  1. I used to run a bunch of different mods, but haven't in a while since it became kind of a hassle with each version update. One mod that I really used to like was a click-able radio menu. Does anyone know if one still exists for the latest version of DCS:W?
  2. Thanks Mastiff! SLI was the issue. This is the first SLI rig I've put together so I haven't paid attention to potential issues in the past. So does SLI not work at all with DCS or is this just rare card/driver issue? TBH, just one of these cards is more than enough and I was getting smooth fps with everything cranked so I'm not really concerned.
  3. Having an issue with flickering clouds with the latest version of DCS World(A10). This is a fresh install on a newly built computer(specs in sig). Latest nVidia drivers installed. Video shows issue. Here's a pic of my current settings. I have most everything cranked as my system should be able to handle it. In troubleshooting, I tried many many combinations of settings including the base low|medium|High. None of the check box settings, nor HDR/MSAA/cockpit rez/etc. made a difference.
  4. Can we get some Drain-O up in here to clean these Internet tubes???
  5. I'm actually a member(non-active now) of the Official Virtual 352nd Fighter Group, recognized for our online presence in Warbirds and Aces High. I've been to one of their reunions many years ago and have met many of the surviving pilots including Bob "Punchy" Powell. Moonbeam was my ride of choice for squad missions. I've got a great print by Troy White called "New Year's Bash." Bought it from him personally at the reunion and had him sign it along with several of the 352nd pilots. It's one of my prized possessions. So it goes without saying that I would love to see a skin made for Moonbeam.
  6. No, I wouldn't expect it to look nearly as sharp as a 24". It's like digital zoom on a camera. :) I'm going to experiment with it. If I put it on the back of my computer table as far as it will go, the viewing distance should probably be about 3-4'. I might be willing to sacrifice a little crispness in the video for the feeling of immersion. I just hope I don't fry my face off or get a tumor.:)
  7. Ooh I like this thread. :) I'm moving to my new home very soon and so I bought a nice new 47" LG TV to replace my aging 42" 1080p 60Hz Vizio. I have a pretty decent 24" LG monitor that I'm using, but I got it in my head that I could use the Vizio as my computer monitor. I was just a little concerned that it might be a bit TOO much and may not look as good as a computer monitor. How far are you guys sitting from your TVs and how does the quality of the image compare? I'd most likely go HDMI from my ATI 6750 to the TV.
  8. Is it possible for anyone on the ED team to communicate with AMD and try to find a solution to this? Since it was working with at least one driver version, you would think that it would be a little easier to crosscheck with other driver versions to see what's causing it. I just hate it when both parties just say it is the other guys problem and it sits unfixed.
  9. Yeah, unfortunately I think the fps took a hit with 11.6. I haven't updated to 11.10 yet, but will shortly. I've just been going without HDR enabled until it can get fixed. I'd rather have the better fps.
  10. Personally, I'd forgo any futher improvements/additions to the game, and give my left nut as well for a nice dynamic persistent online campaign. I know it's been discussed ad nauseum and I don't really hold out any hope for it.
  11. Might be awhile before I can upgrade and play. Any volunteers to share some pics or video(even better) of the TGP?
  12. Have to agree. One of the greatest changes from the last patch was to be able to see all your mark points at once on the TAD in Mark Mode.
  13. Wow, thanks Nate! I was afraid that I might get flamed for such a request. ;)(not by you of course). I'm happy about this one too!
  14. Thanks for the update, but one small request. Would it be possible in the future to highlight/bold items that have been changed/added to the update list?
  15. It's a tiny thing but thanks for fixing the state of the boat switch for us warthog users. I'm hoping that the double ATC messages have been fixed. Did I miss that in the notes? Also, any progress with the flashing white box for radeon 69xx users when HDR is enabled? I understand that you guys have maintained that it is driver issue and out of your control. It seemed to get fixed with the ati 11.6 drivers but got broke again in subsequent releases. Think it is still doing it with 11.9. I think about 90% of the patch I won't even notice.:) Just goes to show how deep down the rabbit hole this sim goes. :)
  16. Definitely going to need a mission where insurgents have taken over Las Vegas! :)
  17. ^Not if you either use the rocker switch on the UFC using the mouse, or map it directly to your keyboard or HOTAS. That's what I did. I used a modifier along with one of the hats. That way it is just as Kylania described. With six Mavs and six markpoints, I can get all of them off the rails in about 15-20 seconds tops.
  18. You forgot to kick the tires and then light the fires. Back to ground school with you. ;)
  19. The TGP can be a great stand-off weapon on its own. It's got quite the visual range. I usually run recon from a safe enough distance and scout for targets and setting mark points, as well as suitable terrain that will provide cover close enough to be within mav range. Then I will drop down and close in on the target(s) location. Make sure everything is set and good to go for a quick launch. Usually I'll turn on ECM and then pop-up, lock target, rifle, then drop back down. Even if they do manage to lock you up and launch a SAM, you should be able to get back down and use terrain to block the missile. Once you have this technique down it is a piece of cake. You just have to keep your SA up, making sure you know your position in relation to the target and especially the terrain. If you are using tight canyons/ridge lines, you want to make sure that you know your escape routes and have enough room to maneuver around in case you have to dodge SAMs. This technique will not be viable if there is no significant terrain cover within Mav range or you don't have a TGP loaded and there is no JTAC or wingman support, which is another good way to go. Having a wingman fly recon from a safe distance while they hand-off targets via datalink.
  20. ^How can you tell? I know I bought the beta a long time ago to try out, but then I put it away and forgot about it until it was released. :D I just don't remember where it was in the beta development at the time.
  21. Yeah, I think I did notice a boost in performance with 11.8. Will have to check again and pay more attention to it. Would be a bummer to have to roll back then if someone at ED/AMD can't pin this one down. Should be more to go on now that we know that there is something about the 11.6 drivers that resolves the issue.
  22. Ditto for me too. Was on 11.6 but updated to 11.8 yesterday when trying to solve an issue with another game(which turned out to be something else), but then I noticed the white box was back. Will probably roll back to 11.6 until this hopefully gets sorted out with AMD.
  23. I'm still a bit confused how this is supposed to work when it is released. What purpose is the Nevada terrain going to serve and how will it be tied into the A-10C package? Will it just be an open area to fly around in? Will there be actual missions(SP/MP) to fly? If so, are we to suspend belief and pretend it is the ME, or will it presume a conflict on US soil? Or is this just a proving ground for the new terrain engine that will later server to create other theaters of operation? What will come of the current Georgia terrain? How will DCS A-10C handle switching between the two if even possible?
  24. +1 Sometimes I really hate the fact that the radio messages disappear automatically after a short time without any way to recall them. Would love to see a new feature come out of this that would allow you to see a history of radio messages. Heck, scripted mission messages too. :) Oh heck, might as go the whole distance and request that chat history can be scrolled back to the point of logon. :D Chop chop...Christmas is only 4 months away. :D
