was developed to counter new american fighters such as the mcDonnell douglas F-15 Eagle, and the general dynamics F-16 fighting falcon during that time period. mig is much smaller over the su27 and 33, main design features short range interception at high climb rates and speeds. smaller airframe less fuel and even with 3 external tanks the migs RD-33 power plants are thirsty for fuel. mig 31 was designed to counter US b-52 bombers and intercept the sr-71 blackbird and any other threats at very high altitudes, carry long range stand off missiles. mainly R-33 Amos

for the edge engine I think they are reworking much of the damage model, and will be continual process even after launch.

yes this as well LODS, but over all it was a good move ED decided to change this engine and upgrade it, current dx9 engine is starting to show its age, and lagging performance , some modules later I think will become more complex, require the newer dx11 engine for performance and newer effects. so I say roll on the new simulator engine quicker its implemented the better for everyone and most users with a dx 11 video card.

hopefully the new dx11 game engine will be a big boost for everyone, finally get away from ancient dx9. meantime u need to reduce fancy effects for now to gain decent frame rates. shadows are a big frame reducer, and incockpit. also current dx9 lighting effects are a hog, these can be turned off in advanced options.LUA

found some nam footage these aircraft in action , some of these ground crews working hard and taking some risks laying under 750 pound bomb racks. video above has no sound. footage quality is superb.

having traveled into Arkansas USA for family affairs, after all that dust was settled, I had time to travel the area and found a jemstone of a place, little museum airfield called "Aviation Cadet World" based in Eureka Springs, AR USA , sadly the day I arrived it was closed on sundays, but apparently when they are open, they give full cockpit guided tours of these mighty warbirds. = u get to sit inside them. I was totally awe struck at the size of the F-105 thunderchief , i am 6 foot 5 and the size made me look like a midget this jet, incredible engineering if u ask me for there time. not far behind the scale size was the F-100 super sabre also at this little air museum. anyone that lives near this location I highly recommend you going, I am sure to make another trip here again soon, and on a day that's open for the full tour. web site to little museum http://aviationcadet.com/ yours truly standing foreground of F-105.

Nvidia GTX 260OC dx 11 support on this card, even though its older gen card still works fine for me. also onboard intel HD 2000 graphics. ATM can run dcs on med to low settings. hopefully this chip can share some of the visual load in edge.

I can see we are getting newer ocean effects in the edge engine, note one of the mig 15 screens.
