  1. The addition of some particle effects would be able to match that more closely. A sim like this isn't necessarily all about eye candy, but it sure is nice if done right, considering that a lot of time is spent looking at the TGP. I do have to say that I had a nice surprise the other day, as I'm still pretty new to this sim, when I took out an ammo dump and watched as all the secondary fireworks started going off. I think I even got giddy. :)
  2. Can't wait for this either. For the time being, I've been taking pictures of the briefing screen as posted previously. It works well enough, but an app like this would be kickass. BTW, I'm on a jailbroken 3Gs 4.2.1. I don't have a lot of spare time, but if you are interested in beta testers, I think I could help out.
  3. I still don't get how to do this. As per the instructions, I found the main.lua file in the Scripst/Net folder and added the line. But I can't find the network.cfg file in the Config folder. I'm thinking that the files structure may have changed since final.
  4. I can confirm this as well. I had the target zoomed in on the TGP at the time, so I can't say if the freeze happens at all times or only when the TGP view is up. Hope this does get fixed soon. Either a hotfix or guess we'll have to wait until the 1.1.0.8. ---------------------------- Good news is I can continue it the second SP campaign where it used to crash on entering the cockpit. I have a pretty fast setup so I've never had any issues with the graphics or smoothness, even with most of the settings at max. Can't say I have noticed any change since the update, but that's good. I do see the obvious longer mission load times, but hey no biggie. Can't wait to jump on MP and try out the SPI broadcasting! So far seems like a great patch. Now I can't wait for the self-shadowing. That is just going to rock so hard!
  5. I'm still pretty new to this sim, but I feel like I've been making a lot of good progress. I want to get into more of the meat of the sim, but I know there is no dynamic campaign yet(is there ever going to be one?). I've tried a couple of the stock campaigns but got stopped by the various known bugs. I've played around a bit with some of the SP missions, but I'm wondering what most folks around here are doing. Are there any good user created SP missions/campaigns worth trying out? I'm still not sure about multi-player. For one, I don't always have much free time and it can be hard to plan for specific times. The idea intrigues me, but I don't know much about it. Any advice?
  6. Can you do a canyon run to the Hoover Dam and pretend it is Star Wars?
  7. OK, wow I think I was missing the part about assigning the load button to an OSB. I saw it there but I was just clicking on it and it would highlight, but then nothing. :p Gonna go try this right now, but thanks guys! And thanks for not giving a noob like me grief for asking a question that has probably been answered here a lot. :)
  8. I honestly tried to find the info I need but can't seem to get all the details. Can someone post the exact steps to rearm/refuel after exiting runway and coming to a stop somewhere? In particular, I need to know how to update so that the rearmed weapons actually show up. Really appreciate it, thanks.
  9. All that I can say is damn you. Damn you, sir. Now I REALLY want an iPad 2 but just can't afford one right now. So I will say it thrice, damn you!</sarcasm></smile>
  10. I too would really like to see some kind of self-check updater app. Seems kind of silly in this day and age to not have something like that, especially for a game that's in full release.
  11. Thanks fellas, will try that. Think I was missing the TMS Forward Short part. So loving this sim. :D
  12. This is usually the way I go about it. Sometimes I'll use the targeting box on the HUD to get in the general area, switch to TGP for target acquisition, and then to MAV for the final solution. My question is, when I've got a target SPI from the TGP and then slave the MAV to the SPI, the MAV will be centered and locked on the target. But if I try and launch the missile at that point I get an error(can't remember which one right now). I have to slew the MAV and reacquire the target. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong. I'm still learning, but I get kind of frustrated with MAVs. I have a much harder time picking out targets as you can't change the contrast like the TGP. The missions I'm doing now is the early second campaign and you are loaded out with AGM-65Ds, which AFAIK, don't work with force correlate mode. When I'm trying to lock a target using the MAV seeker, it moves around a lot. I've tried ground stabilizing but that only works until I need to slew again. Is there anything I'm missing that can make my life easier wrt using MAVs? :)
