  1. ENO describes my initial MP experience perfectly. If it weren't for TeamSpeak and player "Wheel's" guidance to "go LAN" , I wouldn't have returned to MP. It was extremely frustrating and needs to be fixed.
  2. Anyone remember mission completion in "F19 Stealth Fighter" (1980's)? All goals met- Game showed a video of you and all your wingmen partying in the O club. Some goals met- Just a few fellows gathered in the O club. Mission failure- Only you at the bar crying in your beer. Given a choice though, I agree 100% with Frostie!
  3. I know where you're coming from Chief. Sure is a welcome change from the board games and plastic models age! ED is making excellent choices lately.
  4. Just a quick note to say I think ED made a good decision regarding this sale. It's great to see all the interest and new people coming on board. Flying DCS P51 has been a real hoot but kinda lonely at times, looks like that will change for the better. Squadron forming time!
  5. Fuel in the rear fuselage tank can also make the handling a bit trickier.
  6. Heh, wish I could say the same Badger. Matt's post has me breaking out the treadmill and free weights again! Jim.
  7. I'm with Shaker on this one. Was fortunate to enjoy the progression all the way from SSI Flanker 1 to present DCS World. Never tire of jumping into the different cockpits and experiencing the miracle that Eagle Dynamics has brought to our desktop. Many thanks, happy new year!
  8. Same problem here. I had BS2 Upgrade before World, wonder if it matters. Not a good suit to be wearing for escape and evasion. :)
  9. I agree with Watari, my gameplay seems much smoother. Maybe this was a tradeoff? If so, it was worth it.
  10. GTX 560 TI 1024Mb here. I run Most settings high, water and shadows medium, no heat blur, no civ traffic, no mirrors. While playing my GPU temp maxes out at 64c, fan 75%, usage 99%, memory 1014Mb. Single monitor 1920x1080. Just bought it last year so might have to make do for awhile, I'm pretty happy with the way the sim plays.
  11. Thanks for quick response and good info. Lange, yes I do remember adding updater.exe manually simply because that is where the game starting desktop shortcut was pointing to. So one other question, why is the remove button inactive for some .exe's and active for others? Thanks again, Jim.
  12. Hi Guys, Under "Manage 3D Settings" I have the following program entrys: 1. dsc updater.exe 2. Digital Combat Simulator:Black Shark 3. launcher.exe 4. Lock On 5. Simulator.exe Games installed right now are Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 and DCS World (A10, BlackShark, and P51). All previous versions deleted. My questions are, with all these execute files listed in NVIDIA Control Panel which one does World use to set the graphics card? What would be the correct ones for my current installs? Which entrys can I delete and also, how to remove when the remove button is greyed out (inactive)? Thanks very much, Jim in PA.
  13. Ok, everything installed fine, flew a quick mission and all is good! One more question- Now that BS2 is up and running can I uninstall BS1? (Need the space because of small SSD). Thanks for all your help, can't find this information anywhere else, you are a life saver.
  14. Thank you Bengo, Do you know if 1.02 is considered by BS2 to be a valid BS1 install? Or is it looking for a clean version 1 straight off the CD. In other words, what has the new installer fixed?
  15. Hi, I have the boxed English version of Black Shark 1 installed and patched to 1.02. Last night I downloaded the four files contained in BS2 upgrade (English). Will this latest installer work over 1.02 or do I need to uninstall everything and start over? Also, what files do I need to save in order to avoid redoing all the controller inputs? Thanks, I looked through all the forum threads on installing BS2 but there is alot of conflicting info and the official upgrade page has no information.
  16. Please let it be a Hornet. I'm still flying Janes' version (Thank you TSH for keeping her going!) Large F18 fan base to keep sales high. Perfect compliment to SU 33. Let us pray.
  17. Thanks for the encouraging posts guys. I made a few simple combat missions and trained for a week but when I started the campaign, first enemy contact proved to be fatal, ah heh. Need more training on escape from IR SAMS. Scooter, I went to your squads website but couldn't locate the Dragon missions. Also checked search here with no luck. Could you point out their location, I could really use some good trainer missions? Thanks, Jim.
  18. Hello folks, First time post here, great to be part of this forum. I bought Black Shark two weeks ago and have logged about 24 hours flying it. It is by far the best simulation I have ever seen (having flown almost every flight sim made since the late '80s). I really enjoy the comprehensive manual, in-depth systems, and accurate flight model. After two weeks of training on simple user-made missions, I feel a real sense of accomplishment in becoming confident operating a helicopter. Posted below (hopefully), are screenshots showing my graduation from basic flight training (landing on the back of the Moskva cruiser, first try would you believe). Next will come combat training although I'm not familiar with copter tactics on the battlefield. Seems like it would be very hard to survive unless done stealthily at night. Anyway just wanted to say hello and congratulate Eagle Dynamics on a fine product.
