This is usually the way I go about it. Sometimes I'll use the targeting box on the HUD to get in the general area, switch to TGP for target acquisition, and then to MAV for the final solution.
My question is, when I've got a target SPI from the TGP and then slave the MAV to the SPI, the MAV will be centered and locked on the target. But if I try and launch the missile at that point I get an error(can't remember which one right now). I have to slew the MAV and reacquire the target. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong.
I'm still learning, but I get kind of frustrated with MAVs. I have a much harder time picking out targets as you can't change the contrast like the TGP. The missions I'm doing now is the early second campaign and you are loaded out with AGM-65Ds, which AFAIK, don't work with force correlate mode. When I'm trying to lock a target using the MAV seeker, it moves around a lot. I've tried ground stabilizing but that only works until I need to slew again.
Is there anything I'm missing that can make my life easier wrt using MAVs? :)
