  1. Pretty cool. I'm also beginning to build some panels as well. I've attached a drawing to show what it should look like when I'm done. I went with the hagstrom electornics keyboard emulator http://www.hagstromelectronics.com/products/ke_usb108.html . You can even program macros with each button. The question I have is, how did you do the engraving/labeling on the plastic? I have a cnc mill that I am trying to use to engrave 1/8" aluminum but it isn't as crisp as your lettering. I'll update my progress as I put this cockpit together.
  2. In FC2 I recall there being an indicator in the cockpit which showed whether or not the air brakes were on or off. In DCS a-10C the gauge is missing and the only way to check the status of the air brakes is to look out the window. In heavy fog you can't even see the air brakes. What happened to the indicator? Is there no way to check on the air brakes without looking out the window?
  3. thanks so much. got everything working. one more question. Now that I'm up and running on 64 bit, does dcs take more ram on its own as it needs it or do I need to assign it more ram? I have 6 GB Triple channel and want to give as much as possible to the game. If I assign more ram, how does one go about this?
  4. I am running Win 7 64 bit. I originally installed 64 bit. Couldn't get Track IR to work so I reinstalled 32 Bit and it worked fine. Since then I've installed all the latest DCS patches. Now I've Got Beta3 TrackIR running and want to go back to a 64 bit application but am a bit confused on how to go about it. I was hoping I didn't have to reinstall from scratch in then install 3 patches again. Thanks in advance for you help.
  5. I've just upgraded to trackir 5 beta 3 and now want to run dcs in 64 bit. I thought i could just launch the exe icon in the bin directory but i keep getting an error. I even right clicked the exe icon and ran as admin but no luck. Any suggestions? thanks.
  6. I've downloaded the recent trackir 5 beta 03 today and when I go to my trackir control panel to verify it works before launching dcs a-10, it doesn't work. The trackir application launches but when I move my head the trackir software doesn't respond at all. on the previous version i had (version 5.0) the camera light would turn on green and I could see the responses to head movement. Now nothing. I am running win 7 64 bit.
  7. I solved the issue myself. Apparently when assembling the joystick to it's base, the connection wasn't seated sufficiently. The computer recognized the base unit as plugged in but not the actual upper joystick hardware. When I tightened up the rotary screw nob, the computer recognized it.
  8. I've just got the Thustmaster Warthog Hotas for christmas and can't seem to get it recogized properly. I'm running windows 7 64 bit and I've installed the latest drivers for the HOTAS Warthog throttle and joystick. I've even updated the firmware. Under my devices, I can see the Throttle and right click the throttle and check the game controller settings. However, my system doesn't seem to recgonize the Joystick as a gaming device. Though it appears as a device, when I right click it, I can't get the properties page to show up. DCS A10-C doesn't think it is plugged in either. Again the throttles are recgonized by the game but the joystick isnt. The Joystick isn't an option when trying to program or tune my x and y axis. Same thing with the TARGET software. Throttle appears but not the Joystick. I've Emailed Thrustmaster and searched online for solutions but no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, once I get it up and running is there a Thrustmaster Target profile anyone out there has i can download? Thanks for any help.

  10. how did you get it to work? I'm going crazy. I set my band widths to produce a "W" key press but when I test it, nothing happens.
  11. I have a 30" lcd monitor from Samsung with a native resolution of 2560 x 1600. Does that change anything in regards to needing another video card?
  12. Thanks for the heads up on the ram. I'll make sure to go triple channel.
  13. I noticed in one of the replies that someone mentioned that having more than one video card really wouldn't help me. Is that true? Can anyone weigh in on the pros and cons of having multiple video cards for lockon or the especially the new dcs a-10c coming out soon. Also, how would having a solid state drive improve performance of these games? Please give me your opinions
  14. These are my Components for my desktop. Is this considered to be a good gaming desktop? Will a second video card make a huge difference?
