Water detail on medium, cockpit shadows off, mirrors off, and trees at 6000m helped a great deal on my system @ 2560x 1600. Everything else is maxed.

At this point, it could be anything. Do you have software that can monitor the GPU's temperature? Some of what you are experiencing could be heat related, especially if you are able to shut down your computer (after experiencing the artifacts), reboot after it has cooled a bit, and everything is OK, and the desktop is fine and your catalyst controls display properly. Just a guess on my part, but I suspect heat. As an aside, is your power supply sufficient to handle the upgraded cards requirements?

Very nice! Don't know if you could do it, but I think it would be cool if you could put a few small tank/vehicle silhouette's on one (or both) sides of the fuselage, and then place an even smaller Punisher skull over each one to indicate a kill! I'd also consider changing the lower fuselage wording to "30mm Punishment OTW" (on the way). Regardless, a great skin that I'd love to have!

My nose wheel appears to be rock-steady. Can you be a bit more descriptive regarding what your nose wheel is doing? Is it moving from side to side rapidly or doing something else? Also, do you have rudder pedals connected or are you using a twist-joystick for that function? It is possible that something is going on with either one of those if you are using them...

I have the combat pedals, and the toe brakes do take a bit of getting used to. As a backup, I have mapped wheel brakes to one of my gaming mouse buttons, so that is my "back up" braking system in case I get lazy.

Great info about this extremely challenging task. I started trying to refuel yesterday and it it without a doubt the most difficult task I have yet encountered in this simulation. The screen shots (like the one above) help greatly. I found that initially I was approaching too high with regard to boom position. Now I have to work on trim...I feel pretty sure that is what is creating issues for me...that and minute throttle manipulation. Eventually I will master this...but it is sure driving me crazy right now!

Thanks for the input. Of course I understand that looking at a single or double preset number is easier to remember than trying to remember a larger freq number. I was curious about the lack of linkage between the preset number and the frequency number! The other issue is that if somehow the preset freq was accidentally changed (it could happen, although remote), you wouldn't immediately know why you couldn't communicate...;) Regardless, thanks for the answers. I learn something from this forum every time that I visit!:)

I am still learning this amazing simulation and have recently been playing with the radios. Why in the world on the actual A-10C, do the radio presets not change the indicated frequency? Is it because of some kind of mechanical issue that make this too difficult? It would seem to me it would be easier to remember what was what if the freq's changed. Of course, on the other hand, I guess you could always have yet another freq displayed and manually tune it, but with so many presets available...it just seems odd... :smilewink:

It would be neat if we could click on the three mirrors in-cockpit to toggle them on/off independantly versus having to check a box under game setup (I believe).:)

I have been using a U3011 for quite some time and I love it. It comes with an individual calibration test result sheet, apparently printed just after adjustment at the factory, before packaging. I have never noticed any lag, and I love all the ports, especially the 4 USB ports since running a flight sim may require lots of peripherals. The touch sensitive bezel controls are intuitive and make it extremely easy to select a preset display mode "on the fly" (pun intended). I have found the one labeled "Game" needs no adjustment while playing DCS A-10C.

I've had great luck with EVGA cards. They also offer some very easy to use free OC'ing tools if you want to explore that avenue. I'm running two EVGA cards in SLi now, and they are fantastic. I have EVGA Precision running and can monitor card stats in real time for both cards from the LCD window in my Logitech keyboard...very convenient. In my case, I'm monitoring fps, card memory usage and temps...and that is but a sample of the stats that I could monitor if I wanted to.

Grats on the purchase, you will not regret it. I could be wrong, but I believe you have to download/install the TARGET software if you want to control the backlighting on the buttons. The setting varies from off to 1 for lowest intensity to 5 for very bright. Default value is 2, but I found that to be a bit too bright for me, so I reduced it to 1 using the software. The setting remains even if you don't run TARGETagain.
