  1. Already started studying! Gonna start in WWII with the 51 and the Spit, then graduate to maybe F-86, then modernize with the A-10 and F-18. Flew C-141’s and C-9’s with USAF, then mostly all Boeing with Airlines. Finished on B-777. Retired now and just discovered DCS. I can’t wait to get back to work!! After years of large multi-engine, always wanted to get back in single-seat and yank & bank. Been waiting for technology to catch up with the dream and I think it’s here!
  2. Read many post re: G2 and haven’t seen any more problems with VA and audio. ???
  3. Appreciate all the info! I’m going fairly high end with pretty much what lazduc recommended. Holding off on the motion sim for now. Main differences in pc are 32G RAM but upgradable, got the 3080 card and 1 1T SSD and another 1T harddrive. This unit will be pretty much dedicated to DCS and gaming so I figure I’m good to go for now. Everything is upgradable! Also have the Warthog and the G2. Just waiting on Dell to finish and ship! Thanks again!
  4. Should work great, then LoL!
  5. Many Thanks, Hornblower waiting for my new PC to arrive so my only experience with DCS so far is reading. Can’t wait to get hands on! Will see how the G2 does and at least there is the NVidia work around available if there’s a problem.
  6. Just getting set up in DCS. Have a G2 and wondering if the voice recognition problem is universal. And how well does the NVidia fix work? Also, maybe a stupid question but with ViaCom and VA working together, will my aircraft specific profiles for cockpit interaction still work? One more, with ViaCom’s kneeboard, can I add pdf files to it? ie. checklists
  7. Don’t get why I just can’t set up WMR on my computer with the G2
  8. My question is, once I set up the G2 via Steam, do I have to play DCS thru Steam or can I download and play independant of Steam?
  9. Hey All, a new hardware question for you. Getting a new PC with 32G of RAM. Upgradable to 64 but would that be overkill for DCS? 32 recommended and at least for starters I probably won’t be doing much multiplayer. Whaddya Think? Just looking ahead........
  10. Hey Guys, still very new here and on the waiting list for my PointCTRL system. Don’t even have my new PC yet!.

The website talks about “VoiceAssist”. Can someone fill me in on this? Is it an add-on, possibly meant as a substitute or replacement for VoiceAttack and/or ViacomPro?? Thanks!

       Never mind, figured it out!

  11. Yep, going that route. Load Windows in the SSD and DCS in other? Thanks
  12. Hi All, Have a new query. Shopping for a new PC for DCS. Will use almost exclusively for DCS and perhaps a few other games. Recommend 2 500GB or one 1TB SSD? Thanks
  13. Anyone tried the Meza Hotas desk mount? Available on Amazon
  14. Got my preorder confirmation on 3/19. Any way to see what # I am on the list? also, anyone used PC with ViaComPro?
  15. LoL! I get that, just wondering if Jeatseat/Jetpad are essentially the same unit. JetSeat seems very hard to find/purchase. Not so with JetPad. If they’re the same, I’ll probably go with that. But I’ve also been researching the full motion sim chairs. Will you go that far? Not sure my space can accomodate one.
  16. Same here on the office chair. Done some searching and seems as tho the JetSeat is hard to find new. Has the JetPad replaced it? Can buy new from Andre it looks like. Same unit essentially? See some used JetSeats for sale here.
  17. Same here, all war stories welcome!
  18. To YSIAD_RIP that seat is definitely on my list! What’s next, Full motion chairs?
  19. Many Thanks! I will research both
  20. Kind of what i figured, Thanks!
  21. Great info! Many thanks Monkwolf
  22. After 40 years as an active pilot and some dabbling in flight Sims like Falcon 4.0, I'm ready to jump into DCS with both feet! I think the advent of VR has been a game changer to the realism and enjoyability of Sims and DCS seems to be the gold standard. Can't believe it took me this long to find it! Anyway, I am researching hardware and have 3 questions. I'll be purchasing as high end of a PC that I can within $$ reason. Also looking at the HP Reverb G2 VR headset; Thrustmaster WartHog stick and throttles with rudder pedals. I have watched a great video on the PointCTRL finger mice, are they as good as they look and do you recommend? Also considering ViacomPro and VoiceAttack. If I have PointCTRL would I need voice command? Any input would be greatly appreciated. And last, If I get ViaComPro, is there a built in mic on the G2 or would I need a separate headset? Thanks for any input you may have and I look forward to getting started!
