  1. Anyone had any luck getting a helicopter to work as your JTAC while he has established an orbit? I've tried every thing I can think (FAC, Assign Group, FAC Attack Group) of but once he is in an orbit all he will do is tell me is, "no tasking for now, standby." Before he gets to his orbit he'll feed me a target but once he is in an orbit he won't. :helpsmilie: Mission Attached. Callsign "Dodge" is the helicopter AFAC. Fixed wing aircraft seem to have no problem with orbits and calling out targets as AFACs, just helicopters. Test 2.miz
  2. She sounds cute. :-)
  3. Any chance we will eventually see vehicles like the Marines' LAV-25 and LVTP-7 crossing large rivers or capable of beachhead assaults? As of now they'll only cross streams.
  4. Well, after a few days of practicing I think I have air refueling down. Enclosed is a track of me refueling at night at 22000ft. I love this sim! Thirsty Hog at Night.trk
  5. Not sure what type of bug this qualifies as. Static Helicopters are showing up about 5ft under the ground for me. This happens where ever I put them. Screen shot and mission file included. My System specs: 2 x EVGA GTX 480s running in SLI EVGA x58 3xWAY SLI Classified Motherboard Intel I7 960 @ 3.2 Ghz 12 GB Corsair RAM Windows 7 x 64 BIT (running game in x86 mode) Track IR Ver 5 TEST.miz
  6. Shot of Laser from the 16th ACCW shooting a maverick during training. Shot taken by 16th Azazel :pilotfly:
  7. Concertina wire, Hescos, guard towers with guards that shoot at enemy solders. MK-19 for Humvees, guard towers, etc
  8. I've been trying to get the OH-58D to continue feeding me targets but once one target group is completely eliminated the Kiowa won't respond to me anymore. I've tried using all three different FAC Modes in the mission editor with no luck. Perform enroute task / FAC works best for me so far but still won't call me back once one group is completely knocked out. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
  9. Glad I could help! Having a blast flying this sim so far.
  10. This is getting kind of specific but since I spent 2 hrs last night getting it just right I figured I'd share the results of the effort. I have all CH Products flight controls: CH fighter stick, CH Pro Throttle, and CH Pro Petals. I've had them for over 6 years now and they have survived multiple moves and getting knocked around by my sometimes childish tantrums after crashing or getting shot down. Anyways, they rock. The CH Throttle has a mini stick and I've really never used it because it was way too sensitive and I was too lazy to fiddle with it. Well, I finally got around to setting it up. In this case, as the slew control for the TGP on the A-10C. Amazing results! Took awhile to get it right but now the TGP slew responds perfectly to minor and large movements to the mini stick. If you have one you must first go into axis controls and assign the mini stick to the x and y axis for the slew controls. Here are my settings in the Axis Tune for both X and Y: Dead Zone: 0 Saturation X= 100 Saturation Y= 21 Click on "Use Curve" Set sliders from left to right as such: 0, 10, 20, 20, 20, 23, 27, 30, 50, 100. The result of doing this will make the TGP creep a little when you adjust the mini stick a little and move quickly at full range motion of the mini stick. Essentially exponentially the more force applied. Much easier this way to acquire targets from 20 mi out instead of overshooting by using the key commands for TGP slew or mapping the keys to a hat switch. I'm also getting Maverick acquisitions around 6-7 mi now (26-34 sec flight time for maverick from about 8000 ft). The trick with the maverick, for me, is just keeping the target in the targeting gate on the MFD after making your maverick SPI. I also always use auto pilot (alt/heading) hold when shooting maverick approaches. Anyways, for what its worth, there it is.
  11. Nice! Tell him to take good look at the area around Paktika Province, Bermel District. Unforgiving shattered terrain.
  12. EAC works fine for me. The switch doesn't work on start up so I just maped it to a key: "e" in this case.
  13. Slow your rate of turn (g meter) in the vertical and if your carrying a full combat load you are probably going to need at least 300kts indicated in order to pull off the loop. Once your over the top you can be a little heavier on the stick but any thing over 4g is probably going to make the flight computer dump a wing.
  14. AH-64 A Apache or OH-58D Kiowa. As a airborne infantry vet of both Iraq and Afghanistan, I can truly say that the fight is more intense the closer you get to the ground. Also if I had another wish it would be an Afghanistan Map. From the air the terrain looks shattered (in places) and is a combat helo pilot's dream: endless possibilities for masking and pop-up attack.
  15. My guess is the ED is doing okay on sales. A-10C came out pretty quick it seems and that is usually a good sign that things are moving well in the business world. Examples of a few products in the sim world that aren't (or didn't): Fighter Ops and Jet Thunder. Yes, they are independent little guy developments but, just for some context, I remember reading about Jet Thunder in 2002. I have a decent attention span and outstanding patience but when you make me wait 8 years or longer for your product... I start to hate you a little. That being said, I am so grateful ED is out there and really making an awesome effort in creating modern air combat sims. ED could probably benefit in getting their product name out in adds some more but since it's a small market they are probably already in all the right places: Sim Hq, PC Pilot, etc. I'm also one of those people that would pay double price for this product but I don't recommend ED raise the price. Young people need to be able to afford it if the genre is going to survive. After all, I got hooked on this stuff around 13 and at the risk of sounding like a tobacco add, so can others. :-) Keep up the awesome work ED!
