  1. I'd enjoy the terrain for the later 1944 early 1945 as the war spreads north and the allies occupied the airfields up there. In your server there's that bodged together planset with xmas 1944 planes being squished into a june/July terrain milsim with varying rules for mw50. It just irks me a bit and id love to see the meta change as the war went north. That bring said the player base Also there airfields in East Anglia would be would be fantastic for single player campaigns over the years That being said everyone would probably just hike to carpiquet Imagine dynamic campaign coming and the map being all ready to receive it (hopefully with a g6 as well)
  2. This map is such a gift for us aviation history nerds. I hope you guys consider expanding the map north so we can take advantage of historical scenarios with the late-war german planesets we have. I'd love to see the 4ya server and others be able to expand out of the Normandy area.
  3. Find modelviewer in "\DCSWorld\bin\ModelViewer2.exe" In the top left open File > Load model > "\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\Shapes\F14A_Cockpit.edm" Wait for it to load, then click Camera > Set camera mode ortho. Now click Show> Free camera mode Zoom in on the cockpit by right clicking on the bottom of the screen and dragging up (or go to tools>preferences and turn mouse wheel sensitivity all the way up) Choose the view you want from the bar at the top (the arrow tiles, the crosshair tiles or the webcam). You can also click object view on and off if you desire (sometimes gets rid of weird clipping). Mess with the arguments to get rid of pilots or canopy to taste (there's a lot, I usually keep ones I find I want in a spreadsheet) You can change directions with single click and drag. Now hold W and you will see camera distance on the bottom right winding down. It sections through the cockpit as it approaches 0. Hold S to drag it back. A, D Shift and CTRL move the camera around when middle mouse button doesn't play nice. Q and E rotate it. If you need measurements you can press the "show model grid tile". It should be a 1000mm per box. You can change the size of the box in tools> grid options. Take screenshots and drop them into fusion 360 or whatever you want and calibrate. You can scour the internet for dimensions of parts of the cockpit if you want to verify measurements. Usually most people go off the width of the dzus panels which are 146.05mm wide. Read this pdf for more. https://www.mycockpit.org/tutorials/Panelbuildingfocussedondimensions.pdf This guy gives you a good idea on how to use fusion and make a panel for it btw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XuYIC7n16Y
  4. Trimming with an axis is like moving in molasses. I finally made force feedback rudders to go with my rhino stick and of course the warbirds are amazing with them. Of course one desires to trim them, especially the rudders as you move through different speeds over a bunch of manoeuvres. its amazing in the p-47 because the trim is fairly instantaneous so it’s easy to keep that ball centred (especially as you often only have to move it a few degrees). However my other loves in the mozzie, spitty and of course the pony have the axis modelled so they have horrible delays of several seconds. I understand some of these are older modules (apart from the mozzie). is it possible to get this addressed? FFB devices are slowly gaining a lot of users but it’s frustrating to be held back by old ways of modelling trim
  5. Turned out to be a bit of a useless endeavor but at least it looked cool
  6. After much faff I figured that using 19.7 inches for the width of the ejection seat does a good job and lines up the width of the panels close enough so I'll extrapolate from there. I saw this picture earlier in the thread and must have scrolled past the link to buy his scans so I'll put it here for anyone in posterity https://up-ship.com/blog/?p=11833 I bought them and he emailed me the HD versions within half an hour even though the website looked abandoned
  7. Hey, what constants do you guys know in this cockpit? I was thinking the panels were the standard 146.05mm wide but they don't seem too consistent when I messed around in modelview coupled with fusion. I was looking at the sketchup files but they don't seem to agree with each other. Do we know the width of the fishbowl edge to edge or the ejection seat or the width of the rudder pedals apart? Is the heatblur model off? I was about to draw up a rio radar panel but then got sidetracked in the front cockpit. Are these panels the classic 146.05mm wide? Also, while I'm at it, does anyone know the argument to get rid of the rio's body?
  8. The scale mate guy kindly got back in touch with me and said only his L39 seat is 1 to 1 because he got to measure it up irl. The f-5 one is scaled up from a model measurement.
  9. A seat is getting sold on etsy from and f-5 nullhttps://www.etsy.com/listing/1070590658/f-5-ejection-seat-freedom-fighter They say the seat width (im assuming padding) is 43cm which aligns with the canvas when calibrated to the radio width. I tried to email them on their website to see if they could share dimensions but it bounced back. Maybe someone with an etsy account could ask them (long shot I know) Otherwise does anyone have 25 grand?
  10. I did some measuring in fusion but his numbers don't correlate with the known panel width of 146.05mm His outer width of the ejection seat should be 128.35*4.2= 539.07mm but if I calibrate the canvas to the panels in fusion (146.05) the width becomes 605mm Also with your armament toggles being an inch apart it should be 6x25.4=152.4mm but i get 165 calibrated I really just came here to find the width of the rudder pedals because I'm wondering if I made them for a p-47 (24 inches wide) would they be too big to play if I put f-5 panels on the pit. I think belsimtek might have just eyeballed a bunch of stuff when making this model back in the day so all the measurements are off. Hopefully we can get more accurate irl measurements in the future.
  11. I went on a hunt for ejection seat dimensions and stumbled on this guys incredible website https://www.scale-print.de/en/tiger-f-5/391-ejection-seat-f-5-tiger-excl-upholstery-up-to-scale-142-as-assembly-set.html Scaling up the measurements should help, I hope they’re accurate!
  12. It looks like the an/arc-164 panel is the standard 5.75 inches too https://www.columbiaelectronics.com/id195.htm I found some great ejection seat drawings too but no measurements sadly
  13. Maybe I’ll try see if this works tomorrow.
  14. After much mucking around I think the t-38 measurements and the f-5 in game are completely out of whack. I also tried making the centre panels 146mm wide and also using your figure of 1 inch between the switches (so I did 6 inches for 6 switches) None of it really worked out properly
  15. Hey @Bucic I'm not sure what you're looking for but I had a bit of a journey of discovery with the F5 in model viewer, I've only used it once before so I just pressed every button i could think of and tried to see what happened Firstly 775 is the argument for the pilot. Obviously I used ortho mode. At first I went into back view to get the width for the panel. I found it useful to go to Show>Free camera mode too. Then you can hold W key and on the bottom right you will see the camera distance change. Eventually it starts chopping through layers of the cockpit until you get to where you want. You can adjust with S as well. Then ctrl and shift control up down. A and D do left right. Q and E rotate (dont use) Lastly to get a front on shot of the panel I went to default view and moved it around with a bit of trial and error then holding W till I could see the panel. I got these results. I figure I can enter it into fusion 360 as a canvas and blow it up until it matches your measurements. Are you able to tell me the exact height of the irl panel and the max width of it?
  16. https://mycockpit.org/tutorials/Panelbuildingfocussedondimensions.pdf This reference really helped me @OldFlyer Also @Bucic is that a 6.35mm thick piece of acrylic too? Also do you have any idea how wide the rudder pedals/footwell is?

    Force feedback

Oh so if you’re pulling the stick too hard in a turn it goes from smooth to an abrupt shake immediately (as you get the associated audio cue of the buffet) where’s say in the fw190a8 you get a slight tremor as you approach the accelerated stall, and if you keep pulling the shake ramps up into a buffet.
  18. Hey I understand there's new complications to the loadouts but even when clean the double racked mk83s seemed broken. I could put a double rack on one inner pylon but not the other. On another clean Loadout the middle pylons couldn't be made symmetrical. I could load 2 mk83s on one side with a sidewinder but not the other..

    Force feedback

Also is it possible to eradicate the baked in reflections on the gunsight and canopy? It really sucks in VR
  20. Hey I’m really loving the module, especially as you add keybinds. I was stoked to see you added force feedback but it seems to go from 0 buffer to 100 percent shake. Is there any way you can get it to start with a burble and progress to a shake like the warbirds and tomcat?

    Gunsight cage

I love a fixed gunsight and I’m useless with gyroscopic ones. was there any fixed mode for the gunsight?

  22. Hey guys I’ve really been enjoying being able to jump into the rio seat while playing on tempests server. It’s nice to whip back there, regain the lock and get back in the front seat. Annoyingly iceman likes to throttle down when I do and sometimes it comes at a time when I’m trying to break through the Mach or when speed is critical. Is it possible to make him not move the throttle for a minute after being activated?
  23. I’ve had a good poke around in the app but I get horrible ghosting when manoeuvring. I’m using the steam version, would that be the reason? I did a clean install too for this. On a 3090 and g2. I’ve tried messing with everything but nothing seems to eradicate it.
  24. It was a massive viggen changelog but I couldn't see a fix in there... I guess I'll keep spraying to see where the bullets go
  25. Looking forward to trying it, thanks!
