  1. Hello, I am selling my VKB Gladiator MK2 flight stick. Lightly used for about a year before I have upgraded to full hotas. Comes with original box and docs. Location - UK. Price: £50 (I will consider sensible offers as well) + Postage (not sure how much postage would be - it's been long time since I have sent anything) Thank you. Item SOLD.
  2. Thank you Sunbather, I am glad you are enjoying mudhen so far. Doing Pilot and Wizzo job at the same time is challenging, no doubt - after all the plane was designed to be two-seater for the reason. There are few things you can do to help you with the workload and develop your own workflow. What I found very useful and helpful was this video from Iain Christie: (193) WSO Setup In The F-15E - YouTube In summary he shows really cool setup for controls in WSO seat - that you can achieve with most hotas setups. This is how it works in action: F-15E - Fun In The Back Seat I highly recommend these videos, and to try out his setup - it worked well for me. Now, I actually prefer to prosecute ground targets from the back seat in pretty much all of the situations, apart from the pop-up attacks with LGBs (I am working on it though...) If you haven't seen - check out Notso on YT - he put a lot of interesting tutorials about 15E on his channel. Enjoy!
  3. Technically you can remove any permanent map object with triggers - I agree it is not very easy solution, especially if you are planning to place something else there - It quickly becomes messy... I agree 100% with you on having these assets available to place and reuse. That would be awesome. Locations I have listed, however are rather permanent objects, actually quite hard to destroy and in most cases, they are still present and very visible until today albeit they are destroyed inside. That is why I asked for them to be permanent or part of the map. It would make a lot of sense to have them additionally as free placed assets - to facilitate random scenarios. If ED decided to add them as assets - bunkers, revetments, ramps and others (similar to M92 assets or Sam Pack Assets) I will not complain and be equally happy.
  4. Dear ED, Could you please consider adding and populating Iraq IADS SOCs (Sector Operation Centre) and IOC (Intercept Operation Centre) on the map? These were very high priority targets during both Gulf Wars and, were targeted multiple times especially during 1991 Desert Storm. Their locations (for the most) can still be easily seen on Goggle Earth Pro (especially with historical layers function). These were located at following places: 1) Taji SOC/IOC/EWR Site: 33°35'03.21"N / 44°01'34.03"E 2) Talil SOC/IOC/EWR Site: 31°02'03.84"N / 46°03'10.99"E 3) H3 SOC/IOC/EWR Site (Next to H3 Main AB): 32°53'28.76"N / 39°43'37.05"E 4) Kirkuk SOC/IOC/EWR Site: 35°28'34.92N / 44°11'11.20"E Most have similar layout: Two "Yugo" style bunkers (large trapezoid) that were approximately 800M to 1600M apart. Usually there were 3-4 high ramps for EWR about 800M from one of the bunkers. Please see example layout of H3 SOC below: Additionally could you please consider including couple of important IOCs: Al-Nukhib IOC/EWR Site: 31°50'50.68N / 42°07'28.17"E This was one of the first targets of Desert Storm - targeted by F117As straight after two radar sites of Taskforce Normandy. This site was commanding TF Normandy radars which in change was linked to H3 SOC. Site is still visible today, however not very well - please see photo below: Another important site was Rutba IOC/EWR: 33°06'09.21"N / 40°02'39.22"E Similar layout to the others. I have included these two in the list as well, because they are little bit harder to locate as they were away from airbases. If creating them on the map is to complex/difficult, could I ask you to consider modelling structure assets - Trapezoid Yugo bunker (it was quite large approximately 62 Meters long and 30 Meters wide) and manmade ramps for the radars? Thank you in advance for your consideration.
  5. Yes please.
  6. There were quite few more important and relevant bases in South/South-Western region: Ruwaished Airbase Al-Mursanat Airbase (H3 North-West) Mudaisis Airbase Al Nukhib Airbase These are still quite well visible on Google Earth. Maybe aside of Al-Nukhib - which is pretty much gone - turned into some other military base/ FOB since then. You can still see, where runway was but not much more of the layout survived. Nevertheless, it would be amazing if we got these places...
  7. One of my favourite things about F15E is its A2G radar, and the fact it attempts to simulate Scintillation - it is special option, which can be turned on. As far I am aware none of the other A2G radars in the sim can do that. Just in case you wonder what the hell is Scintillation - very simply - it does show other radar reflectors in very distinctive way - almost like a star or flash on your A2G SAR. Since radar antennas are reflectors - they reflect your radar beam quite well (I have simplified it here as it also depends on radar band and multitude other factors), resulting in the return coming back a lot "brighter" than other stuff. Check out Pukin Dog video explaining and showing this feature: DCS: F-15E SAR Scintillation Advanced Tutorial I would also highly recommend checking out 10 Percent True video interview with Mike "Starbaby" Pietrucha F15E WSO - in the video he shows his tapes of SA3 kill near Mosul, Iraq in 1998 - including radar picture, as that is how he narrowed down exact location of the site after it launched missiles at them. He is former EWO Wild Weasel and explains quite a lot about both subjects. Link to video: (188) F-15E Mosul SA-3 Strike: Starbaby Walkthrough - YouTube Another reason I absolutely love F15E is because it is two crew. If you manage to find somebody to fly with and get good at respective tasks - it is a blast.
  8. Additionally in 1991 - there should be whole airbase immediately to the north - Muthenna Airbase - it was however totally destroyed during Desert Storm and Iraq decided to get rid of it. You can still see where the runway was in 2002 but that's about it. In our DCS map it is empty space with the new block of flats build recently. Not sure if ED will be able ever recreate the base - I couldn't find any aerial photos of it anywhere unfortunately.
  9. Yes - I have noticed. This is why I am mostly using Google Earth Pro set to year 2002 (for Baghdad as other locations in Iraq are often not available as far back) Here is same location in 2002: null They started demolishing this building in May 2018:
  10. nullThere are also two bunkers - or at least they look like standard Iraqi trapezoid bunkers. Attached Image is circa 2002 - No blocks of flats present to East, Southeast.
  11. This is why I am staying away from mods and why I placed this topic in the "wish list" I am not qualified to comment on "splitting community" issue as I am pretty much SP most of the time and hardly ever fly paid campaigns (They are amazing, but again - I have no time...) In the end, creating high quality assets takes time and effort, not to mention keeping up with base game updates to maintain them working. Sounds like full time job - one that deserves fair pay. Some would buy dedicated Gulf War Themed assets, others would go for Early Cold War stuff, Vietnam War, WW2, Korean War or any other available. Since these are mostly overlapping Soviet Era equipment with slight variations in performance - it would be probably relatively easy to "mass produce them" just like their real live counterparts were . I would buy them all, even though I am mostly hooked on 1990's to early 2000's era.
  12. currenthill is very talented, I've seen his mods. They are amazing. Certainly, on the level that I would be happy to pay for. I have monumental respect for his skills and knowhow. He does however produce modern assets, and I am more after 1950 - 2000's (which for Iraq would be mostly 1960-1980's) tech.
  13. I know it would be low/no priority thing on their list to do. Hopefully someday(tm) it will happen. That is why in the meantime I asked for more existing assets to be added to Iraq faction. I know BTR80 or 1L131 EWR is not realistic for them for the period - however it is better than nothing and from 20000ft it looks close enough for government work... Modders do great work overall and I tip my hat for their skills and knowledge on the subject, but personally I stay away from mods because of how little time I can spare on DCS, staying vanilla, kept me mostly trouble free. I simply do not have time to tinker with mods. Perhaps making room for official modding community (similar to Arma) would be the solution for ED - I am sure I have seen this asked on this forum before (cannot find it now). Personally, I would be happy to buy professionally done assets packs either made by ED or third party, as long they are working without tinkering and are maintained. Logic suggests, that if and when we get dynamic campaign - some assets will have to be updated, expanded and moved around - as currently a lot of factions aside from Russian/Soviet Union and maybe Iran, they are quite incomplete, and I have to use combined red instead. Sure, same probably would work on dynamic campaign, but it would be nice to have realistic and accurate assets for the faction.
  14. I am not sure if this was posted in the past or not. Gulf War first night targets map - with useful list of important targets. Interestingly it lists few places which may be locations of Taskforce Normandy EW radar sites or at least they may be close by - Wadi Al Khirr Airbase, Mudaysis AB and Al-Nukhib (Nukhayb) Source: Gulf War Air Power Survey Vol. 1 (available online in redacted version - quite interesting read if you are into Desert Storm) null I have done some further digging and it looks like these EW sites were moved at least twice before air campaign started. Initially they were reported to be as close as 1 mile from Saudi border, then they were moved between 20 to 47 Miles back into hardened position. Finally, they were moved again 10 miles closer to the border and consolidated into just 2 sites that were destroyed at the beginning. 15. Ah yes - good old IFA trucks... It would be nice to get them as well... Especially if Fulda Gap/Central Europe/Cold War map would materialise. Thank you for the cool photos!

    Iraq Assets

Dear ED, I would like to ask you to consider adding more Iraq assets please. - For the starters, could we have more current game assets made available to Iraq faction please? I know some of them may not be realistic for Iraq, but we have to use something anyway and therefore to build mission Combined Task Force Red/Blue is required. - It would be amazing to have more Iraq specific stuff as well - such us some bunkers, shelters, barracks, power plants, factory buildings and similar. - P15/18 Radar - Bar Lock Radar - I know these been mentioned elsewhere multiple times as requests and it would be amazing to have them... Thank you in advance for considering these suggestions.
  17. Dear ED, First - Thank you for the map - It's great to finally have it! I understand it is WIP and EA. However, I would like to ask you to consider correcting or "clearing" some locations - such as above AL Tuwaitha NRC. - Ground revetments around the facility appear to be too low and poorly defined in comparison to the real location. - Random and mostly civilian buildings and cars inside the facility grounds do not match aerial photos. Please consider some clearing out and hopefully some replacing with some custom buildings that match what is left there at least a little bit. Alternatively - Add structure assets so we can place something more useful there than old shed or random housing building. Please remove the crane and red/white antennas dotted around the complex. I could not see any of these on any aerial photos between 2002 and now neither on any historical photos/footage I could find online. - Please correct the road layout inside and around the complex - it is currently weird, and roads goes on top of the internal revetments between different parts of the complex. I could add similar suggestions to most of the significant known target areas from both Gulf Wars (Al Qaim, Baby Milk Factory and several others), but it has been mentioned here and there few times, so I don't want to repeat it - but they have similar problems - either random buildings and road layout or appear to be omitted completely and replaced with random generic civilian neighbourhoods. I would also like to praise @Huilque151 for this topic: Where he and others provided a lot of useful resources which could be used to improve these locations. Thank you for your hard work and thank you in advance for considering these suggestions.

  18. Regarding Task Force Normandy Radars, I have been trying to locate them for some time now... Based on the articles I've read about helicopter attack on them - they should be somewhere West of the road which goes from the border at Al Judaida, via Ar Rattawi towards Al-Nukhib. In the article it was said that spare units were holding pattern north of Arar in Saudi Arabia just south of Iraqi border. Now this would make sense because that part of desert on Iraqi side is quite hilly, so I was trying to find the former EW sites by elevation as well as relatively easy road access. So far found possible location but it may be too far to the West and too close to the border... I will keep looking... Coordinates if somebody is interested: 32° 1'13.63"N 40°23'29.27"E
  19. This is great work you've done Huilque151. Thank you! I would also recommend checking out "Ballons and Drones" website - there is couple of interesting articles with maps of air defence sectors, their command centres locations and numbers/types of AA/SAMS used by Iraq during Desert Storm. It may not be accurate enough to pinpoint their locations to the degree, but with little bit of Google Earth Pro (using historical layers) it should be possible to narrow down some of the locations quite well.
  20. ED please consider adding this AB eventually, hopefully at some point... in the future... Regardless, I can't wait for this map and thank you for your work.
  21. Yep - looks like that... At least it does not work for me.
  22. I would like to see F4G one day - and would be happy to purchase it. I wouldn't say no to AI version either (that and Prowler).
  23. Hi, this is great script - Thank you very much MBot! Is there any way to specify targets (units) within the group? For example - flight of two to drop GBUs on search and track radars of sam site rather than them choosing random units within the group - such as launchers. I suppose I could alternatively make drop on specified coordinates on the map hitting exactly where I want. I was thinking it should be possible to specify units same as you can specify static targets? Thank you in advance.
  24. Great Video, Thank you ED! I would like to know more about Iraq map - I know it's been said it will initially centre on Baghdad and then extended further south. How far North and East it will cover? Will there be Mosul? I would love to see screenshot of the coverage - current and planned...
