make's perfect sense to me

Edit the mission. Go advanced, generate mission, then edit mission.

I imagine it would be difficult. To me the menus and the simulator itself seem like two completely different programs.

“АС – ПМ” (Automatic tracking – gun sight) switch, to the left of laser standby switch. In gun sight mode, without laser ranging it is fixed to a range of 1,100 meters. With the laser in standby, point the Shkval (by flying the helicopter) on or near the target and tap the lock button. The laser will flash and get range information, the Shkval will update and move to the newly calibrated position, then you aim at the target once more, and fire.

Clarification: You have both World 1.2.1 and Mustang 1.2.1?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the oil dilute is done with a warm running engine, so that the start up will be easier next time in cold weather. A fairly useless function in DCS.

So yeah, first he "announces" that he's making this really cool plane and then says we can't have it, but later he says he "may" release a downgraded version to the public, which he should have stated in his first post. However, this is what really gets me: :megalol: For the record, I am not the kind of person that would disrespect your hard work in any way. This post was meant to be in good humor, not as an insult.

So that's why RShoft+RCtrl Tab wasn't working, have to bail out first. Well, it's not exactly what I'd like, but I guess I just need to start in the air from now on. Sorry about wasting a wish.

Unsure if this has been requested before, but I would like a "cheat" key command that will get you back in the air after you crash while trying to learn a DCS plane with invulnerability on. This command should do the following: immediately reposition your plane to a level attitude 500' AGL your current location, keep the heading you were pointing while on the ground, and launch you to 200 mph. You should be able to clean up your plane (raise gear/flaps) if need while on the ground before using the command. This would be preferable to spending another 5 minutes reloading the simulator. Conditions for the command should be that you are stationary and on the ground, so you can't use it to warp under the enemy fighter/SAM coverage zone. (Note: Not completely stationary mind you, these things really like to bounce around while sitting on the canopy with the engines going) Pretty please?:worthy:

The dark background and high contrast look much easier on the eyes than the shades of grey we have now. Please ED? Oh uh, you will have to fix the "standart" weather though. :music_whistling:

Rudder Trim Dial In Cockpit -Arrows in Wrong Direction?
Mar replied to lennycutler's topic in Bugs and Problems
To trim the rudder right, the trim tab moves left to deflect the rudder to the right. You are indeed trimming the rudder to the left. -

Canopy sounds are bugged for me too. Sometimes, but not every time I start the sim, when I open/close the canopy the canopy sound is very loud and cuts off all other sounds for a few seconds after it stops.
-
Aye, thanks for the link Peter. I knew at the time that they are still working on it, I guess I just kinda jumped the gun on this one. I'll keep my big mouth shut until it's out of beta. :)

I was messing with the snap views. Turns out there isn't enough of them unfortunately, so I have to keep using TIR. I also noticed some weird audio problem with the canopy opening and closing. Sometimes, but not every time the simulator runs, the canopy sound is really loud and cuts out all other sound for a few seconds after it quits. That track was the first time it happened, I know I should have made another shorter track but I'm really tired and not thinking clearly. I better come back tomorrow after a good night's sleep, I should be able to discuss this more effectively then.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it was at the end of the track, and I didn't know that fast forwarding can corrupt the replay. Did some more testing, and found the flaps were indeed the problem. Why though? I've never seen a plane get this sluggish just because the flaps are out.
-
At a (relatively) low speed and the flaps out, I hit some right rudder and the plane slipped right and did not recover. I let go of the rudder before the nose went completely into the swing. I leveled my wings best I could and touched some left rudder as I always do in flight sims to recover from these slips, but it had no effect. I thought this plane had a vertical stabilizer for a reason? I know there's still some work to be done on the flight characteristics, but this just seems to be way off to me... unbelievable side slip.trk

This one? base-menu-window.rar

I believe it is DCS World>Bazar>Liveries>P-51D, then choose which 51 skin you want to include the WWII helmet with.
-
Errm, I don't think the helmet has a pilot...:smartass:
-
I usually make myself as level as I can and then engage attitude hold before I engage auto-level, this trims it up and stops the autopilot from bouncing the nose 40 degrees up and down, but even that won't work if your AoA is too high. I haven't had any experience with it rolling yet though.

Do those keys ([ and \) work ok in any other program?

Situational Awareness - The Virtual Battlefield Journal
Mar replied to FLANKERATOR's topic in Multiplayer
This looks like a promising way to help new guys like myself get into the multiplayer scene quickly. I'm going to make it my second home page. -
I've finally decided to go at it online, but I don't know where to start. Getting involved in a new community has always been hard for me so I hope you guys can bear with me. A little info about myself: First thing to note is I come from Aces High, a MMO WWII aviation combat sim. I've flown there for over six years and still have an active subscription. I've always been a fighter at heart and not much of a ground pounder. The 1 on 1 dogfight is where I'm strongest, though I understand that it will take a great deal of time to become as proficient in Flaming Cliffs as I am in Aces High. I live in the U.S. Central time zone. I work full time Mon-Thu and my job usually leaves me exhausted afterwards, so I can only get my flight time in over the weekends. I have a good microphone and TeamSpeak 3, however I have only used TS once and would require additional assistance understanding how it works. Now with the above information in hand, I would ask you gentlemen if you could direct me to the noob-friendly server or squadron that would be best suited for helping me learn the aspects of air combat in Flaming Cliffs 2 (and hopefully soon, Flaming Cliffs 3). <<S>>

You're right, I didn't fire an Aim-7, I fired an Alamo (R-27ER) as I said in my post. Track broken by mods. Here is a tacview acmi. Notice how I tried to get altitude on him but he always knew exactly how high I was despite my jammer being active. One Shot One Kill.zip
