  1. You realize that post was six months ago right? There's no way that track will work now. Tracks hardly ever work anyway.
  2. It was saturation Y down to 30.
  3. You do not need to do anything special for this. When you check invert the axis is displayed incorrectly, but will still behave as you expect in the sim. Set all other options/deadzone first so you can use the visual aid then check invert last. Honestly, DCS has one of the best axis assignment and tuning interfaces of all the games I know. It just gets a little confusing when you check invert. :) Just noticed you were tuning brakes for the Sabre. I brought down one of the saturation sliders to 30 or 35 to make it so the brakes will max out at 30/35% with my pedals all the way down. The brakes never lock up for me now. I'll check my game settings when I get a chance and post exactly what I did for you.
  4. Is the target stationary? Are you flying directly at the target when you lock on? If not, this post could explain the maverick missing, but I would be very surprised if they haven't fixed that issue by now. It's worth testing at least.
  5. All better now. :) Can't wait to fly it.:joystick:

    TAD for DCS F-15C

    TAD for DCS F-15C

I want to try this out but the instructions are incomplete. What am I supposed to do with the pc folder? Or the .DS_Store files?
  9. Glad you got it fixed. :)
  10. I have no idea why plugging your stick directly into the computer worked the way it did, but you should know that the game will always be "frozen" or paused when you first load a mission in singleplayer. The briefing screen should show immediately with a fly button somewhere on the bottom that you can click to unpause the mission, or you can unpause with the pause|break key (if your keyboard has it) and close the breifing with Esc. But if you already knew and did all that you can just ignore me. :)
  11. I understand that he wants to tune his afterburner detent. Somewhat tricky. First go in game and see exactly where the afterburner begins with no curve. Once you find it keep it there and bring up the axis in your controls. Now try to mark the position of the black square with your finger or something (wiggle the throttle ever so slightly if it shows in the middle). Then check slider, and give it negative curve until the black square ends up on the marked position when you bring the throttle to the detent. Check it in the plane and adjust the curve from there until th engines are just under afterburner when at the detent.
  12. You're never too green to benefit from advice! Ask questions, get answers!
  13. CH Fighterstick, ProThrottle, Pedals, and a fourth virtual device for a couple advanced functions. All four have to be saved separately for each plane.
  14. I was wondering about that, does it save ALL controls for ALL planes or just the current one? EDIT: Holy cow, now I remember why I never bothered with trying to back up my controls. The HTML save is only to make a list of your assigned controls for the current plane that can be viewed in a web browser, and it can't be used to restore your controls in game. The save profile is only to save each separate configuration for each separate controller in each separate plane one at a time. If you load the wrong profile you can't undo it by hitting cancel on the bottom. Now please excuse me while I redo my F-15 controls... again.
  15. No problem! Pop on teamspeak any time and scream bloody murder at me or kips and if we're not too busy with something to else well start blowing stuff up together! By the way, I'm pretty good in the KA-50 and the A-10 myself, so if you need help with them let me know.
  16. Pause the game with 'Esc' in any singleplayer mission and you'll see the option to open the controls menu. This does not work in multiplayer though.
  17. We do take things seriously when we fly, but not too seriously. :) For example: I like to keep my 15s using proper brevity, but only because this makes us better fighters, not because I'm a hardass.
  18. Check out the website under Join Today, there you will see the ones we focus on.
  19. I'll yell at him anyway, it's fun. :)
  20. We try to have missions every Friday night at about 9pm central, but if you hop on our team speak you can usually catch me almost all afternoon and I can slap something simple together for us. Edit: I'm busy at the moment, I should be on TS later today. P.S. I'll be having words with Kippy for you. ;)
  21. We do need fast movers! So far it's just me and one other 15 pilot covering the hawgs, we need at least two more.
  22. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140440 See posts 4 and 6 in that thread. You don't have to do anything different, labels are not module specific.
  23. Right, apologies for not mentioning that. Most files in Saved Games DCS are optional settings.
  24. Scat went through radar SA with me in some BVR engagements, told me a few tricks with the radar, including something I never would have guessed: the fact that you can change pulse frequency in TWS. He showed me the mindset of considering constant closure in a BVR fight and to adjust where to look with the radar accordingly. All I need now is more practice doing that.:) We had some guns dogfights before he had to run. Nothing I needed to learn there, but a blast none the less!
  25. For anyone who wants to know... The file is located at Users\XXXX\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View Back up the file first, then... The file itself explains how the icons work pretty well, but in case there is any confusion I will try explaining it in my own words. You will see Air, Ground, Navy, and WeaponFormat. Each line of the same format is a distance step. The effect described in the line will be in effect FROM the previous line UP TO the current line's distance. The distance is in meters. The file provides the symbols for each effect. "%N" will display the aircraft (or vehicle, ship, etc) type, "%n" (note lower case n) will have the next item be displayed under the previous items, etc. Example: AirFormat = {} -- leave this line be AirFormat = [500] "}%N%n%D%n%P" from 0 up to 500 will show: } F-15 xxNM New Pilot "}" is used for the icon that will display right on top of the object, but it won't show exactly the same symbol in game, more testing is need to know what characters will produce what symbols. Airformat = [1000] "}%N%n%D" -- from 500 up to 1000 the %P (pilot name) will be omitted Airformat = [5000] "`" -- from 1000 meters up to 5000 only a very small line will be shown. There will be no icon beyond the distance of the final line. At the bottom of the file: ColorAliesSide = (Red coalition icon color) ColorEnemiesSide = (Blue coalition icon color) I personally decided to go with black (0,0,0) for both sides. I tried grey but I continued to have problems with having planes completely vanish in front of my eyes if they go under the horizon, even when very close, under half a nautical mile.
