  1. ISO's are burning fine here with nero and starforce included. I suggest you look for some other source for your problem. Nate Nate, Read his post........, carefully. Im not sure what i'm missing here. Sorry. I can open ISO's in nero (starforce is installed) and burn them succesfully, is this not the problem he is having? Perhaps you could explain it to me Nate Nate, Your first post states you could still burn, he also said he could burn, but he could no longer read any ISO's created on his machine. If yours is working, then something is wrong. SF is suppose to disable your ability to burn ISO's or use Virtual Drives.
  2. Now that we have a Rep here from S-F, could I please have an answer to these important questions? These are critically important for any users in North America, who want to understand Privacy Legislation and Privacy Rights.

  4. Stormin, Sorry, just realized I wrecked your chance for every post on a page. More coffee !!!
  5. ????? benzene31, That was in reference to this thread: http://forum.lockon.ru/viewtopic.php?t=3579&start=15
  6. Everything ok? You dropped off the planet.
  7. Dmut or Wags, Could you please comment on Contract Survivability? If ED or SF closes the doors a month from now, how are the customers protected? Also, where is SF registered as a company and legally what district or State is Presiding? Or Country if it's not the USA. If ED and SF have a contract dispute, could SF prevent users from using the software in future? And could you please clarify the Manual Mode statement regarding Personal Information above? What constitutes Personal information and is my Hardware configuration not considered Personal Information? Also, based on what is stated above, I would expect that SF will no longer be installing drivers disabling the use of ISO images on a local machine?
  8. Tell that to zzzspace !!! Ask him how he feel's about having his machine porked by Star-F***.
  9. zzzspace, Based on the decision that ED has made with regards to Star-F***, I wonder if either of them will step up and compensate you for ruining your installation on your PC? Guess the next sound pack will be delayed...... What are your thoughts now zzzspace that you've seen this crazy situation first hand? This would have used up one of your three installations options.
  10. Why on earth did you spend any effort or time on the Demo patch and release if this was the case. The conditions being applied on a go forward are unacceptable to me, if this is the direction of PC computing, it's doomed for me. Better start your console version.
  11. I take it back. Should read ED "No Thanks".
  12. Edited for obvious reasons after update.
  13. I'm sorry to hear that zzzspace.
  14. Let's see what ED comes up with, everybody has posts about why or why not and I do think it's time to let ED figure out what they want to do. They may or may not decide to use it. As far as StarForce is concerned, nobody is talking. It's all user speculation, including my own issues with the product.
  15. very un-professional article. Author didn't understood how it works and all article is based on user opinions: "Users in our forums have grown increasingly irritated...", "Users report...", "...complains a user at <Gone Gold>", most funny one: "Users have developed this cleanup utility" - it was developed by SF company from the start. "The software also collects system information and creates an error report should anything go wrong." - author didn't even bother to test it. SF sends error information not quietly but only by user request, like Windows\Office\big-company-products does. Dmut, User opinions are important. Broadband Reports monitors user opinions who have purchased Broadband and other services. And the utility that was on the link, is not the one from StarForce. The Article comments on the negative postings, right or wrong on the Forum.

  17. That is a hugely presumptuous and very probably vastly inaccurate statement to make. Beater systems are cheap, heck most real gamers have parts all over the place from purchasing upgrades. If I'm working, I don't use my gaming system. I have a mid range box made from left overs. You don't need a rocketship for using a burner, MS-Office or reading email. Based on my squad, I can tell you 80% of the members have more than one computer. We've even had members send equipment to other members who don't have something (TiR for example).
  18. Funny thing is my burner is not even on my gaming system, are they not smart enough to realize most gamers these day's have a dedicated gaming system?
  19. It will also be a DVD release, not sure if a CD release is coming or not. Folks are guessing it's going to have S-F because of a statement in the Gold release announcement.
  20. I found a pretty good read about Star-Force, it may not answer all my questions but it does raise some good points. http://www.firingsquad.com/print_article.asp?current_section=Features&fs_article_id=1530
  21. Found this link after searching awhile: http://www.star-force.com/index.phtml?category=200&type=5
  22. Star-Force is back on my system, even though I uninstalled the Demo and manually deleted it. Anything I should know about getting rid of this that might be a problem? And what is the best method to clean my system of it.
  23. Jester, I'm just looking for answers and I do want to see ED do well with this release and the series. I'll sit back and see what happens. My reaction is justified though, make no mistake about it. Perhap's S-F is a good choice? I don't know, it's the feeding method that sent off alarms and the response to my questions from S-F. As I said in the other forum, I'll shut up now and see what happens.
  24. I'm happy to hold off until this whole S-F situation settles down, personally I'm concerned that even attempting to get information about the product is blocked by legal agreements. And I'm not spending extra legal dollars to proceed with my investigation. I need to be convinced and right now I'm not. It's to new, we have no idea who or what S-F is all about. But then again I work in Data Security and Identity theft is the biggest issue we deal with on a daily basis these day's. And if you say your are sure, it's only an opinion because right now with new versions being released to fix the previous ineffective release by S-F it's all a patch up the holes process. I'll shut up now on the subject. Carl, you should rethink your post. Many people are very surprised / alarmed to see these drivers in a Demo and my personal privacy is not a joke (or concern about it).
