So no “chatter” ( which I don’t use anyway) and talk to ground crew on TX1 as well? Just thought of this….Currently have my throttle hat sw. Set for VAICOM TX’s. In Apache if I assign those to something else will that screw up VAICOM?? Thanks!

Hey Guys, Just downloaded the Apache and will be control binding for a while! Currently flying the Huey and FA18 with my PTT mapping set per the original VaiCom manual. So I’m using separate TX’s for UHF, VHF, Intercom, etc mapped to my throttle hat. Am I seeing that there will be only 1 TX available for the Apache? So tune and select the desired radio on the upfront display and use the same switch for all? Thanks

Great, Thanks. Do you recommend continuing to update to newer versions even if things are currently smooth as silk? -

Hey All, I have kind of a simple generic couple of questions if anyone has time. I’m running v 6.1 successfully. If I upgrade to 6.3 do I need to install all 3 files and would I need to run Clean/Repair? Also, when I download a DCS Update, should I just save the 3 files and reinstall in bin folder or download fresh? Same question about Clean/Repair in that instance too. Thanks!! -
"Command disabled for this session and was not executed"

Hello All again, In my continuing effort to see what the deal is with this issue, I did some experimenting. Reinstalled version .27 and found that when I held the PTT switch a fraction of a second longer so that I heard the confirmation beep, then released, all worked as it should. Normal response from ATC and no “Command Disabled” message. A little bit odd and different to hold PTT a bit longer but I got used to it pretty quick. let me know thoughts and any input on this. Thanks! -

Just a thought, did I read somewhere that a setting or settings on the MP page corrected this issue? I don’t do MP but if something works, I wanna try it! Thanks -

FYI, I just tested the new version and the same story. So I have reverted to the .24 version again. Can’t believe more folks don’t have this issue and I worry that when VaiCom updates with the new Apache, I won’t be able to use it. Wonder if there is something wrong with my installation? But if that was the case, version .24 wouldn’t work correctly. Too bad I got no help from VaiCom, but they said they could not duplicate the issue. -

Hey Max, been away for a while and will be a time before I’m flying again but…So the latest versions fixed the problem we worked on last year, is that right? Hope all is well with you! -
Don’t have my PointCrl yet but I am in a walk-in closet with a high window in front of my setup and a fluorescent ceiling light behind me. Noticed that with light off when the outside light changed and/or clouds moved in my G2 would get a bit unstable. Curtain was drawn so whatever light that was getting in was muted. So when I turned overhead light on, problem solved. I now run with light on all the time and all works great. Since it’s florescent should be no problem for PointCtrl. If upper window IR light is an issue, I’ll just block it. Hope this helps!

Steps are straightforward. 1). select keyword or phrase to change. 2) add asterisks as desired, before, aft, or both) 3)click “apply” 4)click “Finish” 5) Complete Finish steps for AI Comm in VA window. The results are intermittent as stated in VA menu, “Your mileage may vary”, but you are still able to use the original word/phrase standalone.
-
Going to go back and will try to duplicate the steps tomorrow. Can’t remember if I used the “apply” button or not, think I did. But, yes, I just added the asterisks to the phrase in the editor window and verified at the bottom of the window that is what I wanted and then went thru the “Finish” steps and now I have updated commands in VA. I tested and found that, although not perfect each time, I can say, ie. “Batumi, Request Startup Spot 2” and I get the normal response. Also tested, “Kobuleti (orATC), Inbound Angels 10”. Increases the immersion experience for me. Found that also, because I’m using VSPX, the faster I speak, the better the recognition.

OOPS! I actually added asterisks to a couple of keyword phrases and then accomplished the finish steps. So now I have a few keywords in VoiceAttack with asterisks that did not have them before (in the VCPro profile) and the commands work as advertised when embedded in a longer phrase in VoiceAttack. But the words in the VCPro keyword editor still have asterisks with them that I added to copy to VA. Should I re-edit them to remove the asterisks in the editor?
-
Just an added thought/question if you’re still around. Haven’t tried the above yet but here’s my question. Since all I am doing is taking existing profile phrases and putting asterisks before and aft, can I safely delete the original phrase? For instance, If I add an alias to the phrase “Inbound” and that alias is “*Inbound*”, can I delete the non asterisked original “Inbound” to avoid confusion? Thanks!
-
Outstanding! Thank You AdrianL! Too bad I just can’t simply add asterisks to those existing phrases!
-
Any chance someone could walk me through adding an alias to the “Inbound” keyword or just editing that keyword, if possible? Don’t see specific instructions in the manual. Thanks!
-
OK, Many thanks! I did try adding an alias once and it didn’t work so I had to go in and reset everything. May shy away from that. Thanks Anyway!
-
So to edit 1 keyword for instance i can just add the asterisks before and after and then do the finish steps? Do I need to click ‘apply”?
-
I understand going into the keywords editor. Can I simply edit an existing keyword by adding those asterisks before and after the keyword? Never used the “test” button, how does that work?
-
So, for instance, if I want change the “Inbound” command, I just go into the editor and add change it to *Inbound* and then accomplish the Finish steps?

Have noticed in other threads that the downloaded VCP plugin profile for VA has most, if not all commands surrounded by asterisks to allow the specific command to be used in a phrase. My VCP profile contains very few “asterisks”. Anyone know how to add these without messing the profile up?
