  1. Jbad to me has bad runway textures, as you can't spot the airfield from the sky. I'm sure helicopter pilots have no issues, but fast jet issues are there, and the runway texture needs to be darkened so you can spot the airfield from the air to land.

  3. After finally getting a laptop with enough hard drive space (2 2TB SSDs), I'm getting back at things in the DCS world. And also I'll take this moment to clarify some things: - I did do previous work in the past with ED (can't say what exactly so don't ask other than consulting work for the A-10C OG module), so there are some with the perception that I'm on the "inside", and I currently am not, and right now nobody has approached me to continue to work. I'm open to work and if they want me to help then I can do so, but I haven't made any requests to get back into things either (It's only been almost two weeks and I'm still re-learning things). I need to re-establish myself here, and that's fine, I can put in the work to do it and so on. But while I do know some people around here, I don't make an effort to get the "inside scoop" (even though I could, I'm a regular Member, not "on the inside" right now (I see the same thing all Members do, so there's no special stuff with me). It could change and so on, but for now I'll be one of you people unless things change. I know back in the past I've said some negative things about ED, but that's in the past and wanted to just move on as I said my pieces and now it's time to work, and so on. - As for flying I'm getting back into the A-10C II and so on, and as you may have seen, skin work too (one of my favorite things to do with the sim. I may branch out into the Apache, but right now I'm sticking with the Warthog, and when the new Mig-29A comes out, I may look into it and planning on doing skin work as I have a few ideas once the template comes out. I still have templates for most of the aircraft, and see that some aircraft haven't changed over the years, so I'll look into doing more and such.

  14. Granted I flew a single ship A-10C II I had no issues with the map so far. I mean yeah the more complex the mission and other factors may affect FPS, there wasn't any noticeable hit on FPS, even at low-level. So yeah, it works fine on my rig so far.

  17. OneDrive will automatically back up files that it's set to upload to the cloud. I've had game files and so on sent to OneDrive, but never emails. I'd suggest you delete the stuff, your Outlook will be fine.
  18. Can't help much either, as I was forward deployed to FOB Blessing and not an airdale. but used them quite a bit though during my tour.
  19. I mean they probably won't go that way, but this isn't really a bad idea either.

Another game has a way of including civilian, military, etc, NPCs into the game, as well as a setting to prevent it from being activated by players unless they're in the zone where it activates. I mean the game is old, and it doesn't affect FPS too much, it still puts a load, hence them activating unless you get a certain distance from the zone. So no, as people have said, DCS is a bit on the CPU as it is, and could you imagine all those cities (or just one) spawning a lot of civvies or troops? Not worth the effort. And as mentioned above, it's just not worth the CPU hit to render all those people. Great for immersion, yes, but not worth the pain it'll cause.
  21. I'm currently not affiliated with ED in any way right now. I was, but that's about it. Nobody has approached me or otherwise, so we're all clear. Sure I know some people, but I'm like most, we're still members but not privy to any inside information about current work, but I'm out of the military (left in 2013), so I'm VEEEEEEERY rusty on JTAC-style controls and such (even though I consulted on the JTAC portion, though mislabled as one as I was a JFO at the time). And I don't keep up because I really don't need to. Anyway, I don't disagree with a trainer, but you're right, I'm not the target audience (good point), but it'll take years for development, and never perfect in the eyes of players and so on.
