of the rocket. I can figure out the rocket, but looking at the MK-20 I can't tell what it is or does, anyone know?

I just downloaded and overwrote the openbeta 2.7 files with these training mission files before I realized they were 3 years old. Are they the same or should I look to be replacing them with newer files - if so, where do I get them?

I am having trouble with having the IR maverick lock a target having been handed over from the TPOD. As I then uncage the maverick, and press SS Depress x 2, then SS Forward, to get IRMV I hope to see the maverick cross hairs detect the target and close down around the target. Often it won't, despite obvious contrast between the target and background (T80's in empty Nevada desert - it doesn't get any better than that!) So I can then try to 'force' the lock with TDC Down Action Position, but when I do that, rather than just locking down the target, the cross hairs jump right a couple of hundred meters which leaves me scrambling to reacquire the target. Is this correct behavior? Any way around it?

When you are watching/spectating a fight on the F10 map sometimes the terrain colors are so vibrant that they can make it difficult to follow targets like missiles and other small objects. It would be great if there was a slider on one of the corners of the F10 map that let you 'fade' the background terrain colors so that there is more contrast with the aircraft and missiles that you are trying to follow.

Let's say you go up in a Harrier or A10 with APKWS rockets and are relying on the JTAC drone to lase targets for you in a built up area. For that first target you likely don't know what it is that the JTAC is targeting, sure when you destroy a target it then display on screen what the next target is, but you don't know that of the first target. You also don't know exactly where it is and whether it is surrounded on 3 sides by building or trees all of which will stop an APKWS rocket before it gets to the target. Surely in real life the operator of the JTAC drone would be able to tell you pretty much on-demand what the target is and where it is on the map and allow you to reccy the area so that you could identify a suitable ingress course. Sometimes a target area will have several of those red smoke plumes and you wont know which target is being painted. Perhaps on the target area that a JTAC is circling the target being splashed could be identified in some way - color change perhaps to orange, or a sunburst halo around it or something that gives you a fighting chance to get a rocket past whatever cover that target may have.
