Just so I understand this correctly, after cleaning and lubing with Nyogel 767A, does the joystick come back to center by itself fairly quick or normal or is it super slow and you have to manually move it to center?? I watched this video and it looks like the Nyogel slows this test down by a lot. How does that compare to the Warthog gimbal and tolerances? Thanks video: https://

FREE SHIPPING on the THRUSTMASTER WARTHOG - YES! There is no free shipping on the MFG Crosswinds though. Shipping is 39 Euro's to the USA which is currently $44.24 at present exchange rate. The Crosswinds will ship 2-4 days after they receive payment. They will send out the invoice on December 3rd. Ships with DHL and should arrive in 2-3 days according to the site. So you order it now and wait for the invoice.

When you order the Crosswinds a note shows in the order that you can add the "softspring" and update the order. So you get the regular and the soft spring for $2.75 more. Works for me. Thanks

I got the whole deal for $350 USD: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/743173-REG/Thrustmaster_2960720_Hotas_Warthog_Flight_Stick.html/?ap=y&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-Oj1vLru3gIVBrXACh2kSguaEAYYASABEgKJsPD_BwE&lsft=BI%3A514&smp=Y And I ordered the Crosswinds today.

Doh! I just looked at the manual and it says "Rotate and Pull". I was "Pulling then Rotating". I will see if that was the problem. Another guy I fly with had the same idea and couldn't get it to work. :music_whistling:

Every now and then I run out of fuel and the cockpit shuts down but I still have enough altitude to make a landing. Problem is, my landing gear won't come down. I try the emergency landing gear lever and pull it out and twist it but that doesn't work. Just how do you get the emergency landing gear to come down after you have run out of fuel? :joystick: Thanks

Thanks for the reply. How do you like them? Do you know if he offers the lighter spring for heli operation or if he has just refined the design with the tension adjuster? I read about an optional spring that is not on the order form that you have to request and pay a little extra for.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the pdf drawings and the width to the outside of the pedals is almost 19.5 inches and the pedals are 4 inches wide so that leaves 11.6 inches in between the insides of the pedals. Sure glad I decided *not* to get the Thrustmaster pedals.

Now that we ordered our Thrustmaster Warthogs we need rudder pedals and have decided on the MFG Crosswinds pedals from Milan in Croatia. Before we order them I wanted to be sure he is still selling the pedals. Has anybody purchased them recently? The website looks alive and well and I contacted him through the contact link yesterday but have heard nothing back. Thanks edit: I just found this and is dated November 8, 2018 so I think we are good to go... https://mfg.simundza.com/blog/volair-sim-obutto-r3volution-compatibility-with-wap-addon-from-mfg/ ---

Weird behavior with AUTO boxed following waypoints in A/G mode
davebert replied to Precog's topic in Bugs and Problems
I noticed yesterday the dashed yellow line attached to my FA-18 when looking at the map and found that odd too. I would like to know if that is a bug as I never have seen that before. -
Now that will really help. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I should be able to give it a go now with more confidence and less wasted time now. :) I think it would be great if we could change the pilots name in the software or mission editor. Or better yet, if the other players didn't have to download and install my skin on their pc to see me flying in my skin. :P
-
Probably a dumb question but here goes anyway. Are there some best fonts to use when modding a skin? I am mainly concerned with the pilot's name on either side of the cockpit. And any other fonts that are considered best for modding an aircraft skin. Thanks

Where do we find Frugal's video for the X55? Thanks I think I found it (you spelled Froogle wrong :D) :joystick:

Thanks Hijack. I will get that set up for him and see how it goes. I appreciate the info.

A guy in out little group has a weird problem that I am pretty sure I tracked to being the X52 Pro ministick or drivers. On his Win10 Pro pc even when not in DCS the mouse pointer will move to the top of the screen by itself and it is about impossible using the mouse to do anything. I had him unplug the HOTAS and the issue went away. I had him remove the Logitec (Saitek) driver and let it use the Windows driver. It seems this is a known issue but I believe there are a few different ways to fix it. Does anybody know the best way to fix this without buying a new HOTAS? Thanks
-
My mom once told me, "it never hurts to ask". :D
-
Yes, and what made it even more confusing was that all of his other games worked fine and DCS worked fine except for the new protection. And even more strange, the Nevada test Range *did* work and it had the new protection. And his pc worked great for everything else. In the end, some section of the SSD got corrupt and all the repair tools in the world couldn't fix it, and they even reported there was no problem. I tried to avoid the complete reinstall but it had to be done. Maybe now we can have some fun. :joystick:

On the DCS World Helicopter Autumn Sale Pack What if we already have one of the choppers? Can we get the other 3 *only* with this upcoming deal and knock off 1/4 of the price?? I already bought the Huey.

Well, after numerous hours trying all the Microsoft fixes (none worked although SFC (system file checker) and scandisk reported no problems) I decided I would try to do a Win10 Repair by creating the media and running it with the option set to "do not delete apps or personal files". This was run from Windows from an image on a flash drive. It would run and look promising but would end up failing. So I looked into using DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) which is another Microsoft command line tool to fix problems with Windows. I went through the list of commands in the proper order to check the current Win10 image and it said that it had a problem in the Windows Component Store that could be repaired. So then I had to use the flash drive image to extract the install.esd and convert it to a install.wim file so it could use the files from there to fix the problem. But that operation would fail with something about files not found. That ended up the DISM tool couldn't extract and convert the install.esd into a install.wim file due to corrupt image on the flash drive. And after many different errors (I have most written down) I gave up and tried again the next day. It ended up that the flash drive he had or the image I put on it was bad so he found another one and I created a new install image on it. Then I said we should just do a clean install but we couldn't get his motherboard to boot from usb (known issue for certain Gigabyte motherboards 9 years old) so instead of doing a repair install live in Windows, I changed it to an upgrade install and "do not save anything". This reinstalled Win10 Pro as an upgrade and went fine. He installed DCS and tested the Harrier and it worked so he installed all of his DCS stuff and it all works. Of course now I think I figured out his Saitek X52 Pro ministick is causing another issue where his mouse cursor has a mind of its own while not in DCS. I started reading about it so at least I can fix it one way or another. Here are some, but not all of the error messages I had to deal with... The language or edition of the version of Windows currently installed on your PC isn't supported by this tool the source files could not be found 0x8007025D-0x2000C the installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during APPLY_IMAGE operation The specified buffer contains ill-formed data access denied

I fixed it. I will post more info tomorrow. :)

Well even worse, he has other purchased jets too like the F5 and a few others and the Huey too. It sure has taken the fun out of playing. :music_whistling:
-
Yes, it's definitely the new copy protection system and as they add it to other jets he will just end up with FC3. He has Win10 Pro and pretty much all the same AV and anti spyware protection as me and mine works great. His pc uses a Gigabyte GA-X58-UDR5 Rev 1.0 mother board but that shouldn't matter and the BIOS is the latest they offer. Anyhow, I sent BIGNEWY a PM and we will see if he can help. Thanks
-
Ok, so it happened. Yesterday the update broke the sim even further in the case of the jets. When he tried to run the sim it starts to load then quits without error message like it did before. I told him to remove the Viggen and the Mirage and Nevada Test Range one at a time and try to start it. He removed the Viggen and no joy. The he removed the Mirage and it worked. So I guess the Nevada TR either didn't get the new protection or it was because we were using the Caucasus map for our flying. I will have him fly with Nevada just to verify. So now he lost 3 jets. :helpsmilie:
