  1. I am able to get ju88s to drop the torpedos but they will not move on to the next waypoint. They just hang around and eventually all get shot down. Anyone have a solution for this? I set them to anti ship and in advance options they are set to attack group.
  2. Any good bf109 pilots knows not to turn for to long and to keep speed high.
  3. I got this working to respawn dead groups and relaunch groups that RTB but it won't respawn the group if a unit dies on the ground or ditches the plane on the ground (which happens a bit with warbirds): local Group_Spawn = SPAWN:New("Plane1") Group_Spawn:InitLimit(2, 0) Group_Spawn:SpawnScheduled(10,0) Group_Spawn:InitRepeatOnLanding() Any thoughts on how to make it work for dead units on the ground?
  4. I am finally staring to mess around with MOOSE and have a few questions on something i am trying to do. This is the script I am playing with right now: Spawn_Plane = SPAWN:New("Plane"):InitRepeatOnEngineShutDown() Spawn_Plane:Spawn() It respawns my plane group when they RTB. 1. I am trying to figure out how to add multiple groups (EX: "plane1" "plane2" etc) or do i have to add these lines for each group I want to respawn after engine shutdown. 2. is there a way to set this on a timer? 3. How could I also add a script for respawning on being destroyed (Getting shotdown)? Thanks
  5. a 109 vs an i16 is stupid easy. Keep energy high and boom and zoom. Don’t get into a turn fight with it. The i16 will never be close enough to shoot.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. I didn’t see the guard over the button. Couldn’t figure out what it did.
  7. If you watch the first pass you can see the b17 gunner get shot and blood covers the glass. I didn’t know DCS had blood in the game.

  8. I guess so. Lol. Trust me I love flying the k4 with mw50 but damn it is a hard bird to beat in 1v1 situation.
  9. When I fly the 109 WITH mw50 I hardly every get shot down unless I am surprised and don’t see it coming or if I am playing with some friends and they are flying the 109 as well. Likewise, trying to shoot one down with any of the allied planes is quite a task. Best bet is to fly the mustang and hope to god the person flying the 109 doesn’t just want to turn into a rocket and climb into outer space. I love flying it for the same reasons i hate flying against it. I feel like it is too good but if that is the way the bird flew in real life then so be it.
  10. Reviving a dead question hear. I have been using the retraction cover up. Then gear up and it works fine as has been stated but what the heck is the retraction cover. When i F2 view my plane I dont see anything moving. Also when I lower the gear I noticed I dont need to ise retraction cover down.
  11. Maybe if I had gone up to 32 inches it would have been better but at 27 the best I can see is at 8miles. I built a mission where the target and I are at the same altitude at 10 miles. I put labels on. I would pause the game every mile and see where I could start to see the dot when I turned off labels. At 8 miles is when the dot becomes visible and when I say visible you have to strain to see it. it is a really nice monitor but man does it suck for spotting.
  12. Both. I figured they would have fixed it over the years.
  13. Why do multiplayer tracks never replay correctly. I mainly fly warbirds and it seems no matter the plane the track never records correctly. I am not speeding up or passing. I just let them replay and eventually my plane will no longer register in the correct location. Sometimes you are shooting at nothing or someone is shooting over you but your plane is getting riddles with bullets. I have actually had my plane crazy on replay because it is registering lower than I was when I was actually flying. Ruins many good opportunities for videos.
  14. I read about all the reports of spotting difficulties when getting higher resolution screens but didn’t realize how significant the change was when going from 1080 to 1440. Hard to see anything until it is right on you almost. I get the reason behind it but man I hope my eyes adjust and I get better because right now it makes some MP servers really difficult.
  15. this another option as well. Whenever I am stationary on the g round I keep my brakes on and rpm around 1100
  16. thanks again. I just loaded my map and found the offending unit. Accidentally put one tank in that was in the paid assets. That tool made it easy to find.
  17. Thanks. I’ve been playing this game for a long time and building missions for a long time and still learn new things. Thank you. i got a few people I fly with now flying warbirds a bit more. Need to hook em so they buy the full assets pack. Lol
  18. I agree. You should always try to have altitude and speed. On the deck things become a millions times more difficult for the 190. However, if you get stuck on the deck you still have the roll rate to force scissor and try to get an overshoot, although it is much better to have altitude so you don’t make a mistake and fly into the ground. A good mustang pilot can use the rudder and aileron in opposite directions to cause the mustang to turn/skid at really low speed but still maintain lift.
  19. What is the full Name of the panzer Iv that is free? I tried building a mission but can’t figure out why it still say assets pack required. Thought I only used free assets but obviously I have a paid assets pack item in the mission somewhere.
  20. For a pilot who knows how to skid steer with a mustang even at slow speeds he can cause damage. It really comes to the reversal and being able to time it right.
  21. That’s weird. I never have an engine seize or fail.
  22. Fighting AI and fight real people are two different things in this game, especially with the Anton. With the AI they will climb and dive at speeds and Gs you won’t be capable of. With the AI, if you try to climb with them you will always be out of speed first, which means you will be right in front of them when they come down (same applies for people too I guess). With the AI you can be at any altitude and use the roll rate of the Anton to reverse the turn to force your enemy out in front. It just takes practice learning when to reverse the turn. If the AI is right on your six your only hope is to have altitude to gain speed. What you need to make happen is make the enemy come in behind you from a dive or from an angle so that they have to turn into your 6 o’clock. As you see them turning in behind you turn the opposite way, not the same way they are turning on you. This will force them to roll to turn with you. As you see them make that move, roll and reverse again. Eventually you get the scissor more and more out of line for the enemy and you try to force the overshoot. The AI will give you some breaks even at veteran level. You can sometimes pull on hard on the stick to get the nose around on the AI. This will bleed speed but sometimes the enemy will still extend away after the merge allowing you to extend and gain speed again. Against a human you will be smoked if you bleed speed trying to get your nose around first. With humans you need altitude so if you make a mistake and get too slow you can get your speed back. Don’t get in a tight, sustained turn fight. Keep the speed up and when they eventually try to slot in behind you start using the roll rate and try to reverse the turn. Use the Antons armor to absorb some of glancing shots they may hit you with and force the scissors and get the snap shot on them when they cross the nose. situational awareness and always watching the enemy while they are behind you is the key. You have to see where they are so you can make a move to try to keep the fight in your favor. The Anton is a defensive fighter IMO. You may catch someone by surprise on occasions and be able to shoot them from behind but most of the kills you will get from antons are going to be snap shots as you force plans to cross the nose. The Anton is probably one of the hardest warbirds to fight with IMO. I still get killed plenty in it but it is challenging and fun for me. blackbirds video above shows a great example of using the roll rate and reversal to get the advantage.
  23. Hello all. I fly with the Wolf Pack US group. I am hoping to get a few more warbird pilots in our ranks. Most of our crew fly jets which is fun but I like flying warbirds and am trying to grow the warbird community within our group. A lot of our members own a warbird but only a handful of us fly warbirds regularly. We have a pretty decent sized community of virtual pilots. We have 4 dedicated servers at this time. One of those is solely for warbirds, which I create our content for. We have warbird mission nights on Saturday where the goal is to learn how to fly as a coordinated group to achieve our objective for the night. We have modern jet/helo mission nights on Tuesday and Thursdays as well if you are interested in that. We require no schedule or membership stuff and anyone is welcome to join. If interested come check out Wolf Pack https://discord.gg/7DSRhkb Our warbird server runs on the open beta and can be found by searching for "Wolf Pack US Warbirds". Right now on the warbirds server we are running a mission I built on the Caucasus map with the free WW2 assets so anyone can join in and fly as long as you have a warbird. I usually have our Normandy map up to fly but am trying to get some people who may not be ready to commit to spending money on warbird content involved with the WW2 side of stuff in DCS. Both the Normandy map and the Caucasus map run 24/7 (one at a time obviously). The 24/7 map is only taken down for a couple hours on Saturday at 730pm Central time so we can run our mission and then is put back up. Here is the description for the warbird server. The Normandy map has bombers and a few different things going on but that is because I built it around the paid for assets pack. Allies have CAP patrolling their side of the border and Axis have CAP patrolling their side of the border. Both have CAP in reserve positions as well. If a border is crossed AI units will engage targets and intercept fighters will be launched from various airfields. Mission is defaulted to showing dots on enemy and friendly units. You can toggle from dot to no dot by pressing the shift key + F10. Rearming and repairing must done at blue or red airfields. Blue airfields: Anapa-Vityazevo and Krymsk Red airfields: Gelendzhik and Krasnodar-Center Everything is in this mission is autogenerated. All enemy ground units that are destroyed will respawn after a certain amount of time has passed. Ground units will respawn in different areas within a specified zone so ground targets offer a little more unpredictability. You will have to search out the targets to destroy them. Keep an eye out for messages letting you know when certain target positions have been reported. Wake turbulence is on. Sorry for the long winded post. I am just trying to see of anyone not currently flying with a group wants to check us out. Attached are images of what the map layouts look like. Thank you
  24. The two things most likely to cause that to happen are the governor switch or engine temp, like others said.
  25. Don’t mess with the engine too much. The 190a had a beast of an engine it shouldn’t break down or overheat easily. The engine could be pushed. It was a great design.
