  1. Maybe Pave Penny is something else or something old school. I mean the circle with a dot in the middle that points down. It seems like in free flight mode it pops up randomly after a take off bomb drop then landing might be a bug?
  2. Pave penny What I was asking is how do I display the pave penny in the HUD? It's easy to arm and select then drop unguided bombs but how to I use pave penny so I can drop bombs accurately? Sure I would take any help I can get to learn the A-10C weapon systems.
  3. I would do you right ;-) thanks for making such a great sim. :-)
  4. I have had A10C for about a year now. I have learned how to fly and use dumb bombs, gun and I have just now learned how to use mavericks. I wanted to ask how do I use the pickle? for unguided bombs? After I learn this I just need to know how to use navigation systems auto pilot and finally how to use guided bombs. After this I should be able to use all the A-10C weapon systems. I am really looking forward to a new engine? and some high fidelity aircraft. I truly enjoy A-10C thanks for making it.
  5. "insert the LockOn 1.1: Flamming Cliffs disc into the disc drive and press "retry". I sent the huge report file to support... I downloaded this patch what am I going to do now? Is there a fix for this issue? I can't even use this thing WTF? Never mind I fixed it....
  6. I went from a BFG 6800 GT to a 7800 GT and there was a very noticeable performance difference. I can run 4X AA and AF with out major slow down, which is great because before I could only use 2XAA and get good performance. A 6800 GT runs extremely hot where as a 7800 is much cooler. There are major advancements in how they produced the 7800 line of cards. It was worth the money to me. I sold the 6800GT on ebay for $170...
  7. Is your video card PCI-E? A lot of newer generation video cards have latency that's completely unnecessary. There is a PCIlatency tool that can fix some CPU bottleneck and fix some stuttering problems that some people have had. http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=951
  8. The things I don't like about the aircraft lights is that they are not colored correctly for realism. They don't have detail color to them they are just like light objects. They don't have diffrent modes and basically they look very unrealistic IMO. It's nice that they cast light on to other objects this is great. But this should be a secondary detail. The lights them selves don't even match with the real aircraft light colors and functions. After they made this then they could have added more detail in how the light casts on to other objects. The other lighting in LOCK ON is great I am really only talking about the aircraft lights. I don't know it's just some thing that I think would add to the realism and overall quality of the SIM.
  9. I would still say that a 6600GT is the only way to go. It supports newer technology and you will be seeing a lot of newer games that are optimized for NVIDIA cards. The technology that NVIDIA has in its current line ATI does not. This means that DEVs can only favor NV for the time being. Sm 3.0 makes it a lot easier to create effects in games. So I think the rule of thumb should be go with the newer technology even if it's not 300 times better than older tech.
  10. The things I would like to see are.... 1. Working turbines for all aircraft. 2. Aircraft lights that match the real color and function of the actual aircraft. 3. The high altitude vapor trail needs to be taken out or made so that it looks much better. Now it looks like a single texture that's no so realistic. 4. I would like to see some improvements to the graphics engine. This would be some things like lighting effects and support for new technology. 5. F-18's that are fully finished and fully functional in this sim... *1st* :!:
  11. Actually its SM 3.0 that can create these glow effects better than most things. If such a thing were to be implemented in LOCK ON it would speed the game up in many areas. Basically SM 3.0 does what SM 2.0 does but more efficiently for speed but these lighting effects exists in SM 3.0 but no so much in SM 2.0. What slows LOCK ON down is not the game engine it's self. It's the way the engine and the environment renders together. I think it would be a really nice idea to have lighting effects such as the ones suggested. :D I don't think LOCK ON even supports SM 2.0 right? It might have to have a new engine I guess.
  12. Well one aircraft will be finished... :) What about the other aircraft? :( These really need some attention as well. Some small polishing for all aircraft in this game would go a long way. Maybe there will be a patch for ver 1.1 when it comes out that will address the realism issues and maybe overall polish up some of the code. :D *wishes*
  13. There are many other non-flyable aircraft that don't have spinning turbines. The flyable A-10 is the worst of them all. It does not spin it's like a very low-res non-functional skin. The Aircraft lights look like complete crap IMHO. There is just no way these can be acceptable. All I would like to see is some polished details that are very important. The A-10 engines are a mess you should be able to see the spinning turbines for at least the flyable aircraft. The aircraft lights should look like they do in real life and they should function the same. It's the small details that would make this game a lot better. The aircraft lights should at least match the real life colors and they should strobe. Look at the aircraft lights in FS2004 they are great. LOCK ON should blow away these aircraft lights but they don't even come close to doing so. :?
  14. Are there going to be any fixes for non-working turbines? They don't spin at all right now. It looks very crappy and unfinished. The lights don't work also they look like 8-bit single color green things right now. The lights should be as nice as the ones from flight simulator 2004. But these two small details will determine whether or not I buy the add on. Why? Because they are so noticeable that it's hard to even get into the game with these problems.
  15. Re: What is Lock ons graphics engine like? Far cry's? Doom 3 Well a 6600GT is about twice as fast as a 9800XT in some applications. But I would say for most games a 6600GT is about 20-25% faster than a 9800PRO. FAR CRY and UT 2004 uses technology that's optimized for multi card formats so you won’t see big differences in FPS with most middle end cards. These games also use video filter technology in their design so that 30 FPS seems as fast as 50FPS. As far as Lock On the 6600GT would be faster I could only assume but not by much. The 6600GT should be noticeably faster than a 9800 PRO 100% of the time. With that I would also say that I have a PCI-E 6800 Ultra OC and it runs Lock On well but at full settings it brings my system down in FPS. I don’t use LOMAN but I can get about 500FPS and as low as 40FPS with LOCK ON. This game is horribly crap when it comes to optimizations.
