  1. Is there any way to adjust the rotational views in VR? By that I mean, can I set it so that if my physical head turns 90°, can I make the VR view rotate, say, 110°?? I'm disabled and because of limitations caused by that, and the fact that I play from bed, I can't really whip my head around to say see my wings, assuming of course I'm flying something that you can see the wings in the first place, and it's kind of a pain. I've looked around to see if there is a solution to do this and have come up empty. Does anyone have any thoughts, or maybe you've done something similar yourself?
  2. OK, so I'm a total noob, which means (among other things) that I'm presently avoiding multi-player servers like they were infected. But eventually that will change, and I've noticed on the Audio options, for incoming and outgoing voice chat, they sometimes show up as options, and sometimes don't. If there's any sort of pattern, I haven't noticed it yet. Anyone run into this or have any thoughts on it?
  3. You probably won't notice a bit of difference (except 2x the price) between that and the EVO Plus. The 2GB version is $199 on Amazon right now, and I've been so tempted but just can't justify it at this time. I have my OS and MSFS on a 1TB version of that, and I have DCS on a SATA SSD, and I see no difference. If anything, DCS is faster, though they are very different apps under the hood.
  4. Yes, and it seems to be working though I had a problem that just went away. But I'm not sure I'm thrilled with the performance. I'm going to reset OpenXR to 70% (which is what I run for MSFS) and see what happens, but it was noticeably slower when I tried a quick mission, especially while taxiing. I also noticed some "pop-ups" in the mountains I was flying by, not sure if it was LOD related, or because the sun was coming up in "ticks", and it's COMPLETELY possible it was happening before, but now I'm looking for potential problems. Sometimes, seek and you shall find turns out to be true, so I can't say with any certainty that is a new "thing".
  5. OK, I followed your instructions TO THE LETTER, and I got this app downloaded, up, and running. The only problem is that it did NOT have any DCS logo in it, nor did I see any way to get one. Yes, I did the whole clean/repair thing too, even though my install is but a week old. Is this a problem?
  6. Sounds like a fantastic idea, I'll give it a shot. Thank you!!
  7. Title kind of says it all, on a regular basis, but not repeatable on purpose (at least not that I've found), my mouse seems to manage to click on another app, or something on the taskbar, losing focus and making all inputs by me (say increasing the throttle) not work. I have the checkbox to "crop the mirror to a square" or whatever the exact language is checked, but it doesn't do that, the view on my monitor IS square, but is not cropped. Still, relatively often I manage to click on something not in the game for some reason. Anyone seen this or have a fix?
  8. I apologize for resurrecting this thread from the long dead, but it this still a "wish list" item that has never been done, or is there now some way to do it that I've not yet found? Seems to me like a no-brainer, there's a reason the phrase "Say Again..." exists.
  9. I did, but my dumb ass missed the huge "Transfer Licenses" button! Now it's done, so I guess I have to reinstall. it's all good, though, as I have a gigabit connection, so maybe 20 minutes? Thanks so much for the help. Still no successful traps, but my last few attempts have been bolters, which is far better than crashing into the stern of the boat!
  10. This is my result. Suggestions?
  11. OK, so I tried this, and a window with the DCSWorld logo comes up, but it won't let me start the server, and it's forcing me to use my public IP, and won't let me change it. That said, I have the Steam version, which appears from a few posts won't work with this, but I have no issues whatsoever switching to the "native" (for lack of a better term) one, so long as I don't have to pay for my DLC again, which consists of the F/A-18C, the Persian Gulf map, the Supercarrier, the free Mariana Islands map, and the Raven One campaign. How do I switch over, and am I better off using the native version aside from being able to run this server for the AI?
  12. So... Not soon lol... I mean, I guess that's understandable since multi-core processors are such a new thing.
  13. I was playing around with graphics settings earlier today, but I was finding that changing this or that setting wasn't really making any difference. So I sort of went for the "nuclear option" and went from fairly high-end aggressive settings to the "stock" built in VR one, which resulted in a lot of reductions on the graphics settings, BUT.... Basically didn't change the fps by even a smidge. Which is what confuses me. If it matters, I was in the "Supercarrier Cold Start" mission, cold and dark on deck, and my computer is an i5-10600K OCed to 4.9GHz paired with an RTX2070 Super also carrying a pretty good overclock, 64GB of memory, and not a single spinning disk in sight. Notably, I turned off the CPU OC and the frame rates still didn't budge. No matter what I did (with one exception, that being anisotropic filtering, which I thought wasn't supposed to make a difference, but does) I was humming along at roughly 24 fps, which my brain tells me should be a slideshow, but was not, though there were a not insignificant amount of stutters. Is my experience even remotely "normal"? I'm a noob to DCS who hasn't even managed a single carrier landing (yet!), so I have no foundation upon which to base any opinions on, and while my system isn't the best money can buy, it's not in any manner a slouch. However, compared to what was available when DCS and the F-18 was released, it's way more powerful than anything that existed outside of a lab at the time, so I would expect it to perform quite well even completely maxed on the settings.
  14. Is that like days/weeks away, or off in some unknown distant future?
  15. They are there. Along with a few others I downloaded. For giggles, I moved those to the missions\single directory, and the regular training missions are back, but not the supercarrier ones, they're under "missions". I've only tried one of them, but I was looking forward to having an actual speaking instructor, but they weren't there, at least in the one. There are no "supercarrier only" missions under the "Training" tab, and I could have sworn I saw them earlier. Could be I'm just remembering that category from the "Mission" tab? Thanks for your help and assistance... Kev
  16. I guess the snip is kind of self explanatory... My training missions are just gone. It started earlier with the Supercarrier missions, so I uninstalled and reinstalled DCS from scratch, which didn't help, but I figured with the Supercarrier update coming so soon that would fix it, but now everything is gone. Help? Kev
  17. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why would doing this be advantageous?
  18. It seems to me that a lot of your issues would be solved by getting a good HOTAS, setting it up properly, and stop trying to fly with the keyboard. Real planes don't fly with keyboards, and there is a very good reason for that.
