  1. Damnit! Always thought they were a British invention :D Either way, absolute madlads to think of it, build it and fire it.
  2. Others spend their leftover money on going out with the boys and gain nothing but bad memories, regrets and worse hangovers and the absolute s**ts due to a bad kebab. I spend my leftover money on modules I feel is interesting enough for me to spend money on, and hope that they one day become as bug free as it is possible to get them. That's why the Viper was a first-day purchase for me, even though I knew full well it would be VERY rough around the edges. That's also why I bought the Harrier, which is the aircraft that has given me quite a lot of fun, excitement and outright hysterical giggles, despite/because of the bugs it has. If one can't foot the bill for a module that turns out to be trash or not the right kind of module, maybe people should re-evaluate their purchase-habits. Just a thought.
  3. Easier to adopt a "It'll get here when it does"-mindset anyway. There's a reason as to why I'm the Arch-bishop of the Church of Two Weeks™. I waited 15 years for the Viper in DCS. I can wait for a LONG time for it to be as done as it can. Same with every other module in production, regardless of hypefactor.
  4. You have to be british to be mad enough to build an overwing pod that's part fueltank and part rocketpod! Love the aircraft, though.
  5. They posted a very rough 3D-model of an F100. That doesn't mean that they've put down a single line of code on it yet. Stop seeing funnelbacks where there are none.
  6. I don't call other users silly. I call the opinion they stated as silly. Vast difference in those two, my friends, as you are not your opinion. :sly:
  7. I'm not defending Razbam at all. I'm countering your arguement that news about DCS and any modules, in-house or third-party, should only be announced here and NOT at various Discord-channels or Facebook in addition to being posted here. There's absolutely no reason as to why news cannot be posted to other media as well as here. To claim so is, frankly speaking, outright silly. You're either deliberately misreading my post, or I worded myself poorly. And I'm thinking the first one is the case here. My arguement is that Razbam and any other third-party is free to post on both Discord and Facebook, as long as they also post the same info here! THAT is my arguement. I don't like that people like Chickensims and others were banned from their Discord unless, of course, people have been more about bitching, ranting and raving at them than actually asking engaging in meaningful conversations like the adults we all are (or at least should be). Should Razbam moderate their Discord differently? Sure, one can argue that they should. Using mute/doghousing/mittens is a far better way to deal with unruly people, but hell, even ED has banned people from the forums and from what I've understood also subsequently from the game itself (NineLine and/or Bignewy, please correct me if I'm wrong). Sometimes you have no other options than to outright ban people when they can't or won't behave like sensible adults. And before you go there; Yes, I know that Razbam has been heavy-handed in the last week or so. I've been there for much of the time, trying to figure out just what the hell is going on. The whole paying customer-arguement is idiotic. Maybe I'm used to our silly ways up here in the frozen, mountainous wastes of Norway, but if you behave like a muppet in a store here, you'll get chucked out of said store. The customer isn't always right, even if he paid money for something. Sure, it's always a case of whether or not one can lose the business and survive or not, but that's how it is. The moral is basically the same as in life in general: Don't be a d**k. Yes, Razbam is going to have to deal with salt and vitriol, and that over time. I'm not arguing against that at all. And even after years have gone past, people will still remember this quackup, and some will never touch their products again at all (People still remember the FOS, CubanAce and VEAO-situation quite well, and it's been literal years). That's life, people are fully in their right to do so, it's their money after all. You're right that one patch won't make up for the loss of confidence. It won't, the wound is basically caused by a 12.7mm LDMP-round to the chest (extra bellybutton where it goes in, large pizza where it went out), and the patch, although good from looking at the notes, is a band-aid in the current situation. But it WILL help pull that wound at least a LITTLE more closed than it is now, and if they continue to put out good patches but most of all: start communicating with us here on the forums, preferrably just as much as they do on Discord and/or Facebook then MAYBE they can come back from being the pariah of the DCS community like they are now. I get it. These forums are pretty hostile on the best of days. We're all passionate creatures, and sometimes a bit TOO passionate. We can only hope that Razbam gets a new full-time CM in place, and fast, to act as a liaison between the RB-team and the community on a very regular basis and preferrably weekly at the very least. But having been both a CM and IRC ChannelOP before, it's a lonely, thankless job that you need a really damn thick skin for. I hope for whomever gets the jobs' sake that they're ready for what's in store for them.
  8. Just because you don't use either Facebook or Discord doesn't invalidate the use of those two channels of communication for and to others that do. I use all three. Posting the info on all three won't be any skin off your back. By the same "logic", NVidia should only post the news about their 30x0-series of graphics-cards on their site and nowhere else. Sorry, but that line of thinking is frankly silly in this day and age.
  9. Ït doesn't matter if it's posted to Discord, Facebook and their webpage. As long as it also gets posted, by them, on the boards.
  10. I'm not arguing who the fault lies with. That's pretty damn well cut, made, served and known. What I'm arguing is the USE of posting things. We all know that the community will crucify them either way, regardless of what's said. History has proved that time and time again over the last 15 years that I've been here, and whether it's correct to do so or not is completely not the discussion. We can sit and argue back and forth as much as we like. Doesn't change the fact that RB pooped the bucket by not communicating on the boards pretty much at all. And it doesn't change the fact that coming to the forums at this time with basically anything at all, regardless of what it is, will see them stapled upside down to the wall naked by their gonads. Can you honestly say that the community would sit quietly and politely ask balanced and well-founded questions instead of instantly fire off all the broadsides they could, and thus both creating a post that would be heavily moderated and/or shut down instantly? If they want to mend things, drop a patch with major upgrades and improvements on it. Get their heads above the water, and THEN write a post outlining in full honesty what they've done wrong, what could have been done better, how they plan to change it, AND have a presence on the forums as much as possible. That's what I think, anyway. Others will most likely disagree vehemently.
  11. Not so hard to understand what they're doing: They don't have a presence here on the forums, and it was sketchy at best even when Decoy was their CM. Until that changes things will most likely continue as before. On the GBU-32 and -54: This has always been ED's task, and once that's complete, it'll also be ready for the Harrier. Why spend dev-resources on something that the main partner is already doing? Right now I honestly don't think that coming to the boards would do any good what so ever, unless it's in a locked thread. The community is all up in arms and have their pitchforks out, and any statement from them would be met with outright hostility and attacks. Sure, much of it warranted, and one can argue that we as paying customers have a right to voice our opinions about how they've behaved, but you know as well as everyone else that whatever they say wouldn't be enough to even begin to close that wound.
  12. Updated post by Prowler from their Discord: RAZBAM_Prowler: In release queue -Damage model logic improved and additional damage parts - Corrected error in engine efficiency table at high altitudes that was resulting in higher than designed thrust loss at very high altitudes - Fixed SAAHS paddle disable incorrectly resetting stick trim position and not resetting rudder trim and will now correctly restore rudder trim when released - Fixed Speedbrake logic based on SME information to extend as long as OUT is pressed and will fully retract when IN is pressed (Allows for partial extension but will always fully retract) - Corrected Rocker Switch bleeding into MPD bezel - BUGFIX: Corrected aircraft diverting prior to maneuvering tone envelope - BUGFIX: Structural load damage no longer instantaneous, now requires sustained over-tolerance for structural failure [3:02 AM] RAZBAM_Prowler: - BUGFIX: Corrected where large body angular rates (out of control) was resulting in infinite values - BUGFIX: HUD Repeater too large. - IMPROVEMENT: Reduced Font Size for EHSD data - BUGFIX: Dual rack bombs release order - IMPROVEMENT: Backup ADI cage/pitch adjust Keybinds - BUGFIX: Pull up cue not appearing when selected. - BUGIFX: RWR knob increments - IMPROVEMENT: RWR Minimum Volume value reduced - BUGFIX: EHSD auto zoom leads to symbology misplaced. - BUGFIX: MPCD, brightness control buttons behavior - BUGFIX: MPCD, Moving Map too bright - Included GUB32 and GUB54 - BUGIFX: Harrier default rocket ranges inverted - BUGIFX: EHSD decenter display overlay misplaced - BUGFIX: Seat Height adjustment non-functional (Partial, requires seat animation) - BUGFIX: RWR partially functional when ON - BUGFIX: MPCD ECM page retruns to calling page. - BUGFIX: SS Left now cycles Map Center, Decenter and EW page Maybe released - BUGFIX: Harrier, In cockpit rudder trim switch does not function - BUGIFX: EHSD, Course over ground incorrect in Mag mode - AGM-122: Removed HUD limitations Ready for release - TPOD axis dead zone has been reduced. - BUGFIX: DMT slaved to AIM9 Seeker. - BUGFIX: Sidewinder being fired when cycling from AG to AA to AG - BUGFIX: Comm channel selector not sequencing correctly - BUGFIX: HUD reject logic inverted - BUGFIX: AGM-122 Sidearn seeker head does not align with RWR source - BUGFIX: TPOD in powerup mode when starting HOT - BUGFIX: Altimeter adjustment knob erratic functionality - BUGFIX: CRS knob erratic functionality More info that was discussed last night is how the MPCD and HUD graphics are done. Right now the Harrier apparantly uses .DDS-textures, which can suffer from scaling-issues among other things. Here's what Prowler had to say about that: RAZBAM_Prowler: SVG, short for Scalable Vector Graphics. It is basically a text file that says how to draw an image. The most important differnce is that svg requires less memory than the dds texture files.Something to take into consideration with aircrafts with glass cockpits. Also, dds is not scalable and suffers from screen resolution.SVG is completely scalable, it will always draw clear no matter what resiltuion. In fact it looks better in VR than in a screen Would of course have liked to see more posts about this from them here on the forums.
  13. BUNO 163853 and above. Which means there can be quite a few BUNO's above it with varying blocks, just like how one F16C block 50 isn't immediately the same as the F16C block 50.
  14. The manual and some weapons are missing, plus PARTS of the VREST and ARBS-calculations. The rest are major and minor bugs. Stop saying that the module is unplayable. It’s not.
  15. Eh, the 106 is a bit too limited in what it can do for me to be all that interested. Would love a 100, a 105 or a 111, though.
  16. I tend to do coldstarts every time, but that's because I like learning the procedure even though I'll never get to use it in real life. I also don't care if others autostart. It retracts absolutely nothing from my experience if others do or don't what so ever, and I really don't give two dead, flat hoots about the option being there. It's there out of convenience for those that wants to use it, and annoyance to silly tosspots with a superiority-complex. Basically: You do you, let others do themselves. It's no skin off your back that others do or don't use autostart.
  17. Study-level is mostly used to describe the depth of said simulation, in this case "as close to the real thing as possible". It also means that it takes a LOT of time and practice to master it. Yes, a manual will help with that, but it's only a small part of the whole equation. And it IS fully possible to learn a study-level flightsim module like the Harrier both without a manual and with the bugs it currently has. Why? Because you don't die when you mess up.
  18. Aw, no CENC-tweeting, then. I has a sad. (sort of. The 229 is awesome :D) Hmm..or does the -229 actually have the CENC? Now I'm just confused...
  19. Cheeky bastard :D I like it! Modern (Digital) for me!
  20. I use these every single time I fly now :P It's a must-have if you fly the Harrier on a regular basis.
  21. Thanks! Quite useful for me, since I'm in the process of learning the Harrier.
  22. I'm pretty sure there'll be people from the EPAF-countries that'll introduce a mod that changes the external model to that of the boxtail-Vipers once the dust settles :)
  23. Exactly the same I saw working on the Viper duing my mandatory service here. It's also why I giggle when I see non-weathered skins and paints on models.
  24. No, people just have a very strange perception that fighterjets (and aircraft in general) are shiny and smooth at all times, which is NOT the case when you get up close and personal to one.
  25. Lots of exciting news in the roadmap! Thanks for that :D
