I was flying the bf109 for a few hours tonight and seemed to have gotten a better handle on it. Thanks for the advice. I think one of my issues with control was that I was moving to slow. When that bird gets slow she gets a little loose. I had much better time keeping the speed a bit higher. A couple quick questions. The governor automation switch...... when is the proper time to move the switch from manual (forward position) to automatic (rearward position)? Second, when is the appropriate time to enable the MW-50 switch? And do you leave it on for the entire flight or do you turn it off and on when needed? Third, is it best to keep radiation mode in automatic? Lastly, what ATA do use for combat? Thank you

For those that fly the bf109 and dora

When I fly the 109. If I get in to a prolonged turn fight, I find she has hard time turning right. Maybe I will spend more time flying the 109 and just get better instead of buying the Dora. I was able to get much more proficient at dogfighting with the mustang and spitfire much faster than the 109 though. -
What is your opinion? What is the better all around fighter? I can fly the spitfire and p51 mustang well but I can’t dogfight with bf109 well at all no matter how much time I put in it. I want to have a German plane to fly so I can at least have one plane on each side. Should I just stick it out with the 109 or should i give the Dora a try?

Thanks for the links. The thing I find odd is that I can fly this plane well if I am not in a dogfight but as soon as I have to make more than a few turns it starts to lose control too much.

Another thing....sometimes the bf109 just refuses to roll to the right. I can have plenty of speed and stick all the way right and she just doesn’t want to go. I’m sure it has to do with the slip of the aircraft but this plane just seems way more sensitive to rudder issues than the spitfire or p51

I can take off and land with this plane but combat is damn hard. I have to nose trim down all the way to just to keep my plane from nosing up in the air and even then depending on airspeed I still have to stick forward a bit. With lack of rudder trim I am always on it the rudder, which isn’t a problem asi can fly the spitfire and p51 just fine and the spit uses a lot of rudder to stay stable, and sometimes I just can’t keep up with how much this plane changes in various flight modes. I do combat at combat ata 1.35 but feel like I am sluggish and unable to climb. Any tips or suggestions?

Can’t join by IP address either. I’m not at home right now but I had my wife try to login to my router to see if ports are open. She couldn’t get in because she said when she typed the WiFi IP address our antivirus blocked it so now I need to look at that. Not sure why it would do that. I just don’t get how my ports would not work randomly one day. Seems weird if that is the case.

I have been creating missions And flying them with friends for a couple months now. All of a sudden my multiplayer servers can’t be seen by friends. Not sure why or what happened. Nothing has changed on my end. Any ideas?

My buddy is new to the game and I was going to send him my setting for the planes we both have. Is all I need to do is go to C:/users........config/input and send the lua files for the stick and throttle to him? Can I just put it in a zip file and email it to him? Then he should just be able to load the files into his input folder and be good to go, correct?

Pretty much this. You f you try and force the spit down you will likely screw the landing. However, letting her sail in and just letting her land herself with minimal large input helps tremendously. -

I don’t have a track. I am flying in the open beta version if that makes a difference. Just look out of the cockpit and turn on the hmcs and you will see the donut there instead of the reticle. You can’t get rid of it either u less you turn off the hmcs. Thanks for the help. -
The rpm needs to be higher or equal to the Equivalent manifold pressure other wise it will overheat pretty quickly (High manifold pressure with low rpm will overheat the engine). Always drop manifold pressure first before rpm. You can pretty much keep the rpm at 30 and just drop the manifold pressure to keep the heat at bay.

Just wanted to update. I have a pretty good handle on the spitfire now. I got really good at taxi and takeoff. Then got good at the engine management, trim, control, and combat. I gave up on landing for a while. Then one night I just created a mission for landing and practiced it over and over. I can now land that damn plane so smooth and pretty much under any circumstance. It is my new favorite ww2 bird. I just love the handling. -

Also, if I am looking the side of the cockpit, not through the hud, only the egg is there. It used to be a cursor and then you would tms up and the egg would appear. Now the egg is there and you can't get rid of it by pushing tms down. It is just constantly there. -
Title says it all. Before the latest update my HMCS either had the diamond or donut (if you TMS was pushed up). Now no matter what I do the donut is on and can't be removed. Is this a glitch or by design?

Question on dogfight missile override switch

Thanks for the detailed explanations. One last thing then. When I am in dogfight mode, which button on the mfd brings me back to neutral or allows me to go to a-g mode (using icp or mfd)? For example, if I am flying in A-A and I switch to dogfight mode, if I push the a-g to on my icp it just stays in dogfight mode. I am not sure how to get it back to normal state or to A-G mode without using the override button. I know I can just click the override but I am trying to learn the plane better. thanks. Regarding the center modes vs the non center modes. If I just use the dogfight/center and the missile/center, that should be good since it will put me in either mode and drop me back to normal at a second press,correct? I am just trying to figure out the best option. On the kid spikes guide I believe just the centered modes are listed on the dogfight/center and missile/center are setup. Btw I am watching a lot of YouTube videos trying to learn the plane but there is a lot to learn and I don’t feel like everything is covered. The training missions In dcs for the f16 are lacking to say the least. -

So i got the RAR files open but the manual just says to go to website and download software packet. ummmmm. where the hell is that. I can't find it. Been googling crap for over an hour

How the heck do you get this keypad working? I have it plugged in. I can't download anything for it. I type in the address it says in the instruction sheet and downloads a file i can't open. Not sure what to do.
