Hi Arikaj,
about 18 months ago I got back into flight sims using the T.16000 FCS Hotas and about 3 months ago I replaced the stick with the NXT.
Regarding your question about the travel distance difference between the T16000 and NXT, the NXT does have a shorter travel, about 10 mm in each direction from center. (Note this is an eyeball estimate)
My experience is that the shorter travel is not an issue, but I don't fly helos that much and I just recently bought the Huey, so I have never flown it using the T.16000 so I can't compare.
To sum it all up, the T.16000 is a fantastic piece of kit to start out with, but the NXT is just a league above when it comes to precicion and having quite a few hats and buttons at you fingertips is a big bonus. Combine the NXT with the TWCS throttle and decent rudder pedals, you really have to bring some hefty bundle of money to top that combo.
