  1. Turn to tgt keeps you slightly outside the launch reticule doesn't it? You have to persuade it in with some rudder
  2. haha nice! Would an A10 engine stall at an angle like that?
  3. Harrier and Ark Royal :)
  4. Harrier airframes are relatively new and they have only just been modded up to GR9 with two more modifications bought and paid for, its costing the government 7 times as much to keep the Tornado's flying compared to Harrier, so no not really cheaper to scrap them.
  5. You will only ever see a Harrier do a vertical take off for display purposes, they are too heavy once you start strapping bombs maverick's and fuel tanks to them.
  6. Mine bricked last week, 20/4/11, just got the address to send mine back for repair or a new one.
  7. I just got their address to send mine back, they have been very good to be honest.
  8. My throttle just stopped working. Emailed the TM support..
  9. My throttle just died :( MS 7376 mobo.
  10. 200 hours without any electrical or avionic hiccup would be pretty good going, some aircraft need servicing every 250 hours.
  11. Haha cheers for clearing that rumour up, a cpl told me that while I was having a look around one years ago, think he must have been a stacker.
  12. Eddie I was under the impression that the cannon on the RAF Typhoon was there purely as ballast and would never actually be used on RAF jets?
  13. Aslong as they have enough spares down their to keep them serviceable, they are having enough trouble keeping the squadrons stocked up! The main deterrent to the Argies around the Falklands would be the British sub that may or may not be lurking in the waters. The Argentinian Navy would need to strap on a pair if they wanted to risk losing another major warship. There is also two more biggish Harrier mods bought and paid for sitting in boxes in the corner of a hangar ready to be fitted to the jets.
  14. Perhaps not entirely useful but, a mountain biking mate of mine swears by using those power balls to help with CTS. I dont know if its just a myth or anything but they certainly give your wrist a work out after some use! Get well soon buddy.
  15. 10 GR9's to make a return...? I doubt it, the government would never make such a u-turn. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/campaigns/our_boys/3532222/750m-Harriers-idle-as-Top-Guns-struggle-in-Libya.html#mySunComments
  16. Ive just started playing with the ME. Is it possible to get ships to fire cruise missiles from max range? They only seem to want to fire if they are close enough to see the target right on the coast.
  17. Harrier went out of service at the start of the year mate, they are looking at selling the airframes to someone at the moment. Yanks, Spain and India are the favourites to buy at the moment and there is enough training material to probably not warrant a contract. Its a sad state of affairs the whole Carrier/GR9/F35 balls up.
  18. GR7s and GR9s used to do plenty of carrier ops aswell. GR9 and FA2 in a pack would be awesome though :)
  19. It will work, you just wont be able to release at the range you could in F4. If it keeps you in cover and from over flying the target area its still a winner though
  20. Surely depends on the threat and terrain types though, a lot of the time its not ideal flying straight and level over the target! Popping up from under visual and radar and slicing back down after release has got to have its advantages. I know Tornados have toss bombed upto 4 miles range but they have an obvious speed advantage. Anything with GPS guidance has got to be a winner here, im off to give it a go! :)
  21. Also, if you exceed your max TO weight take off with less fuel and A2A refuel once your in the air
  22. Apache AH1 :)
  23. I thought when toss bombing you want to be increasing your climb angle as the bomb releases rather than at a steady angle, so you get the added effect of g force on the weapon to give you a bit more range? Good work though! I tried it earlier with 82s and they kept overshooting
  24. First chance to see the new Aston in action  Shame its a straight six now, the old V12 was just rude!
