  1. Hi, I'm looking to purchase an Orion 2 Throttle with the F15e grips however looking at the website there are different options for both grips. I know I want E with fingerlifts rather than the EX but what is meant by duel throttle connectors? Is that each grip has it's own connector? If I order that one does it not have finger lifts? Sorry if this is a daft question i've currently got a mixture of Virpil and TM gear so haven't got a clue where WW are concered. Hoping an Orion owner will know. Thanks
  2. I've found sitting in a certain position before recentring the view helps me during the Boresighting process. I sit in Different positions to centre the view for Different Modules. What works for me in the Apache is to sit pretty much in the spot where I'm comfortable then learn my head back slightly while keeping the headset pointing forward and also centred on my stick. I then recentre the view and sit naturally again. I find i'm in pretty much the perfect position for boresighting.
  3. Thanks for that, you've given an idea of how I can mount it now. Nice setup btw
  4. Thanks for the suggestions both. I've got a Virpil base and their 20cm extension along with a desk mount, i like the idea of a car seat though @Mr_sukebe are you able to post a picture at all?
  5. Is there anyone in the UK who can recommend a cheapish gas lift chair, with a cut out for the stick. I've looked at Mostertech however I refuse to pay that amount of money for an office chair plus another 130 for the piece that they removed from it. I've got a base I can use so ideally just the chair itself. Thanks
  6. Probably not historically accurate but...
  7. Thanks for the information @TZeer can it be removed in the VPC sotware? if so do you know how please?
  8. I know this is an old thread however have known this issue in other VR Sims I have used over the last 9 or 10 years so thought i'd add my 2 cents. If my view is too high as it was when I fired up the Spitfire yesterday I sat up in my chair, re centred the view then when you go back to your normal sitting position you're right where you need to be. I find the F14 view too far forward and a little high so I lean forward and raise my head slightly. Re centre the view and that's always good for me. Straightforward I know but someone told me this method for another sim I play years ago thought it might be helpful here too.
  9. Can't help feeling disappointed JK aside though anticipation of your F-14 was the whole reason I ventured into DCS back in 2018 and even though i'm not a hardcore DCS flyer.... nor wholey proficient in the Tomcat it is still the aircraft that I love and always go back to.
  10. That's interesting, all the time I used it with the WH base I never knew the twist axis could be used as a button press. I knew the DLC wheel could and used it as the DLC... as I expect the vast majority of VFX owners with the WH base. Makes sense that the twist axis can also be used as button presses now you've said it but never realised it for the 3 months I used the WH base lol
  11. The twist axis version does work with the Warthog base but you don't have the functionality on the twist axis. I bought the twist axis version of the VFX and locked it out while using the WH base. It's still locked out on my Virpil base but I wanted the option if I decided I could use it for something.
  12. I was having similar issues with OBS until I started using openXR. One of the included files was a plugin for DCS. not 100% sure if that's what helped but i'm able to record videos now without the lag I was having previously.
  13. I would snatch your pals hand off for that machine. That is a very similar spec to mine that I use with a Reverb G2, Sadly I bought mine when prices were daft so paid about 5 times that. . It's a very capable VR machine. Good luck and welcome to DCS
  14. Would owners of this base mind sharing how you've got it set up please? I have the base and the 200mm extension. I use the VFX grip for the F-14 of course and then the TM Warthog grip for the Apache, Huey.... well everything else and it's attached to one of Virpil's long desk mounts When I first got the base at the end of November I didn't buy the extension. While using the soft spring and the no centre aviation cams it felt great for the Apache, was happily holding level flight at 90 ft over the desert and using the smallest amount of pressure fore and aft to change altitude if required something I never managed to do with the Warthog base. I've since bought the curved extension too and like the extra travel but really can't dial it in. My hovers were ok previously but no matter how much i've changed the Cams, Springs, Curves, Saturation I can't find the sweet spot anymore. I'm hoping some of you can share your setups then I can use them as a starting point to get back to something passable. As far as the F-14 goes I find i'm ok-ish, although it's quite twitchy just off centre so maybe the curves are too high, again hoping for a starting point to try to get back to where I was with the Warthog. Thanks
  15. It's one of my annoyances since swapping from a Rift CV1 to a Reverb G2. The Rift's display would sleep but as soon as you put in back on DCS would still be running and the display would wake up back into the Sim no matter how long I left it. The Reverb doesn't do this and no matter how good "The Boss" is when I'm flying / Trucking there's always occasions, like tonight when she called me downstairs for my tea that I have to step away from a session. There's a setting in WMR to set the length of time before it goes to sleep though. Mine's set to 20 mins which is usually enough time to do what I need to before it times out but still feel the Rift's solution was better.
  16. Exactly this, I am hoping that the ability to disable this hypothetical animation will be implemented. Or someone can tell me if there's a file I can edit to get rid of any delay.
  17. From BIGNEWY's reply above it does seem that it was an intentional change and I fully understand that the reason it's been done is to tie in with the animation, however from my perspective i'm not looking at the helicopter from the outside when i'm flying it, I won't enable the piliot's body when that is implemented so an animation is no use whatsoever. I also already move my hand to press the button to raise/lower the Monacle. Not a huge issue just an annoyance that appeared to be a bug tied to the update. On a positive note though the Apache does seem a lot more stable since the update, my takeoffs are a lot smoother and I've found it a lot easier to transition in an out of a hover which makes my flying appear more skilled than it actually is. Thanks for taking the time to reply anyway @shagrat
  18. Thanks @BIGNEWY. I'd appreciate you passing it on to the relevant team even an option to enable/disable the sync with the animation would be great. I see that it matches the animation however when you're flying in the cockpit without a pilots body you're not looking at the animation from the outside. Thank you for your input
  19. You could also argue that an animation of the pilot/CPG hitting the WAS button would be more "realistic" or that an animation of the Pilot/CPG tapping the buttons on the MPD's is more "realistic" however it would get old pretty quickly if every time a guy with an AK started firing at you, you had to wait for a couple of seconds for a hypothetical animation of the Pilot reaching over and tapping the WAS button to complete before you could use the gun for example. If it was an intentional change and not a bug at least. This is the only function I've ever come across in any simulator I've played where there is a delay between activating something and it actually happening. Hopefully something that ED will fix soon
  20. Maybe there'll be an animation when the Pilot bodies are introduced of the hand moving it although I tend not to use the pilot bodies tbh. It was always something I used without even thinking about it whereas now I press the button then am waiting, Albeit only a couple of seconds but it's now something I'm consciously waiting for. hopefully there'll a least be an option to say if you want the animation/ delay or not.
  21. You're right t was there, but prior to todays update when I pressed the button it would immediately raise/lower the IHADSS now there is a delay of around 2 seconds from the button press to the monacle raising or lowering.
  22. Since the update today there is a delay of a few seconds when I press the button I have mapped to lower/raise the monacle. I was flying the Apache this morning and it was instant as it's been since launch back in March. I didn't see anything in the patch notes for the AH64 relating to this. It's quite annoying now having to wait for it I've realised since the update how often I did raise and lower it.
  23. Seconded : I use just the cockpit textures from this mod rather than the whole package and as well as being able to read everything in the cockpit without zooming, it's helped make the F-14 playable again.
  24. No problem, I only play SP though so no idea if it passes IC or not.
