Flaming Cliffs Boxed Version in Poland!!!
ZoomBoy27 replied to Kusch's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
at 0,00 zlotny Woohoo :icon_jook Looks like some details need to be firmed up. -
I think that the only part of the A-10 would be rendered obsolete would be the AGM-65K. What you sacrifice is that you get only 4 of the D's rather than 6 of the K's. Change your load out for mixed and recognize that anti-SAM work just needs different tools than the ones you're acustomed to. You can also take the step of having a wingman use a different load-out and then send him in to do his job. For A2G they're pretty good. In 1.02(in Coastal_Drive) I had a devil of a time with a Tor vs some K's. I swapped in some D's and had to work harder with the other weapons(Cannon mainly) to wreak the necessary havoc to complete the mission. The K's are good for convoy work especially Shilka and you should swap in accordingly. For SAM dispersal I just create a frontline of SAM circles that overlap and I also put an occasional SAM in the rear to guard strategic towns or junctions. The enemy does not have unlimited resources and must place them where he can get the most use out of them.

A small Mission Editor error: When you chose an Aircraft or Helicopter flight, the HIDE label does not appear next to the Button. It does for Static Objects and Ground Vehicles

I think it's hierarchic or hierarchic

According to the web-page it's not really ED's problem. The publisher is listed as EVOLVED GAMES. Hmmm puzzling. :icon_twis

Early 5/05 release of "Lock on Gold"

This discussion covers the basics but it relates to Electronics Boutique. What is the link to GameSpy - they might just be copying from another site. -
Key Commands--Sorted By Key

Saved to Docs folder. Thanks, it looks very useful. -
Had this same discussion on SimHQ: There is a boxed version that will be available for ordering but nothing has been heard about Electronics Boutique. See the Official Boxed Version Announcement by ED/Eagle Dynamics. ED's contract with Ubisoft prevents Western retail distribution so I don't know what that's about. We've seen this page before, mainly empty, but don't consideer it reliable. I think it likely it's just 1.02; that's all the rights Ubisoft has. If this gets LOMAC 1.02 back on the shelves, that'd be cool. But I think it's just the web-guy who thought he'd go to the original Lockon.ru web-site and dress-up HIS page with the Flaming Cliffs add-on. After all Flaming Cliffs is awesome looking and he's not likely to know. Note the error: And Evolved Games has nothing to do with Lockon. My reasonable suggestion is that the web page person just COPIED/USED the latest information from the Lockon web-page. It's practically cut and past with this Flaming Cliffs description. There's nothing on the Ubisoft Lo-MAC page about anything. Not evil just busy.

They say the Model for the 1.2 helicopter as been completed - I don't know if the flight model for it is done. They might want to use 1.2 as a test-bed for some ideas like a dedicated server(a dynamic campaign not likely) and other ideas. I don't know if they're doing that. This is going to be the last add-on for Lockon before the new game is started so they might spend time getting systems extra-stable to provide extra revenue. If it's just adding a helicopter and upping the ground detail, we'll get it before a year. If they use 1.2 as a test-bed, it'll be longer. That's my best guess.

Updated the Guide with the Auto-pilot(6 to 7 modes) and trimming info. Also included is a bit on the “Combat steering” mode.

From feed-back I've received, I will be adding an auto-pilot/trimming section. Just need to do some research before completing it.

Here is a new quick and dirty guide to get people up-to-speed and running in the Su-25T. New-comers should find it useful to get the plane up in the air and ready to play with the buttons. It covers the majority of useful commands and tips. Up-to-Speed Guide to the Su-25T Any errors or problems, let me know. Up-to-Speed Guides for both Su-25T and A-10

You know you've spent too long with LOMAC when...

... in MS Word you start to move the cursor by COMMA, PERIOD, SLASH/, SEMI_COLON and then wish you could program it into your flight-stick. -
this "add-on" is getting out of hand
ZoomBoy27 replied to ShaK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I've been reading that Bugs thread and a lot of it is discussion of what people THINK are bugs but are often features and other people yammering back and forth at each other over what is being modeled and test results of error reports. There are bugs but like the ones I've discovered - not earth-shaking ones. And Han the ED programmer has been reading through them and noting them or giving advice. Just read it for yourself, FC has got some bugs but it's not buggy. We are flight sim fans and know this stuff. A "Don't buy" recommendation due to the SIZE of a thread without reading the thread :icon_roll -
Until ED gets things sorted out, there's still going to be a group that flies 1.02 on-line. And if there's an easy way to fly both on Hyperlobby, why the heck not ?? It's just hard-drive space.

Auto-pilot in the plane changes the trims to meet the required attitiude and altitude. Ctrl-T resets the trimmers except AFM planes Su-25, Su-25T. For those you're best to choose a auto-pilot mode that levels you out 1st. When you do that and then exit auto-pilot altogether, hitting Ctrl-T accepts the level trims. Alt-3 Autopilot mode – transition to level flight (panic button) would seem to be the mode to use

In facing your rants, what exactly can we offer? You have not paid for it yet. And yet you have a sense you've been hurt and damaged. What sort of punishments would you want handed out? Buying problems: In order to get FC to the West because Ubi does not want to distribute it, they had to create their own distribution system from scratch. They've not got it done correctly and also have been let down by outside systems making promises - both paypal and Starforce. Punishments: for the last week they've gone without anyone able to buy FC since their Paypal account is closed, People not buying at all, People delaying until NaturalPoint and other retail outlets take their cut. Suggest more punishments. The choices they made came with risks and costs, especially Starforce. But you, as a late-comer, haven't had any risks as yet. Keep an eye on things for your own safety and to reduce or eliminate your risks but don't expect us to cater to your emotional needs. We've taken our own risk with our own money. And as I fly around in my Su-25T with it's awesome state-of-the-art AFM and Fantasmagoria plinking SAM-15s from 15kms away, my risk has paid off good. *** waggles wings in a beautiful sunlit sky ***

Best new feature for Flaming Cliffs
ZoomBoy27 replied to Ice's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I'd say it'd have to be the SEAD capabilities added to the Su-25T. Load the Fantasmagoria, AR missiles and You've got a whole new type of mission that can be run by a flyable. -
Diary of a 1.1 mission designer: Part One
ZoomBoy27 replied to Andrew_McP's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
No need to apologize for gloating!! DC will change LOMAC to a must-have modern standard. When you said "Almost there!", did you mean the alpha stage - you've got all the code in place? -
Maybe just check for nearby ground units.
-
From the attached picture you can see that ED might have some work to do in the 1.2 for roof-top items. I blew up the building below the Igla user and he was still standing and firing from mid-air. Maybe a secondary check for nearby objects is needed. That would make 1.2 much better. I did put a Shilka on a rooftop. Nothing too exciting - just a Shilka on a roof-top.

Activation Question - New Computer
ZoomBoy27 replied to firesoldier845's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
From what I've seen, the original plan was that an activation would be needed only if 40% of your equipment changed. But there were people who had activations(especially if set to automatic but not manual) for merely re-installing. ED has said that if you've reached your 5 activations, just send them an e-mail with codes for more activations. A few further reports in the last day have some people receiving an extra 10 activations without asking Next week when ED has the Verisign payment system up and running, we Might hear more about activations. so, the answer is likely but don't quote me on it :icon_hang EDIT: Schimmel gives a good tip on backing up registry key.
