So I'm building a few items and want to get some opinions. F16 ICP - those 4 dials around the outside for brightness, etc. I feel that axis pots give finer control than rotary encoders, but not sure if BMS and DCS prefer to have it as rotary encoders rather than pots? F16 throttle - the radar elevation and radar range/uncage knobs. Would they be better with rotary encoders or pots? For the radar range/uncage knob I'm guessing a rotary encoder with a depress switch is better to address the uncage function, since I haven't come across axis pots that can be depressed.

I noticed you used a 60 degree hall sensor. Would it be better to use a 90 degree one and limit it via the software? Also, can we use any hall sensor pot, or do only certain types work?

I was wondering how feasible this is, with the parts bring rather common. These are aluminum tubes and slider parts that people use to put together camera video rigs. Does anyone think there will be friction problems when sliding? As for measuring the axis movement,I'm thinking of attaching an audio fader below the assembly. Is it possible to do this instead with hall sensors, assuming the travel length is around 15 cm? Can the magnetic strength be measured over this distance?

Thank you!

Can I ask where the mods go? The instructions say just unzip to the main DCS path, but do I leave them in \Steamgames\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Pastrana_MONITOR_Mod_Rain_Cockpit01, or \Steamgames\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Bazar\

My new F-16 TQS project, with a few tasteful mods.

I'm very interested in converting my throttle to a rail setup. Do you have any detailed shots of the rail mechanism? Was it entirely 3d printed?
