  1. Hello again. Is there a way within the ME to trigger radio actions? I have been able to trigger bringing up the Comms menu at the start of a mission, but I'd also like to trigger keystrokes thereafter. For example, if flying in VR and approaching a carrier at night, you need to make the radio call to get them to turn the lights on. The sequence for this on the keyboard would be: Comms Menu, F5, F1, F1, F3. So, I can automate the first part - bringing up the comms menu at mission start - but then when I go to automate F5, it switches the view as is pressing F5, rather than triggering the radio command which is associated with F5 at that point. Is this possible using the ME or do I need to learn some lua script? I've tried it using Voice Attack and a voice trigger will do it - but a button press on a HOTAS does not seem to work, although VA does detect the button whilst setting up the automation, just not whilst flying the mission.
  2. Thanks Eduardo; I think my replies got mixed up with yours - I hadn't seen your post 21 when I posted 22.
  3. Also to add ...F18 Low Altitude is adjusted not by 3001, for which +1 clicks the button and -1 does nothing, but by action 3002 where -1 moves the switch anti-clockwise and +1 moves it clockwise. So: 30/3002/-1 drops the Low Altitude by one notch on each action. Thanks once again to all for pointing me in the direction of this thread.
  4. OK, so I figured it out. Hadn't realised you could apply negative values too. So, in case anyone stumbles across this in future... 2 is Flaps on the F18 3007 is all three of Auto/Full/Half 0 sets the Flaps at Half 1 sets the Flaps at Auto (positive, hence up on the switch I presume) -1 sets the Flaps at Full (negative, hence down the switch) So the parameter X: COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION (2, 3007, -1) will start the mission with the F18 flaps fully deployed, and (2, 3007, 1) would start the mission with the flaps in Auto mode
  5. OK made some progress: I can get the Hook to drop using 5, 3009, 0.1 (instead of 1 as the value). So, good. Can't get the Flaps to move at all, presumably because the code is the same for multiple actions, i.e 3007 is used for Flaps Auto, Flap Full and Flap Half, and 3017 is used for Flap Cycle, Flap Down and Flap Up. Have tried several permutations but no joy as yet...
  6. Thankyou to WytchCrypt and Grimes for pointing me in the direction of this thread, but I must be stupid or doing something wrong because I can't get this to work. This, I think, should set the F18 Flaps to 'Down'. In the Controls for the F18 that shows as Command 2, 3007 to toggle the flaps down (or I could run Command 3017 twice to move the switch down twice from Auto to Half and then to Full). I've tried both variations but neither works. I've also tried setting a Trigger Zone to do it, and that doesn't work either. Can someone see what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
  7. Great, thankyou both very much. I’m figuring this out on my personal machine prior to going with a commercial dcs license, as I can’t expect non regular players to know how to automate some of this stuff, and need to set it at mission start.
  8. Hi folks. As per title, is there any way to set up certain parts of the aircraft in the mission editor by a script or other mod? Specifically I am looking to turn the F18 Low Altitude warning to zero at the start of a mission, to save having to adjust it manually as I fly in VR and this mission starts at 400kn at 300ft, and I don't want it beeping the whole time. Thanks
  9. I've a 3900X and 2080Ti, 32GB DDR4, running off a 1TB Firecuda, Rift S etc. Once I'd ironed out some of the minor 'default' issues with DCS it seems to run blazing fast in both VR and non-VR; between 110-180fps and 40-60fps in VR based on my experience so far.
  10. Turned off wake turbulence and MSAA. Fixed.
  11. Haven’t had time to figure it out yet but will post if/when I do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi good people. I'm experiencing some frame rate issues in DCS that I'm curious about and wondering if it's a known issue or some optimization that I'm lacking. Every 1-2 seconds, the frame rate will drop, just for a split second, from say 150fps (when in 3rd person view) down to about 50fps. When in first-person view, the FR drops from about 85fps down to 35fps. It's barely noticeable because it is less than the blink of an eye, but obviously you can see it. Oddly, it doesn't seem to happen in Persian Gulf, but it does happen in Normandy, Caucasus and Nevada. Any ideas or could you point me in the right direction if this has been mentioned before? It is most definitely not a lack of hardware power. Thanks.
  13. Hi sky dancer Another dcs noob not far from you on Cambs/beds border. I jumped in with both feet and bought a new rig, rift s and warthog in the last month. Vr awesome and I couldn’t go back to 2d. Couldn’t resist several modules either! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi all. Used to be into flight sims but life got in the way; I'm now getting back into DCS and have bought a new rig specifically for DCS, spec as per my signature. Currently learning to fly the F16, configure my HOTAS etc. Newbie tips welcome.
  15. I have just ordered a new gaming rig specifically to play DCS and needed a HOTAS: went on the Thrustmaster site on June 4 and it arrived here yesterday, June 8 - Warthog stick and throttle...
  16. I ordered mine direct from the T M website last week. Turned up yesterday, throttle and stick combo for £399
