Tried quickly, i also have black export screens, mfd clicks not functional. I can drag them around fine though. DCS stable branch, gtx970. .NET installed.

I just had an epiphany, and try deactivating my antivirus, and behold... Ultramfcd is showing. It's still weird that there's no pop-up warning, and that 3 processes are created when blocked. Anyway, I'll do further testing tonight, to try and check which software is guilty of what. In the meantime, be aware that it may create a false positive with Avast.
-
When I launch UltraMFCD.exe, there's no window showing. No crash, no logs, it just seems stuck in an endless loop, 3 processes "UltraMFCD" created that I can't shutdown.
-
Ah gotcha. Fair enough, although I feel these changes are somehow a downgrade in ergonomics...

Hey guys, I'm actually surprised at the discrepancies between this manual exctract and the DCS Manual HOTAS page. Some major ones like the lock button especially? DCS has it on the stick, while this manual has it on the push button from the TDC ("alidade radar"). Will the DCS manual be updated to stick closer to real life ergonomics? The other major one for me is the "commande temps réel SNA", not described at all in the same way in the DCS manual.

Pretty confident you'll have my money as well, looks good and well thought out, for a very affordable price tag. Awesome. Envoyé de mon ASUS_Z00AD en utilisant Tapatalk

1.2.16.38741 not available for some users??
Dusty [CPC] replied to Azrayen's topic in Installation Problems
Had the same problem, launching the Update several times quickly fixed it... finally updated. J'avais le même problème, et en lançant l'updater (via ligne de commande) plusieurs fois très rapidement, il m'a finalement trouvé l'update. -
Or because it is irrelevant in missions for which the 2000C is used. :smilewink: Keep in mind the M2Ks are mission specific aircraft; the RDI has the AG capabilities of an Antilope in AA, i.e. it sucks and is avoided if possible.
-
From what I read, it will be a 2000C with RDI, hence the 530D. But afaik the first 2000 upgrade capable of using MICAs is the 2000-5 (so with RDY), which is an almost different aircraft. 2000C are technically capable of carrying MICAs, but not use them, so it would be pointless.
-
MICAs can't be carried by the 2000C, only later versions (-5, -9)

Zone explosion(s) ends up crashing clients
Dusty [CPC] replied to Dusty [CPC]'s topic in Multiplayer Issues
I'll try and get everyone to test again and compile their log files to post here, along with the miz. -
Made a mission with several zone explosions 10 seconds after mission start, to set up a warzone "look" with destroyed buildings and smokes. It runs fine in single player when testing, even on speed > 1x. However when playing with as little as 4 other players, they get disconnected or they crash, from a minute after start to several minutes after. Server crashes last. Using the radio somehow also triggers the crashing. Crashes don't happen when I remove these explosions trigger.

Not sure how detailed you want the Lafayette to be, but the Exocets are actually in a ditch on that roof. :)
-
Nope. Unless you're crazy enough to remove the squelch, in which case I'm not sure. Concerning the beep I may have the exact one, I'll PM you when I'm sure.

Awesome tool, thank you! Is there a feature roadmap already? Namely, I think the ability to import the flightplans from a mission file would be a great help.

Have to tread with caution, but I got you some unclassified infos about the tone: http://books.google.fr/books?id=hHg-AAAAYAAJ&pg=PA42 The tone itself you could probably find in some YouTube videos, but its very similar to this: http://www.thelonegamers.com/2013/06/29/military-style-radio-beeps-for-teamspeak-and-ventrilo/ Now as far as simulating the tone, I believe, as a user, that these would suffice: - background static then cypher tone after 25ms from PTT for talker, indicating proper key entry; - cypher tone straight up to recipients on said key - cypher tone then scrambled loud static when key is wrong or not entered.

fixed ADF Radio (1.2.8) in Huey - no sound in multiplayer
Dusty [CPC] replied to Blindspot's topic in Bugs and Problems
I can confirm that the sound file is not playing in MP, while working ok in SP. I have another similar issue: VHF/FM homing is not working for clients, and somehow the needle gets stuck (ie does not reset) after the unit emitting disappears. Would be nice for SAR MP mission if the homing was working again. Thanks! -
1.2.10 up1 - artillery half fixed, still half broken
Dusty [CPC] replied to Dusty [CPC]'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Regarding the artillery not firing, I apologize, it is working. I just never noticed it waited 3 minutes aiming before actually firing the first shell. I'm adding feedback to the helicopter bug though: I've added a single waypoint to the "parking hot" aircraft (which were meant to be uncontrolled) so they don't act all weird after take off. It works fine with airplanes, but something is still wrong with -some- helos. If I use a AH-1W, it does its stupid hover and drift thing, nothing else will put it back on it's normal flight. If I change it to a Mi-8 for instance (haven't tried them all), it works just fine and the Mi-8 heads for its waypoint. AH-1W is on "late activation", spawning from radio item command, AI Good, "parking hot" from a FARP. One or no waypoint doesn't change the bug. -

Dusty [CPC] replied to Dusty [CPC]'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah I know the behaviour you're talking about, but I haven't experienced it since 1.2.10. Now it just seems like the sliders are inoperative for aircraft taking off, no matter how many inputs you put in. -
1.2.10 up1 - artillery half fixed, still half broken
Dusty [CPC] replied to Dusty [CPC]'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you for looking at this, Grimes. I can provide the .miz file with all these issues when I get back home. Concerning the aircraft command, here’s what happens: F-4E is spawned, parking hot (due to uncontrolled being bugged), Fighter sweep mission, AI Good, with no pre-planned waypoint. F-4 is taking off ok, and seem to register the path command, but ignores the speed and altitude sliders, and flies at minimum speed (max AoA) and minimum safe altitude towards the ordered waypoint. Only a target tasking triggers a “normal” flying, i.e. flying its intercept pattern. For helos it’s even worse. AH-1W, CAS mission, no preplan, is spawning parking hot from FARP, takes off, and just drifts at 1 kt above the ground, ignoring all commands, be it pathing or targeting. Concerning the altitude slider in MPH, I could try a repair if you wish, although I never had any problems installing or patching. If you’re thirsty for bug feedback, I’m happy to oblige, being an almost weekly game master, there’s a few more I can think of, less critical but always annoying. -

I just noticed that artillery units now fire at point correctly if it's preplanned in the mission editor, but still fail to do so if ordered by the game master. Couldnt find a bug tracker/thread for CA... Any love for CA planned in the near future? The list of crippling bugs hasn't shortened for a while... (Uncontrolled aircraft/helos not starting, altitude slider in mph, aircraft commands unreliable or ignored) -
@towsim: the modified configurator works perfectly, thank you for that.
-
Cheers, will test that version when I see him again and let you know how it works. I'm quite surprised it didn't happen to anyone else.
-
@towsim: the path is correct and defaulted to the steam DCS directory during installation. The problem isn't the path, but the filename. Both files (AriesAirborneRadio.ini and AriesConfigurator.ini) are in this same AriesWings directory. But the configurator isn't saving the changes to the correct file. I don't have the AriesConfigurator.ini file on my system, and on my friend's system (who's having the problem), the configurator is saving settings to this AriesConfigurator.ini file, whereas the plug-in is reading the other, AriesAirborneRadio.ini file. The problem lies with this AriesConfigurator.ini file, which could be a name left over from previous versions, and only happening because of either Steam or Win8 (only major difference between his system and mine)
-
@Towsim: We've encountered what is probably a bug. Fresh install, lastest version, on the Steam version of DCS, Windows 8. The shortcuts to the radio, which were assigned to the keyboard, wouldn't work. None of them. Everything else looked good. We finally nailed the problem: The AriesConfigurator.exe is saving changes to a file called AriesConfigurator.ini, while the plug-in is looking for the shortcuts in the file AriesAirborneRadio.ini, which still had the default Warthog shortcuts. Deleting the first .ini file didn't help, as the Configurator is just recreating the same file. Replacing the AriesAirborneRadio.ini with one modified by someone else (windows 7, non Steam DCS) fixed the shortcut problem.
