L-15B, a wishlist and suggestion for future modules.
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
This is awesome. It seems that this L-15 thing is even better than the South Korean T-50. We must have this. Deka once express their wish to take a break from making MFD aircrafts, because it is hard. But if this is very much the same as the JF-17, then it will save a lot of work. So I think plane will get more profit for them while for less work and effort. -
Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I just found this supposed J-8II model made by Deka. If I remember, J-8F is the only variant with 2 wing fence. If so, that means the model is already made. That means we have high hope of getting J-8F -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Only if they can be accurately modeled. I don't know if the EF can model those accurately, if not, I am not buying it. Actually, as far as I know, the EF we are going to get is one of the least capable version which only have AIM-120 for BVR attack. -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Nope, things like R-37 are very much classified. So they won't be properly modelled. As a flight sim, we are here for realism. Nothing should be buffed or nerfed unless it is for accuracy sake. If Mkk2 can't be done, then it can't be done. F-16, 18 and 14 watch you from datalink. Well, that's their feature. If it is accurately modelled, then it is not their fault. In fact some people were saying that JF-17 should be nerfed because it has better staff than many other western planes. If they play the game just to sooth their nationalist ego, they should go and play ace combat, where they won't even encounter any Chinese plane and they can mod the plane into whatever flashy thing they like. So yes, Su-30 has the same weapon as the J-11A, but it is also a 2 seater plane with full range of air to ground capabilities. That's its selling point. But don't put your hopes up. Because as of this moment, Deka couldn't even get enough data to model Mkk. I am just happy if they can role out their next module as quickly as they can, whatever they chose. -
Also, SD-10 is a downgraded variant of PL-12. So some feature maybe lost. In fact, avionic and sensory wise, JF-17 is very much a downgraded J-10.

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Dude, this is a flight simulation. Not a game. Fairness should only be achieved via getting a better plane or a better variant of plane. If it is the MKK, then it is MKK. Deka only make Chinese modules, so if you want something better, you will have to ask for MKK2 or MKK 3 or even a J-15 or J-16. But as of right now, there isn't even enough data for MKK as it is. So we are definitely not getting the MKK2. I doubt we will have enough data to make R-37M or the Meteor. You are not excused :P -

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
First of all Su-27 is an air superiority fighter with no air to ground capability (dump bomb and unguided rocket don't count). Su-30 is a multirole fighter bomber. Basically the Russian version of F-15E strike eagle. It has a full range of air to ground weapon for precision strike, antiship, SEAD etc. missions. Su-27's radar use S-band, that's why sometimes you lose radar lock then your enemy flies much lower than you. And Su-27 made it worse since it has no fox 3 missiles. If you lose your lock after R-27 launch, your R-27 won't be able to hit anyone. Su-30 on the other hand use X-band radar, the same type of radar used by F-15C. On top of that it has fox 3 missiles like the R-77. -
Has Deka decided yet? What's their next module?
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Who would want a transport? Also, I don't think there was any patriotic drama. Why would people call Z-10 a Russian design when they only did $3 million worth of testing work? After taking $3 million, they spend 2 years just to build a wooden model for testing, and all of a sudden that's a Russia design? What are they? Vitamin B6 deficient? People trying to correct it is not a patriotic drama. Just give you an idea how little $3 million is, the design project of Apache cost $11 billion. A single Apache's fly away price is $33 million. -
HQ-2B is a must since it is so iconic. At the same time, I wish ED can fix the current SA-2. Because I don't think they work at the moment.

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I don't know. PLAAF certainly has the far more capable J-15 at their disposal. Like JH-7, Su-30 is kind of getting sidelined (if that's the right expression) and no longer in production (or ordered in Su-30's case). So, maybe, if Deka can get enough data on it. For the Russian made variant like Su-30, it is up to the Russia now, depend on whether or not they are willing to release enough data for us. -
How come Chinese liveries are the only liveries that are missing?

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
yep, $100 per seat I am dying to get my hand on a 4th gen fighter that is in the front line service of PLAAF or PLANAF. It can be J-10A, J-11B, or Su-30. I personally have about $300 budget max for a module like that with ASM. -
Well. Since those variant are extinct and unique. I think the word you are looking for is Chinese Variant. In terms of performance, since they are better, then the correct term would be upgraded variant.

Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Assume that's true for a sec. First of all, it proves J-10 is an indigenous design. Secondly, what you said only applies to early various of J-10A. Because there were numerous upgrades and overhauls in later variants in terms of EW system, FBW and other avionics. J-10B has an indigenous PESA radar, while J-10C has an indigenous AESA radar, not to mention it uses PL-10 and PL-15, which are both Chinese missiles. -
MiG-17F is not that much of a step up from the MiG-15. IMHO, MiG-17PF is the only way to go. It has radar, rwr, cannon and may be missiles (K-5 and K-55) as well. It will be a perfect match for future F-86L.

Please help. I bought MiG-21 a few years back but never had a chance to play it. Today I have gone through most of the pilot manual and I am trying to map out the keys. However I couldn't find the buttons for controlling the "nosecone position manual controller" (both increase and decrease) and the "SRZO IFF power". On top of that, many buttons like "target size +/-", "Target angle" can't be mapped on the F-16MFD controller. If you know where are those controls, please let me know. Or is this a bug that is going to be fixed for the upcoming 2.0 version. Please help. Thanks very much.

Not just F-3. There are 2 more well know fighters are capable of taking on MiG-17 on equal terms. Dassault Mystere 4 and the Hawker Hunter. They are both designed and released at the same era. It will be awesome if we get MiG-17PM. It has both gun and missiles as well as a radar and a RWR.

I remember the old version of the sinodefence.com. That is years ago, before they remodeled the webpage, they once stated that PL-5 was the Chinese attempt to produce a missile that is capable to match the AIM-9G. And the result showed that PL-5 was indeed matched the AIM-9G in many if not all aspects (presumbly China got the data of the AIM-9G from Pakistan to compare with). Later the PL-5E basically had an addition of an all aspect IR tracker to match the modern tactical standard. The PL-5E-II was (I think, if I remember correctly) a missile to match the AIM-9L. And I think there was a PL-5B before the E version. Compare to the standard PL-5, B version had a somewhat better tracker and improved "computer" (or whatever it was called) to somewhat reduced the chance of being fooled by the flare.

There is, actually. The US F-3 Demon will be the perfect opponent for MiG-17. MiG-17 has better climb rate while F-3 has some basic version of the AIM-7 like AIM-7B for longer range targeting. In terms of speed, MiG-17 is faster at medium and high altitude while F-3 is fast at low altitude. Since back then there is no look-down-shoot-down capability for the SARMs, MiG-17 can go low if you want to avoid long range engagement, but then that would give F-3 a speed advantage.

Sure, why not? I am willing to pay another $60 for a MiG-17. Especially if it is the version which allow you to carry R-13.

Can we have some Russian plane like La-7 Please? I just realised that all planes that are discussed here are western planes and German planes. Can we have some Russian planes like La-7 please. So we can finally more on from the old IL-2 series and move into the DCS completely. :)
