Tickle - automatically rotate missions on your server
cfrag replied to cfrag's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Version 1.1.0 - functional update Some dedicated server interfaces do not provide access to the 'shuffle' option. Now Tickle does (use the (new -shuffle command), and automatically saves the modified setting to your server's serverSettings -
DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
cfrag replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
I believe it would help tremendously if you could show a screenshot of the relevant trigger zones. That being said (but I'd like to verify this) now that you report this I believe that an issue might arise with the way that Lua looks at tables: the first element is element 1. If you are using 0 (neutral) as an index, i'm not sure what that will return, nor how we can easily use coalition into that sequence. -
My apologies for being unclear. I've set up the "Flight Line" server to rotate between missions automatically every 4 hours. It's publicly available 24/7 and requires no password to join. This had me stumped for a while until I realized that you probably saw "Heroes of flame" active on my development server 'DML Testbed'. That server I use to develop missions and tech for DCS missions, and it is mostly closed to the public. Simply wait until it rolls around on "Flight Line". I'm still working on the mission randomization algorithm.

Just to make sure: you would like some longer-range SAR missions in "Angels", i.e. some 5-10 minute ingress? If so please let me know, as long ingress was stated as one of the "no-go"s from some of my testers. I could try and set up an outer ring of long-range SAR for Angels Caucasus if there is interest. If so, what do you regard as agreeable (these missions are about fun, not being tedious, so I'm trying to balance the game)

Version 1.1.0 - 20240930 Download (ED User files): here stupid null (ED, do something, please!) WHAT IT IS “Tickle” allows owners of Eagle Dynamic’s DCS servers to automatically rotate missions in your 'server playlist' on a time basis (e.g. after 4 hours) and allow specially authorized players to interactively (via mission chat) change the currently running mission In other words, Tickle allows you to set up your server to rotate the missions in your server's ‘mission play list’ every (e.g.) two hours. When active, the server changes the active mission every 2 hours to another mission from that play list. This can help you to keep your server ‘fresh’ for you and your players by serving up ever-changing missions automatically. For example, I used Tickle to set up a ‘helicopters’-themed server to cycle between six helicopter rescue sandboxes and change the active mission every 240 minutes (4 hours). [Note: To see Tickle in action, please head over to "cfrag's Flight Line" (no password) that is currently set up to stand in for the great rescue servers until they return, with 6 helicopter-based SAR/C-SAR and firefighting missions in a 4-hour rotation] Also, server owners (and players who are authorized) can interactively change the currently playing mission simply by issuing chat commands (this requires the authorized person be on-line and inside the game). INSTALLATION Installation is once-only, and drag-and-drop: Put "tcliGUI.lua" into your <saved games>/DCS/Scripts/Hooks folder Restart DCS [Tickle is fully compatible with dedicated server, tested with Fox3 hosting (no affiliation except being a happy customer)] AUTHORISING Read the manual that comes with Tickle. Authorizing players is very simple to do, but boring. Requires a text editor like Notepad and some 30 seconds of your time (open file, edit user name, save) FEEDBACK Please submit your feedback to this thread, or contact me via PM. Sorry, I'm a dinosaur, there is no discord channel for Tickle Enjoy, -ch

I know that nothing can replace the original, and I do not attempt to. Until the great SAR servers return, please allow me to humbly offer up my dedicated server "cfrag's Flight Line" (no password required) that has the following helicopter-based missions in a 4-hour rotation (meaning that the mission changes every 4 hours): Angels of Caucasus (Caucasus SAR) Angels of the Levant - Syria (Syria SAR) Angels of the Levant - Sinai (Sinai SAR) Cesar Caucasus (Caucasus CSAR) Dustblower MPT (Syria Helicopter Landing Competition) Heroes of Flame (Caucasus Helicopter Fire-Fighting) Let's hope for a speedy return of the originals. Cheers, -ch

DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
cfrag replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
If I understand @Panthir correctly, he performed some open-heart voodoo on some the scripts, and now wants to know how he can retro-fit my changes to the sources that he changed. Since I can't afford to support scripts modified by other people, he might be slightly up a proverbial creek. -

Uh. I don't keep details, but you easily run a diff between the two versions. I think Github also provides the relevant view. -

Version 2.3.3 - 20240926 - Minor Update A few more busy weeks. DML appears to be stabilizing (most of the DCS bugs identified and bridged, some can't be fixed without ED's help) and this update is thankfully small. Behind the scenes I'm working on a new module that is quite different, and that I'm sure that many of you contributors will appreciate. It's not ready for prime time, and I'm hoping to be able to tell you more with the next release. Changes in Detail: Documentation Main Various corrections Quickref Various corrections Demos (none) Modules - persistence 3.0.1 - corrected a typo in shared data fallback code - playerScoreUI 3.0.1 - DCS Jul-22 code hardening - Scribe 2.0.3 - improved time measuring by switchiong from passive (event based) to active Enjoy, _ch -

It also means that I'm a bit mystified why you don't try this yourself... -
DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]

Yes. -
That would probably be csarManager.createCSARMissionFromZone(). The issue that you are bound to run into is removing the mark once you pick up the evacuee. Perhaps scour csarFX for that, I think that would be the best place to put the mark and remove it again as you also need a place to store the mark reference.

Huh. My creaky old rig is still on a 2080, with a vivePro 2 VR. Mayhaps you demand more visual splendor than I do, although I do remember that one of my recent missions (the COIN one, I think) is really unkind, and requires some 4 minutes to stabilize before I can attempt a flight. Hopefully ED get a grip of DCS's memory management soon.

Where is the server's current mission list file?
cfrag replied to cfrag's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Ha! Thank you so much! -ch -
Ah. That's 'stopGap' eye candy (boring empty player slots filled with more interesting static representations of the aircraft). I'll add an option so you can disable it in-game from a menu. That being said, if a couple of static objects bring down your rig (in VR, I know), I guess it's time to either take down some of the graphics options, or splurge on new hardware.

I'm sure that this is an easy question, I'm merely too noob to figure it out. There (I think) is a list that contains all the missions that the server should 'play', and that can tell the server which mission is the next. You can even save a list with the Web GUI. If you set up an ad-hoc server, you can create such a list, and it is persisted. But where is the actual (real, active) list for the server located at and what is it called? I can't seem to figure it out. Any hint appreciated.
