Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
PLAAF replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
yep, $100 per seat I am dying to get my hand on a 4th gen fighter that is in the front line service of PLAAF or PLANAF. It can be J-10A, J-11B, or Su-30. I personally have about $300 budget max for a module like that with ASM. -
Well. Since those variant are extinct and unique. I think the word you are looking for is Chinese Variant. In terms of performance, since they are better, then the correct term would be upgraded variant.

Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Assume that's true for a sec. First of all, it proves J-10 is an indigenous design. Secondly, what you said only applies to early various of J-10A. Because there were numerous upgrades and overhauls in later variants in terms of EW system, FBW and other avionics. J-10B has an indigenous PESA radar, while J-10C has an indigenous AESA radar, not to mention it uses PL-10 and PL-15, which are both Chinese missiles. -
MiG-17F is not that much of a step up from the MiG-15. IMHO, MiG-17PF is the only way to go. It has radar, rwr, cannon and may be missiles (K-5 and K-55) as well. It will be a perfect match for future F-86L.

Please help. I bought MiG-21 a few years back but never had a chance to play it. Today I have gone through most of the pilot manual and I am trying to map out the keys. However I couldn't find the buttons for controlling the "nosecone position manual controller" (both increase and decrease) and the "SRZO IFF power". On top of that, many buttons like "target size +/-", "Target angle" can't be mapped on the F-16MFD controller. If you know where are those controls, please let me know. Or is this a bug that is going to be fixed for the upcoming 2.0 version. Please help. Thanks very much.

Not just F-3. There are 2 more well know fighters are capable of taking on MiG-17 on equal terms. Dassault Mystere 4 and the Hawker Hunter. They are both designed and released at the same era. It will be awesome if we get MiG-17PM. It has both gun and missiles as well as a radar and a RWR.

I remember the old version of the sinodefence.com. That is years ago, before they remodeled the webpage, they once stated that PL-5 was the Chinese attempt to produce a missile that is capable to match the AIM-9G. And the result showed that PL-5 was indeed matched the AIM-9G in many if not all aspects (presumbly China got the data of the AIM-9G from Pakistan to compare with). Later the PL-5E basically had an addition of an all aspect IR tracker to match the modern tactical standard. The PL-5E-II was (I think, if I remember correctly) a missile to match the AIM-9L. And I think there was a PL-5B before the E version. Compare to the standard PL-5, B version had a somewhat better tracker and improved "computer" (or whatever it was called) to somewhat reduced the chance of being fooled by the flare.

There is, actually. The US F-3 Demon will be the perfect opponent for MiG-17. MiG-17 has better climb rate while F-3 has some basic version of the AIM-7 like AIM-7B for longer range targeting. In terms of speed, MiG-17 is faster at medium and high altitude while F-3 is fast at low altitude. Since back then there is no look-down-shoot-down capability for the SARMs, MiG-17 can go low if you want to avoid long range engagement, but then that would give F-3 a speed advantage.

Sure, why not? I am willing to pay another $60 for a MiG-17. Especially if it is the version which allow you to carry R-13.

Can we have some Russian plane like La-7 Please? I just realised that all planes that are discussed here are western planes and German planes. Can we have some Russian planes like La-7 please. So we can finally more on from the old IL-2 series and move into the DCS completely. :)

What does need DCS WWII to be the best simulator. [Exigent Wishlist]

Do I have to confirm it myself somewhere? Because I didn't notice any new activation points after 30 days. A few month ago I bought this Su-27 Campaign. It had 3 points in total. Yesterday I reinstalled everything and it told me that I have 1 more point left.
-
Sorry for ask, this is probably stupid question. I just want to know what happen once I used up all my activation points? Do I have to buy it again?
-
Never mind. I just figured it out. We need to use manual update in the start menu, not DCS updater.

I just bought the new Su-27 campaign to support the ED. However, as I tried to install the campaign, the installer tells me that I can't install it because I am currently running the older version of the game. But there isn't a new patch. I tried use the DCS updater, but still no new patch. Please advice. Thanks

I have been flying the Su-27 campaign recently and so far I have found 2 bugs. 1: Please see the picture attached. 2: The Su-27 spot light on its forward gear is NOT working. You can switch it on and see it is on. But it does no light effect in the area in front of the plane. I run out of the parking way because I couldn't see what was in front of me. I'll try to get some screen shots later. I did take some screen shots before but it is not there for some reason.

Thanks guys. by the way, is there any good infantry combat mission that has already been made? Basically, I am trying to convince one of my friend to play flight simulation. However he is not a flight sim kind of guy. He is more into those exciting close quarter combat such as FPS games. So I might be able to convince him to play as Mi-8 or UH-1, since they do go low and dirty with the infantry. Does anyone know any missions that has intense fighting between infantry, Armors and other ground forces? Even better if you have a track or a video for it. So I can show it to my friend and he might be convince to pilot one of the chopper. Thanks in advance. Also please let me know if there are servers that kind of missions. Thanks :)

Hey guys, I don't have Combined Arms. But I have just watched some videos about it with infantry in it. Can this really add infantry for a fight? That will be so cool. And if it can, can anyone teach me how? Thanks.

I have been testing this every time when I catch an airplane. Look down at a city from the plane at an altitude of 8000 meters and if there is no fog, you can see those cars on the high way. But in DCS we can barely see F-15 size plane from 5000 meters away and as far as I know F-15 is much bigger than cars. I just want to know if ED is planning to introduce a patch in future to fix it. Please let me know if you have any information on this. Thanks. :)

After the release of the Su-27 Module, I heard they have a lovely theme for Su-27. However, for FC3 owners like myself don't get the theme even we get the patch for free. May I ask, can we please have the theme and music as well? Thanks very much.

Would you pay for Su-27 if it come out as a separate DCS standard module.
PLAAF replied to PLAAF's topic in DCS Wishlist
Actually, that is not silly at all, mate. It seems that the ED is not fully committed to work on the old planes from the lock on series due to the financial issue. On the one hand ED want to bring all the planes to DCS standards, on the other hand, they are very ethical business men who don't want us to pay twice for the same plane. But without an income for those planes, it is hard for them put more work in them. We all know how much it can cost them for hiring people to work on those program. That is a large amount of money. So I am just showing that we are actually willing to pay and they have our support in bringing good old aircraft like the Su-27 to DCS standards.
