  1. I had massive head tracking issues in my Crystal light after the recent update, recovered this by going back to PimaxPlay 1.36, which nicely resolved the issue. Importantly, I had to first deinstall, then remove all Pimax-related folders in the AppData subfolders, the reinstall the older version of PimaxPlay. Here's a link to the different versions, thanks to The Blog of ThizThizzyDizzy Best of luck, Tobse!
  2. Is it just me, or is this a remarkably weird bug fix related to pilot obesity?
  3. Just played through those first 3 missions, extremely well done. Nice additions like the virtual yellow shirts for taxiing, the usual great voiceovers, apparently some randomization going on, at least in mission 3. Thanks a lot for making these available, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the whole campaign will work out. Take care, Tobse!
  4. I seem to have a similar issue, successful ILS approach (no go-around in my case), got taxi advice, landed in the suggested spot, shutdown, mission accomplished graphic, 50 points. Main takeaway: IFR in a helicopter is not fun! Cheers, Tobse
  5. I noticed that the freq given in over comms the 3rd mission for Ramat David is slightly off: 251.050 instead of 251.100 A big thanks to the whole team for setting up this mini-campaign, very exciting experience, so far! Cheers, Tobse
  6. Just tried it again after the update, can confirm that it works now. Take care, Tobse! p.s. liking the campaign very much, so far!
  7. I'm super-excited for this and hope it will work out as planned. Any hints yet on whether this will feature more air-to-air engagements than Kerman, in hommage to the original Falklands war? Cheers, Tobse!
  8. Glad I found this thread: just revisiting the campaign and noticing the helo fps drop issue, even in the new DCS 2.9 . Serves as a great excuse for dying from getting shot in the face by the helo with a missile, though! Cheers, Tobse
  9. Issue seems fixed, I just booted up DCS and the campaign appeared in the module manager - so what does this TMS switch do again? Lets find out - weekend secure! Take care, Tobse
  10. Just bought it to support the great work you do, hope this shop issue will be resolved soon. Cheers, Tobse
  11. So, I managed to put in the new CPU without any drama and can definitely see an improvement in fps and overall smoothness, happily trying out all kinds of planes and mission setting. Thus I'll join the club recommending this kind of upgrade! Take care, Tobse!
  12. Thanks, its been a while since I did something like that. Take care, Tobias
  13. Thank you all! I just ordered the CPU and will hopefully manage to mount it without making a mess next weekend, looking forward to smoother rides. Take care, Tobse
  14. Thanks, that's encouraging! Take care, Tobse
  15. Dear all, I'm contemplating doing the CPU upgrade, as the Ryzen7 5800X3D is the hottest CPU my mainboard supports (currently sporting 32Gigs of RAM). I use an RTX3070 GPU and play single-player in VR with a Reverb G2, have already enjoyed significant fps and quality benefits from the multithread open beta. The fps counter shows 'CPU limited', which motivates my question - do you think the juice is worth the squeeze? Thanks in advance for any hints, Tobse!
  16. The engagement in M8 worked fine the second time around - things like that make me wish for a quicksave function in DCS, sometimes!
  17. Like persian freedom, this is a great campaign with beautiful immersion! However, I would like to file a formal complaint against Poodle: in the latter half of M8, he shot me down with an AMRAAM! Will have to play again to see if this issue persists. Take care, Tobse!
  18. Thanks for that tip, I was not aware of that mod! Take care, Tobse!
  19. I played everything in the latest open Beta - however, I am new to VR (System specs Reverb G2, 3070, AMD Ryzen) and may not have the optimum settings just yet. However, without changing any settings, going from flying F14s over the water to taking off on a crowded base in the Huey, fps went from over 60 to, occasionally, less than 15, so I had to down-tune parameters. Regarding the difficulty, the huey feels very tame to me after having gotten started on the Mi-8 and VRS-ing constantly... Take care, Tobse!
  20. Luckily, I had some spare time before new years eve to play through the campaign over the span of about a week, and here are my impressions: - Immersion is very nice, with lots of voiceovers (including, e.g., the voice of Casmo from the low level hell podcast), as well as period-correct music over the radio, popup images etc., and lots of pop culture references that had me smiling - While the Marianas map is probably the best choice in absence of a true Vietnam map, the island is quite small and features such as golf courses and modern buildings detract from that Vietnam feel - The Marianas map is also resource-hungry, and playing in VR, I had to tune down features a bit to get halfway decent fps - especially over the nicely populated airbase with lots of B52s, C130s etc, the frame rate tanks, otherwise. Again, not a criticism against the campaign design, but something to keep in mind - There is decent variety in the mission types, with a switch from slicks to gunships mid-campaign - Overall difficulty is, in my view, easier than either the Argo or Worlds apart campaigns - while I regularly ended up with a few holes in the fuselage and some instrument failures, most missions were doable in the first go, with manageable airmanship challenges (LZ size etc.) In summary, I'm very happy with the campaign and highly recommend it - I'll definitely revisit several of the missions, especially the last one, whenever there are some improvements to DCS VR performance. Take care, Tobse!
  21. Awesome, very much looking forward to this!
  22. A Harrier campaign on the persian gulf map with a flashback desert storm theme? Finished in about two weeks? Yes, please!
  23. I concur with the thread starter, just finished the campaign. It is very nicely done, with quite a bit of variety in the mission profiles, within the confines that the Hog allows for. I also like that it makes use of a bunch of different airfields on the persian gulf map . Voiceovers are very professional, with well-written dialogue and some sobering insights. Two thumbs up for a splendid campaign, and I'm very much looking forward to future adventures of 'Steep' - can we also hope for a Harrier campaign after the next one is finished?
  24. Great news, looking forward to continuing the campaign!
  25. Thanks a lot for the quick reply!
