  1. I don't seem to be able to upload attachments, is it allowed to post links to external file sharing sites?
  2. Yes, the missile was his. I was at 40k feet.
  3. While flying on the Aviasibir server today with the F-15 I engaged another eagle, killed him with an AIM-120C and then all of a sudden I got sniped by his AMRAAM. The problem is that I got absolutely no warning, like with an ET shot. No missile going active, no nothing. Note that we were flying head on so the missile should have been withing my RWR's detection limits. Is this a bug?
  4. Whatever it is just let it be a multi-role one. I imagine shooting down fighters all day is gonna be extremely boring.
  5. My guesses are F-16, F-15C or F/A-18E. I highly doubt it would be a two-seater.
  6. I've been flying the F-15 for a while now but I have some problems with turning defense into offense. This is my main cause of death in multiplayer right now especially when fighting against a Su-27. When the enemy launches a R-27ER I wait for my AIM-120 to go pitbull, do a split-s and outrun his missile. The problems start here. At this point whenever I try to go back on the offense I usually eat a R-27ET because while I was turning and trying to re-acquire him he's been getting a lot closer. Also at what minimum distance is notching still an effective way to break lock? Any tips on improving my tactics are appreciated. :)
  7. But also lot's of losses. Their survivability is pretty low when I engage them with my hand. :D
  8. Is there a way to find my current PRF mode while in TWS or STT?
  9. IIRC the F-2 is a bit larger than the F-16. Maybe that's why it needs a drag chute.
  10. This will be an interesting conference. IMO it's foolish to think that we are alone in the whole universe.
  11. Crysis nanosuit becoming reality? :D
  12. F-16 or F-18 are the most realistic variants for a next DCS considering how many countries use these aircraft and there's plenty of non-classified info available about them. I highly doubt we'll see a good F-22/F-35 sim for at least the next 20-30 years. Personally I would also love to see DCS F-16.
  13. Or probably because they are running cracked (illegal) versions.
  14. Gotta admit that in it's current shape it doesn't look nowhere near 0.01.
  15. I am trying to increase the kill chance of my AIM-120s and I wondered when launching a missile which one gives a higher kill chance? Flying at lower altitude (~10000 feet) but with higher speed (~470 knots), or higher altitude (~18000 feet) but lower speed (~400 knots). Also is there a significant difference between 120B and 120C in terms of kill probability?
  16. It may be more maneuverable but does for e.g. the cobra have any real usage (apart from being a nice air-show maneuver)? Nope. There was an interview with some USAF pilots and they are were on the same opinion.
  17. That's where AIM-9X and JHMCS would come into play. If the Super Hornet fires one of these it's game over for the flanker. No fancy maneuvers will help you dodge it.
  18. I used to fly MiG-29S but now I find the F-15 much better after playing a while with it. It's BVR capabilities are awesome and the situational awareness is much better than in Russian fighters.
  19. Also when you reach the current waypoint the aircraft will automatically select the next one (if in nav mode).
  20. That doesn't stop him from publishing crap just to make people belive him you know. ;) Actually helps when you think about it. People will see that he has awards and stuff and thus believe him.
  21. My vote also goes for the Super Hornet. It has more recent avionics and an AESA radar.
  22. Thx, I guess I'll have to be more careful when firing a missile with friendlies around the target.
