F14D Ricks updates... Please stay on topic
rattler replied to MadMaxter's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Anything that is Payware, one should obtain permission to be on the safe side as each Country has it's own protection laws. For the Forums, it would be wise to ask the author for permission. That way you have no problems at all. I don't think I have ever heard of a forum modder turning down another fellow modder. This way you can do as you wish knowing that you will have no problems with your project. Very simple to do and gives you peace of mind. Hope that Max, Super and Myself have helped you in this matter. Keep those beautiful mods coming.cheers and best wishes.:) -
What I have to say to you has been checked out by a Lawyer in this Country. If there is no Patent, No Copywrite, No agreement signed at purchase. Then no law has been broken. Now Modders offer their work for free and unless there is a statement on how their work is to be used then no law is broken. It is an unwritten law on these forums that credit be given to who every has something that is used in another mod. That is a courtesy shown on these formum only and has no validity to the law. You have no rights if you give your work for free use by anyone who you make it available to. NOW: I agree that if you use a modders work in your mod you show him a courtesy by mentioning his contribution to your mod. If you Purchase a product and mod it and put it up as your own work then if the patent laws, copywrite laws and agreements on useage are in effect Then you can be sued. If you gain permission from said companies in writing then you break no laws. In other words the company is giving you a waiver to use their work as you wish. I am sure that no modder would put himself in that position. If he does then he pays for the conseqences of his action. Not for us to judge whether he has permisson or not. We can not assume one is breaking the law, we need proof or it is just speculation and to do that, as far as I am concerned is wrong. So I would be careful where I point a fingure because if your accusations are wrong then you are liable in the eyes of the law. There are several points of law you could be held liable for for making false statements. So be very careful what you say. You strike the Right Person and you will be the one in trouble. There is nothing to say that a modder has to show any proof for his work on any forums. Further more should he have to. If he breaks the law the Company will take the appropriate action. Not for us to judge ahead of time. Now can we let this drop please. This is getting nowhere. We wait till the mod comes out. Then the proof will be there for all to see.

Ya, you can wrestle a shark. Miami, Fl. I believe. Not very big one though. Maybe the person who mentioned it can find a video of one.Cheers.

Now this is a great way to turn a modder off. What is wrong? Seen too much of this. Reserve your opinion till the model is out. If you keep making these assumptions about modders, the community will suffer if they decide to stop. That is one thing WE do not need, if this sim is to progress. Try doing one of these for yourself, you might sing a different tune.:music_whistling::book:

Max, have you thought of dropping a line to simmodders, the old sim-mod team? If they can't help, I am sure they could give you the material you need to continue. Just a thought. cheers. Keep it up Max. VNAO is a great idea and am sure your pilots enjoy it. Sorry to hear about your modders. Wish you success in get the information and or help you need.

Does It really matter? We are getting a new and excellent F-14D for the community. That's the important thing.:)

Excellent thought Max!!

Both are excellent, The other is also a great plane and hard as hell to do and I won't take that away from any modder/s. This is very difficult work and a tremendous amount of time and dedication for any modder who does any type of mod, texture , wrap/unwrap, 3d model, animation and on and on. Some people are better at certain aspects of developing an aircraft and I see they are called upon to help out and that is what it is about. The other Tomcat and Rick's is just a matter of choice. Some may see things with Ricks that appeals to them and some will see things with the other that they like better. Both are excellent Tomcats and it shows in the work. Congrats to both for excellent Tomcats.

Not F-14D pic. F14D has different ejection sit for one. Look closer, lots of different shapes.

Still bites, ha ha. Enjoy as I am sure you are!!

VNAO has a pilot that salutes, I think when canopy comes down. It is an F2 look and the actual pilot is ED's default chutist. Is this what you mean? Or do a complete pilot to replace the ED one, chutist and all?
-
Tried that once.

Your a lucky man, say hi. Happy Valentine's.

No news and scarce replies. Everyone gone somewhere. Some quite in here now:cry:

If I come across the virgin files, I will send them. My files are highly modded. I may have an old disc before I change a lot of things. I will have a look for you. cheers.:)

Why not, sounds like a good idea to me. He bought the game, this is just helping with a problem due to a mod. A clean Meinit.xml file would be a good idea too. F18 could still be attached to the su-33. Just a thought. Would like to see us get him back to where he was. Modman should have taken all files out. I have done it hundreds of times. There is always that one time though. I learned to back up really quick, ha ha. cheer bro.
-
Did you clean any remnants from the registry? If not you will probably have this problem. Don't go into the registry if you have never been in it or know what to look for. If you have a friend you can get a copy of his su-33 files if not modded go into bazar/shapes folder and paste them in. That should get your su-33 back. Look at the f-18 su-33 files and mark them down. It is quite possible not all files were rewritten. You just have to replace the ones that the f-18 mod wrote. If you used Modman all you had to do was just uninstall the f-18 mod and all would have been ok. Hope this helps.Cheers.

Was the J39 automated pilot mod yours. I have it, waiting for your awesome mod. Have you scrapped that one and building a new one or was that someone elses mod. Let me check and I will see who made it. P.S. It does not say. There are 3 .bmp and a Pilot.Max file.

You have Lockon v1.02 installed. Not FC. The second disc will install v1.1 and a patch v1.12a for windows xp and v1.12b for vysta. In v1.02 the only way to get a flyable a/c other than what ED has is to find a mod. A very good one is the F18 for v1.02. VNOA tomcat mod is for FC. Lockonfiles.com have flyable aircraft and it will tell you what version of lockon they are for. In FC you can make all the aircraft flyable with a default SU-27 cockpit. You have to open the Meinit.xml folder and where it says human"no". change to yes. Now you can fly that aircraft. You need the password "eagle" to open the missions and select the aircraft then save it. You can call it another name using save as. Your second disc will carry the starforce protection where you have to enter the second disc every 7 days. V1.02 does not have starforce protection. Hope this helps you out. Cheers.:)

The only scenery mod you need is Merzifon 1.3, it has hanger mod, reload mod etc. already in this mod. check the readme file or the lockonfiles.com download for Merzifon1.3 , it should tell you what to remove that is duplicated. As far as I know you can use enhanced scenery mod and enhanced building mod. Parkbox mod can not be used. I have no idea of the simmod A10A, I don't use it. Hope this helps some. Cheers.

Why would anyone want Tomcat marking on such a beautiful aircraft? Each to his own taste I guess.

Can some please help me fix this? Orange sprites
rattler replied to Witchking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well if he does update the scenery file, the groundcrew v2 would also be nice and it conflicts with both. Use first Merzifon1.1 and loreload, you can use the groundcrew v2 but not the parkbox. So I lose hangers and parkbox. Also the new Raptor mode effects groundcrew2. All needs to be looked at and I think it is a big job to tackle getting all of these nice to have mods working together. Oh well hopefully someday. -

I am not sure about Birdy's scenery, he attached other mods to it. It should tell you which ones are in his scenery pack. I too miss the parkbox but other mods were more important than eye candy. Still wish that they would all work together though. Maybe someone will tackle that as a project if Tomcatz is satisfied to let them. He is really busy with the J39, awesome job.Cheers. -
Yeeees, magnificent project. Man after those pics I will have an eagle eye out for the download. Gees, it is hard waiting to get your hands on this beautiful aircraft. Thanks for all your hard work for the community and getting stressed waiting to fly this bird. Congrats on a job very well done.
