I really like the Shark, I like the way the systems are that little bit differant to western systems and im not used to flying a chopper. Its a powerful beast when put to good use. But yeah, get A10C its equally awesome in a more western polished way! And you will get upto speed on the systems for when the final release is out.

Harrier... :) Would be even more awesome now they are going out of service. -
lol? F35s are already on order, wont be in service untill about 2020 I imagine. There was a rumour that we would lease some F18's but that has been put to bed now. We could mod the Chinooks and Merlins with Mavericks I guess :joystick:

Well the Nimrod MR2 was already retired earlier this year, and now the new MRA4s have been scrapped. So yeah unfortunately the Nimrod has been given the axe good and proper. UK's military is now a shambles :(
-
We also have got two new shiney carriers with no jets to put on them... fail!
-
The Harriers endurance wasnt ideal either, the RN Carriers were positioned well away from the action due to the threat of Exocets. So really we can call the endurance issue equal, the 'la Muerta Negra' did good :)

A Harrier will pull upto 2Gs with the nozzles at braking stops, that's a fact. If anyone says otherwise they are ill informed or making assumptions.

Its a good job they haven't just found oil in the Falklands really.... oh hang on....

Just been given the news, run down will be pretty quick. Sad day for RAF and Navy a big chunk of British military history and engineering down the pan.

Theres a good story that 801 Sqn pilots will tell you about their last tactical flight, 5 FA2's against 4 GR4s, 2 Jags and 5 5 F15s... all enemy aircraft destroyed. I know that GG will have an intelligent excuse for the Eagles demise but im happy in the knowledge that the Harrier can kick ass. Hey ED, get the Harrier made so we can put all this to the ultimate test ;)

Lemme buy you a beer and we can argue over that, you know what you know and I know what I know. I vote for Harrier by the way :P -
Its kinda amusing how you pretty much dismiss one persons figures on Harrier A2A performance and then expect us to have faith in yours. Comments I have heard from real Harrier pilots are mostly the opposite of your comments. 75% is impressive for an aircraft that lacks superiority in every way ;) You can sing whichever tune works best for you, Harrier gets the job done, fact ;)

Im glad some people on here are seeing sense and dont just believe what they like about these silly US jets! :joystick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtQRHm1CZdI captain slow takes one for a spin

Wow some of the guys at ED dont know much about aircraft, Im suprised at how many of you guys really think the Harrier is a bad dogfighter, everyone seems blinded by their faithful f15 and f18s. The Harriers anhedral wings actually increase its ability to turn by being inherently unstable, I doubt there is many aircraft that can roll as fast as a Harrier. Harrier already proved itself against fighters made in the last 40 years, shot down mirages for fun. Back to school for you guys!
-
Thers plenty of fixed wing aircraft in DCS, not all flyable.. and none of them can hover.. Dogfighting the Harrier will kick most fighters asses thanks to its agility, GR9 only has aim9s so BVR isnt its strong point :P The FA2 was a different matter though.. FA2 + AMRAAM = Awesomness. Anyway, you said I could have a Harrier so run along and get making it ;)

I think it defaults to T/O trim when you enter the sim, if you run the HUD BIT (cant remember its name!) it tells you to set T/O trim and neutral yaw trim but just skips past to the next test, as if T/O trim is already set.

Anti-skid = ABS :smartass:

I was under the impression that all fixed wing aircraft in DCS stalled at 60kts? Could be wrong though! Not sure what you would consider a lower capability threat? Harriers A2A record is up there with the best. 20-0 in the Falklands and usually kick ass at red flag and acmi ranges.FA2 has 'what is described as one of the most advanced pulse doppler radar systems in the world' ;)

Sea Harrier FA2? ;) The Harrier variants have everything, carrier ops, BVR, LGBs, Mavs, Sniper, VTOL, Helmet Mounted Cueing, JTAC(iPaq), Brimstone!! and it would be interesting to see how the game engine handled transitions to hovers and forward flight! -

Harrier? ;) -
My Ailerons stick up a bit also, cant be stick cal as it would only be one aileron sticking up! Do the ailerons droop or stick up as part of the TO trim?

I guess being such a tough aircraft to fly its expected that people here might think they arent up to the task ;) For example, that crash at Khandahar was pilot error :pilotfly:
