  3. I haven't flown Cage The Bear for a long time but from memory it's a lone F-14, I've used this method on multiple hot start missions without issue.
  4. Haven't tried it with this mission in particular but I have opened other missions in the mission editor and changed the player aircraft to a cold and dark aircraft. I'm not at my PC at the moment but from memory open the mission editor go to File>Open navigate to the folder that contains the Cage The Bear mission (can't remember if they're in the DCS folder or the saved game folder sorry) click on the player aircraft on the carrier deck and edit it so you have to go through start up. Then File>Save As and give it a name. If you get stuck I'm happy to load it up and write it step by step.
  5. Boxed with all manuals Unused hand controllers. I have had to buy a new V2 cable recently so that is also included. It has been used once to test it. £180 posted. If you're within an hour of Falmouth I can drop it off for £170.
  6. @HungryHarveyapologies I've only just seen this. I still have it and have also had to purchase a brand new V2 cable due to a scammer on ebay. If you're still interested feel free to send me a PM. I'm looking for £210 posted. I live a few miles from Falmouth in Cornwall. If you're anywhere near can deliver it.
  7. Thanks for you reply, I've stripped the insides of the base itself in the past and a few other peripherals but usually have guides to follow or an idea of how things come apart. I can't figure how this comes apart though. Virpil are going to have it back to change it instead.
  8. I set ny Collective base up over the weekend to have a go with the Chinook. Both my grips (Hawk60 and Apache) are being very temperamental. It's taking a lot of fiddling each time I start my PC and install the grip to get the light then buttons to work. I think there's some dust or something in the cable. I've used a pin to try and remove anything in there and thought I'd cracked it last night but after removing the grip to test this morning it's back to fiddling to get it connected. Has anyone replaced one of these before that could give me some guidance on what cable to buy and how to do it please? I've asked Virpil and they've said it'll need to go back to them but as it's out of warranty I don't want to shell out if I can do it myself. Thanks
  9. in the 7 years or so I've been playing DCS this is the first time a module I've wanted hasn't been available on Steam pretty much immediately. Same for the update. They usually land at the same time so this is unusual in my experience, saying that so is a patch late on a Friday night. I have noticed the CH-47 has a page on Steam now which it didn't when I looked at about 9pm but can only add to wishlist at the moment so assuming the patch hasn't released yet either.
  10. Thamks @MAXsenna. I spoke to Virpil and they said it shouldn't have been possible to do it so seems like it was a fortunate quirk of my previous installation sadly.
  11. Haven't heard of one, the AVA base has those rings you can swap to limit the travel that look like the ring on the WH wonder if one of those would fit? Edit: Just had a look at the AVA those rings are called Masks I think.
  12. I'm really interested in this base. Particularly for flying Helicopters. My CM3 isn't smooth around the centre, even with the springs and Cams removed. Nyogel improved it but it's still virtually impossible to go smoothly diagonal from the centre. How is this base compared to the CM3? Do any of you that have it also have the CM3? Can you give your thoughts on this please?
  13. Thanks for that @Rogue Trooper. I did the opposite with mine started from fully tight and released them. Got to be honest your way makes a lot more sense .
  14. I raised a ticket with Virpil and they said they'd never seen this issue, sadly mine was out of warranty but as part of the discussion with them I tried it without the CB and had the same problem. I completely removed this central shaft and reseated it. Once I'd put it back together and reinstalled the CB the movement is pretty much gone. I think I may have unseated it when I put on the CB kit.
  15. Hi, A couple of months ago I had to reinstall Windows 10 and then recalibrate my Virpil bits. Prior to this I could swap between the Hawk60 and Apache Grip for the collective base and the VFX and Warthog/Hornet grip for the CM3 base without have to re recalibrate it. Since reinstalling Windows though everytime I swap a grip on either device the device isn't recognised and I have to run through the calibration in the VPC software again. Does anyone know why? Is there a setting perhaps? Thanks
  16. Hi, I've had the counter balance kit installed for a few months but wanted to check something with other users. With it installed if I have the clutches on the base anything other than slightly less than fully tightened there's a lot of wobble in the arm of the base which translatescto quite a lot of movement at the grip.... even more so if using the Apache grip. Has anyone else found this? Is it normal? I think I had the clutches on less before I added the Counter Balance kit. I followed the installation guide and have taken it apart several times since trying to find why but no joy. I've added some pictures showing how i've got it installed. Thanks
  17. Updated the firmware but still the same issue.
  18. I'm using a couple of Virpil bits yes
  19. Are you also using VR? I bought the F5 recently but hadn't used it yet so gave that a test and was able to map it without any problems so just affecting the F4
  20. As the title says. I'm unable to map more than one or 2 controls before the game freezes and I need to restart it. Once I've done that as soon as I go into the Controls menu either from the main menu or pause menu it'll freeze again and I have to close down again. I restarted my PC this afternoon and was able to map a couple more controls it's just frozen again. Again I restarted DCS went into the controls menu and it froze again. I'm using a Quest Pro headset I don't know if this is relevant but Controls wise it's a Warthog throttle, Virpil CM3 base with a Warthog grip and Virpil Collection pedals, i've got 2 Total Controls MPD's plugged in too.
  21. @jungleboy123 Sorry no Orion isn't for sale. @Speedy_Sorry I've had such a faff sending to the EU that I only post to Mainland UK. @Tricky11 Can have the base for £95 posted. Send me a PM if you're interested.
  22. Damper arrived today. Overall very impressed with it. I don't have my pedals mounted on the base, instead they're screwed through the carpet into the floorboards. Due to them being an inch or so lower than with the base attached installation was a bit tricky but only took 25-30 minutes. I made a mistake with the placement of the bracket so could only move the right pedal about half way. It was an easy fix but again tricky to get the 5mm hex key into such a tiny space to loosen it. I'd recommend only tightening it finger tight until the whole damper is mounted, then back it off until it moves freely along the shaft of the damper when you move the pedals. Push the right pedal to full deflection which will put the bracket in the correct location on the shaft then use the 5mm hex to tighten the bracket down keeping the right pedal fully deflected. Have used it for an hour or 2 this evening with the F-14 and it works extremely well. Damper is very smooth and it has eliminated that bounce in the middle that Virpil pedals have... I do use both spings though. Along with the counter balance kit Virpil's accessories so far this year are top notch.
  23. Looks like Windows recognises it though so could try to reset to default. Is the base connected to the motherboard or a usb hub? Probably a long shot but are you able to create a new profile for it? At least then you'll get the option to select your base and grip which may kick it into life
  24. Had the same issue with the DLC/Countermeasures button while setting up my VFX this evening after a several month hiatus. I went into the controllers menu (in your second screenshot above) and reset my base to default. After that was able to create a new profile in the VPC Software and the button worked again. Hope you get it sorted
  25. Thanks for the tips @cow_art. Great they've started to be shipped. Hopefully will land in the UK in a week or 2.
