  1. I think it defaults to T/O trim when you enter the sim, if you run the HUD BIT (cant remember its name!) it tells you to set T/O trim and neutral yaw trim but just skips past to the next test, as if T/O trim is already set.

  3. I was under the impression that all fixed wing aircraft in DCS stalled at 60kts? Could be wrong though! Not sure what you would consider a lower capability threat? Harriers A2A record is up there with the best. 20-0 in the Falklands and usually kick ass at red flag and acmi ranges.FA2 has 'what is described as one of the most advanced pulse doppler radar systems in the world' ;)
  4. Sea Harrier FA2? ;) The Harrier variants have everything, carrier ops, BVR, LGBs, Mavs, Sniper, VTOL, Helmet Mounted Cueing, JTAC(iPaq), Brimstone!! and it would be interesting to see how the game engine handled transitions to hovers and forward flight!
  5. My Ailerons stick up a bit also, cant be stick cal as it would only be one aileron sticking up! Do the ailerons droop or stick up as part of the TO trim?

  8. I guess being such a tough aircraft to fly its expected that people here might think they arent up to the task ;) For example, that crash at Khandahar was pilot error :pilotfly:
  9. How about the ECR aswell? Doesnt that carry about 6 or 8 ALARMs? :) Im a dirty Harrier bloke but I think its a bit too similar to the A10, Tonka it is then! :) Can we get the Mach Loop terrain too? :) Not quite a Harrier though..
  10. I believe RAF/RN pilots were asked politely to stop VIFing due to it being deemed unfair on the multi-role fighters ;)

  12. And the GR9a isnt a multirole carrier based fighter? Throw in the Sea Harrier and you have everything you ever wanted. Hows a typical multi-role fighter more interesting than the only operational VTOL aircraft, ever ;)

  16. 10 minutes to get our sharks in the air? Maybe if you keep forgetting to turn the apu fuel on like I keep doing! :) 'why wont it start???' I find it quite rewarding hedge hopping under some Quakers to take out a convoy. I was rubbish at it at first, could almost have called me a Quaker too just charging in flat out. Now I like to sneak around the hills and valleys picking your air defenses off one by one. I wish I had a runway cratering missile to really spoil your day :) I think when dcs a10c is released choices will be limited, i think BS and A10c will only be playable with each other leaving the frag fest purely on the lomac servers. I don't think we will see a game with so many flyable aircraft again for a while which is a shame. Without the fighters it wont be as rewarding getting in and out of a target area.
  17. Noob question...how do I save and watch a track from multiplayer? Sorry I know it's pretty basic! Just limped home with engine 2 doing some funky things and wouldn't mind seeing what state my BS was in. Also, in the charlie-foxtrot (something like that!) mission is there a bug after reds destroy the farp the next target wont trigger? Just keeps saying the il is two minutes out. Cheers, great server!   19. Ah cool, cheers! Ill try find a systems diagram and have a nosey before I comment next time. Great training mission, beats the DIY training from BS :) I think most people will be more at home with a jet to start with aswell, cant wait :)
  20. Is it common practice on A10s to turn the Generators on before starting the engine? On jets ive worked on they are usually left off until the engine is running to reduce load on startup. Im not saying its wrong, its interesting to compare procedures!

  22. If I fly a good mission, land and rearm/fuel, take off and kill some more guys and land and quit... do i get two lots of double points or just one lots for being landed when I quit?
  23. I guess the duct above the left engine could be the apu intake and the duct above the right engine could be the API exhaust? Or the other way round!
  24. I can only comment on aircraft ive worked on(western stuff), but sometimes the APU and GTS (Gas Turbine Starter) come as one unit and you can only run in one mode at a time. If you start the APU first(for basic electrical systems) you can translate to GTS mode once your ready to start the main engine. Or you can just start straight into GTS mode. Its all run off of one unit so no need to transfer air, the unit in the pic with the exhaust looks just what im used to. I have some good system diagrams of GTS/APUs somewhere i can scan in. http://www.everettaero.com/lucas.html
