Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
ismaeljorda replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
It is nothing complicated. You just have to be careful to plug it correctly and firmly into the PCI-e port and secure it with the screws. Make sure you have 4 PCI-e connections on the PSU and firmly connect the splitter to each of the cables. When you connect the splitter to the card make sure you do it right and push it all the way in because sometimes it stays about 1mm apart and it can be one of the causes of the burned connectors. -

Truly impressive. I recorded a small clip in VR testing the new lighting system and real time shading and it's awesome, I hope they end up implementing it on all maps.

There is a bug with flat shadows in Open Beta 2.8 The issue has been identified by ED and a fix is in the making. Maybe that's why there is a little less performance in 2.8 than in 2.7 -

Muchísimas gracias por tu trabajo, Max. Espectacular.

Thanks Zildac, I'm up to date on everything and on Discord since April 22. When they asked for betatesters I couldn't sign up on time and they don't accept anymore. I DM Arch 1 week ago but got no reply. In any case this morning he said that if all goes well by the end of the day we will have good news. Cheers!

Thank you very much. I hope this week they release the hot fix. Fingers crossed. Here's another benchmark over Beirut with presets LOW-MED-HIGH, I know it is not the best for fine-tuning performance, but it does make it easier for everyone to check how their system is performing. I´ve shared the tracks used in my benchmarks (I hope they still work). Links are in the video description.

Thanks! Sure. Using the default presets I try to make things easier so that everyone can do the benchmark at home easily. Once Varjo fixes the stuttering issue with the 4090 I'll start fine-tuning the graphics settings to get the best possible experience but until then I'll keep benchmarking and testing. Here's another one (Apache + Marianas) comparing 2 different resolutions of the VARJO AERO. 35 and 39 PPD (Pixels Per Degree) corresponding to 3140x2692 and 4148x3556 respectively at 100% of SteamVR.

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?

Hi Some1, to be honest I do not know. It may be the 5800x3D doing its magic as you say. Without a doubt, recording penalizes the processor, but I don't know if that much. Other than that I think there was no more background work. -

Thanks! In this video you can see the difference between the 3090Ti and the 4090 with PRESET HIGH. Take a look at the channel, there are several videos that you may find interesting. More are coming. Cheers! -

3080 10GB vs 3090 24GB or OCULUS QUEST2 vs VALVE INDEX
ismaeljorda replied to Ericcaff's topic in Virtual Reality
That's right. Same PC with same VR headset (Varjo Aero @ 2932x2516 per eye which is 50% of total resolution) with different GPU 3080Ti (12GB) Vs. 3090Ti (24GB). At the bottom of the video is the info. -

A few weeks ago I replaced my 3080Ti (12GB) for a 3090Ti (24GB) and found that running DCS on a 4K monitor the RTX 3090Ti only performs 10% more fps than the 3080Ti, but things change when we fly in VR, getting 150% extra performance. For some reason 3090Ti's 24GB of VRAM suits DCS VR just fine. This is a very aggressive and disproportionate test since everything is maxed out, but it makes the comparison even more impressive. This benchmark isn't about speed, its about DCS using a lot of VRAM. Please, ignore the Avg FPS because it is the average of the whole VR session, main menu included. Look at the fps in real time to make the comparison. 3080Ti: 15 fps / 3090Ti: 39 fps I have done other tests with more reasonable graphics options and the percentage difference 3080Ti Vs. 3090Ti is very similar. I've also noticed that my fps no longer suddenly drops from 45fps to 10-15fps for a few minutes like it did with the 3080Ti, but stays stable throughout the VR session. Also my experience with the 3090Ti is much smoother and stutter-free, so I'm afraid at this point DCS VR requires 24GB of VRAM, at least with high resolution HMDs. Perhaps other users can confirm this. Cheers! Ismael -
Issue with Winwing Orion v1 + Fingerlifts upgrade kit
ismaeljorda replied to 92nd-MajorBug's topic in Winwing
You have extra cable inside the base. Pull them carefully and take out what you need to move it comfortably. -
Same as crispy12 I also have a 3090Ti since last week to replace my 3080Ti. I don't usually buy GPU's when the new generation is about to come out, but if these last two years have taught me anything, it's that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... Same settings on an UltraWide monitor at 3840x1600
