Actually, im waiting for yours diveplane :)

I was trying to copy paste a chart I found that summs up the performance but the numbers just jumbled together so heres the link instead. http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/p-47/p-47n-88406.html and I realize this is the N but it says in this memorandum "The P-47 N airplane has performance and handling characteristics very similar to the early P-47 airplanes, but due to heavier weights caused by greater fuel capacity, performance is lower when using equal power settings. The rate of roll is slower, due to the weight being farther from the longitudinal axis of the airplane. "

I believe it was 42.5” Hg at 2600 RPM but im not 100% sure on that number.

Hate to bump an old thread but I wanted to share this and this was the apropriate place. Iam named after a great Uncle on my fathers side "Capt. Thomas Michael Baker" (I have the Michael part) I recently found out he flew P-47 Thunderbolt in the Italian Theatre in WWII and later flew F-86 Sabre's in Korea, and was killed in 1956 in a mishap in a F-86 near jackson mississippi, in his career he earned the DFC and Air Medal with 2 OLC's. I do not know which squadrons he was with as of yet except his last one, the 4750th which only operated from 1953 to 1960, still digging to find out what squadron he was with in both WWII and korea as I plan on making or having made (as im a very amature skinner) skins for his planes he flew in both wars in his memory.

listen too the engine carefully you can hear it start knocking prior to seizing up, ive had it do that too me several times and looked at my temp guage only to find it in the red and was able to compensate and cool it off in time.
-
P-38 was just fine in a dogfight, top 2 scoring U.S. aces of WWII were in P-38s, Richard Bong and Thomas McGuire.
-
Thank you that helps alot.

Thank you, I was only trying to gain a little knowledge on the F-15 and have a little fun with it. I have been doing a mission someone created I found in the Download section to practice TWS mode and for the most part have done everything succesfully except actually down the enemy planes unless I finish them with guns. Edit: didnt have time to post more earlier, the mission is simple, 4 IL-76 at 15k direct course, there is a friendly in the middle of them, AWACS is available too, take off and you head straight too them, they are headed directly too you basically chicken, i locked them up when in range and fire, most times i hit 3 of the 4 but only minor damage, I fire a second time and get similar results, very rarely do they go down, most times they fly away trailing smoke. is this normal?
-
my words are vague and meaningless? thanks for that completely useless and meaningless response, sorry i asked, i shall seek help elsewhere.
-
so is that why i cannot down 4 easy targets with 8 missles?
-
so what is the real issue with aim-120s right now? i myself play a mission setup with 4 IL-76 in spread formation constant speed and alt, I go up with 8 120s. i can hit most of them every time but its only light damage and they fly away unless i gun them down.

anyway.....if anyone has more to say on the original debate i would like to hear as again I love flying the F-15 im just not very good at it and I was curious on this as it may be some of the mistakes I have made as I get shot down by the unseen bandit.
-
I myself would like too see the results, I love flying the F-15 im just not very good at it so im always reading in here for advice from "experts" and seeing what works.
-
Evereyone stop talking about it and put your money where your mouth is and do some mock battles and post the results for all too see............

I had the same problem, the error that pops up FYI can be scrolled down to reveal the solution that helped me, go to user/ username/savedgames/DCS/config the network.config file check the interface line, it may be wrong, mine was. the error in game says to delete this, just the address and retry, when i did this the error was gone and I could host again, hope this solves yours and others issue with this.

"UH-1H "Nighthawk" was equipped with a landing light and a pintle mounted M134 7.62mm "mini gun" for use during night interdiction missions. The AH-1G Cobra was often flown on night "Firefly" missions using the UH-1H "Nighthawk" to locate and illuminate targets. " this was taken from this website http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models/Aircraft/Bell-UH1.html I wouldnt say it is solid proof of anything but interesting none the less.

any mission made before i think it was 1.2.2 had that 6DOF issue, and yes deleting the config file in side the miz file should fix it, thats how i fixed it anyway when i first tried your mission. there is a thread somewhere that talks about that very thing.

Friday Update Appreciation Thread
MVSokie replied to VincentLaw's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
As a lover of anything aviation real or simulated, DCS has become my escape, I love and fly every vehicle they have thrown out there to date and will continue as long as they keep making them, the only other flight sim I fly anymore is Rise of Flight but then ED and third parties have not made a WWI era plane yet, :) but wouldn't that be something, smaller niche though. keep building ED and ill keep buying and flying. -
frame drops on mine as well as a friend of mine.
-
oh, i misunderstood,:doh:I will try it out then.
-
I dont do auto starts either or I would have tried it. I dont think Ive autostarted any Plane in the DCS world except FC aircraft.

MVSokie replied to kato217's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
ok cool, lots of fun though, Im a little shaky on my gunnery in this beast so i give those 109s only 10 or 20% ammo so i live a little longer untill i get better :)
