Bombs, missiles, intermittent not working.
davebert replied to davebert's topic in Bugs and Problems
I will double check but if I can drop the bombs for the first drop, and not the second drop, I must have it set right. I also have the switch (forget the name) set to MAN in the top center cockpit. And I did mean the missiles for air to air. When the bombs quit working then the missiles quit working too. Now that was all before the release yesterday as I was running the stable version so maybe now that I have the released beta (now the stable version) everything may work. I will check and report back later. Thanks p.s. I may have been using CBU's too, if that matters... -
[NO TRACK FILE ATTACHED] See through skin?
davebert replied to davebert's topic in Bugs and Problems
I don't know if it is patched or not as I just downloaded it for the first time yesterday along with the new DCS stable version released from beta. So I guess I have the latest version. -
I just got to try my F/A18 for the first time yesterday and doing an instant flight the jet flies excellent. But, when I fly upside down I can see the ground through the skin of the plane. This is with the F-2 outside view. Is that a known issue? Thanks, Dave
-
How are we supposed to bomb a target if the bombs won't deploy? Sometimes I can drop the 2 outer bombs but when I swing back around to drop the other 2, they won't drop no matter what I try. And to top it off the missiles won't work then either. Is this a know bug?? Thanks, Dave
-
Fixed it  Got it running after numerous things and in the end it may have been the timing of the new beta released to stable. One issue with the mouse but that may be in the key assignments...We will be flying again. :) edit:Well it was working until he added in the purchased aircraft so back to square one. He opened up a support ticket.

Well, thinking it was the Viggen, I deactivated and reactivated it and still have the same problem. I am checking for Windows updates and going to run the System File Checker next. I also noticed he never gets the DCS Login screen either when he starts the game/sim. Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks, Dave

Invalid Serial Number after Update 1.5.7.7741
davebert replied to MegOhm_SD's topic in Bugs and Problems
So what was the fix? :D My father in law has the same issue it seems... Thanks -
Here is the latest log and it looks like the Viggen is the problem. So if I am right, how do I fix it? Is it one of those activation reg codes I looked at in the support area? I will be back in a couple of hours... I bought my father in law FC3 recently to get him going with DCS and all was well. Then we both purchased quite a few jets during the sale and I activated all of mine and all is good. He seems to have got them all activated as he said he was playing around with them but when he went to start DCS after that, it won't start up. He also mentioned that during the install he left the room and when he came back the pc had rebooted itself which was odd but Win10 is known to reboot and install updates at the worst possible time. He ran the repair option on DCS and no go so he uninstalled DCS and reinstalled and tried again. It seemed to have worked but then when he installs the purchased jets and activates them and it finishes, DCS still won't open. It doesn't check for update and the next 2 progress bars are short and quick and it fails to run without any error messages. Win10 had some error message that said it had installed a generic Video Driver for his Nvidia GTX 980, so I assumed that was the problem and installed the latest driver with GeForce Experience through Team Viewer as I tried to help him. No go so we uninstalled and reinstalled again and same problem. Anybody ever run into this? Does it have something to do with the activations? Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the info. I was hoping I could modify the skin and then in a multiplayer game hosted by me the other players could see it. So they would have to download and then install the skin first to see it. Bummer. :no_sad:
-
Is there a way to change the pilot's name on the aircraft? I mean to change it to my name. Is this done with modifying the skin? And if that is the case, can we modify *any* of the skins that are currently available or just the default one, in this case, for the F-5E from Belsimtek? Thanks, DB

Can you view the planes or just the text or name of the planes? I just tried to edit a mission that another guy in our little group made and from what I can tell it may be easier to start over as I am not having any luck. Probably best to learn from personal experience anyhow. Thanks, Dave edit: Found some good videos and am well on my way and I see where you can see the planes too.

Just a followup on that rudder problem...it seemed to have fixed itself. I sent him all the info to try to fix it and he said he is only having problems with 1 aircraft now with the ground steering (SU27). So I don't know if it was a Win10 thing or a reboot, or a glitch...

Asator87, Thanks for the added info. Now that I know it *can* be done I will figure it out after a little more familiarity with the ME. So far we are just 3 guys trying to learn the sim and create a small squadron and once we get good (or better) we can really have some fun. So the 3rd guy while he is figuring out what plane he will purchase can't hinder us with some purchased aircraft and we can all still play or fly together.
-
Shahdoh, Thanks for clearing that up. So use the Caucasus map to cover all bases until said friends pony up for the other terrains and all will be fine. Sounds good to me. And allowing FC3 to fly with the purchased aircraft is also great. Now back to the mission builder videos for noobs. :megalol: Dave
-
Ok, great. Thanks for the info. Now I can get to work. Dave
-
Ok, that is great news. Now I just need to figure out how to allow a mix of planes when creating a mission. In a few words what would be the section in the mission section of the manual that makes this work? Is the key word in doing that "client"? Thanks, Dave

Can I share my kneeboards with a few friends? I haven't made any yet but wanted to know if/when I do, can I share the kneeboards with a few friends and could they install them without having the kneeboard builder? Or if they install the kneeboard build can I share the file I made and it's easier for them to install it? Just trying to make it easier to help a few guys out as between the 3 of us we are delegating different duties to learn the sim quicker. Thanks, Dave

I am starting to think the answer is no but let me ask anyway so we can quit trying to figure it out. :music_whistling: I was thinking that we could create a mission and mix the use of FC3 jets and purchased jets, namely the F-5E. The reason I ask is a friend hasn't purchased any jets yet but has FC3 and I wanted to create a mission where the F-5E could be flown alongside an F15C or some other FC3 jets. Then I was thinking some more after not getting it to work so far that maybe, the guy without any purchased jets would not be able to see my F-5E because he doesn't have the F-5E module on his system. Is this correct? Thanks, Dave
-
Ok, I will tell him. Thanks for the followup. Dave

Art, Thanks for the info. He knows about the "S" key for the steering and the rudder issue exists on the ground and in the air. I told him how to repair the game files and also told him to check for duplicate assignments but I think he only assigned one shortcut and of all things, it was the "S". :smilewink: I am having him remove the Logitech driver and even remove the device and then reinstall with the WIN10 driver and test it and take notes. He is using a USB 2.0 port too so that is not the issue. Thanks, DB DB

Hi, My stepdad was flying with me and another guy and his first takeoff was fine. Then he couldn't get in the air the rest of the time we played and said he couldn't steer properly. We looked at his F15C and could see he was having rudder issues so we had him check the calibration etc in DCS and also in Win10. He could use the rudder properly in another game (BF4) so that left us somewhat confused. Also, while this was happening the keyboard commands for the rudder did not work as normal. Is there a DCS system file checker available? What is the best next move to fix this issue? He is running the stable v2.5 on his system. Thanks, DB

Hi guys, I set up or hosted a couple times a server and played or flew with my neighbor in the last couple of weeks and all worked fine. I have the port 10308 open on my router and the firewall set to allow both private and public access to DCS on my WIN10 Pro pc. Now, after a windows update and a router firmware update, the hosted server I create doesn't allow my friends to joing and has the error message to them: "Server Offline". It has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. I am running the stable or release version of DSC. Any troubleshooting tips would be great. I just name the server, select the amount of players allowed, add the 10308 to my IP address and tell them to join by IP address using my IP Address:10308 and it used to work. I was selecting a multiplayer mission from FC3. Thanks in advance, Dave P.S. Never mind...I figured it out. My IP address changed on my pc most likely due to me turning on another pc on my network. Everything is back to working and if that happens again it will be a quick fix again with an edit in the router. :)
