  1. I just uploaded a mission that has my trigger based system of this. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89866 It is extremely trigger intensive to make but it does work.
  2. With the TGP up on the MFD, set OSB button #7 to "both"
  3. 6 SLOT MULTI-PLAYER MISSION 5 PARAGRAPH OPERATIONS ORDER FOLLOWS: THE DOG EAR COLLECTOR --------------SECRET///NOFORN///SECRET------------------ MISSION: FIND AND DESTROY ENEMY DOG EAR SURFACE TO AIR DEFENSE SITES. SITUATION: ENEMY SIT TEMP: THE ENEMY IS USING A TIERED SURFACE TO AIR MISSILE DECK THAT IS CONTROLLED BY MULTIPLE SEARCH RADAR SITES (SEE SLIDE 3). AT THE FRONT OF THEIR LINES MULTIPLE DOG EAR SAM SITES EXIST. INTELLIGENCE INDICATES THAT THESE SITES MOST LIKELY CONSIST OF A DOG EAR SEARCH RADAR SYSTEM THAT IS PROVIDING GUIDANCE TO MULTIPLE SA-13 AND ZSU-23 AA SYSTEMS (SEE SLIDE 4). THE DOG EAR SEARCH RADAR SYSTEMS ARE PROVIDING CRITICAL GUIDANCE TO THE SA-13 SAMs, HOWEVER ONCE THE DOG EAR SEARCH RADAR IS DESTROYED THE SA-13s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h how we all yearn for a simple crop duster's life around these parts.
  5. I'm kind of lost but welcome! What aircraft is this group starting with? Have they announced it yet? I saw the bit about the Harrier great news, but are they planning on starting with a Harrier?
  6. How Beczl is not working full time for ED yet is beyond me. Great job!
  7. I agree to a certain extent. I don't need my sim so in depth that I have to monitor engine wear and tear over flight hours (like FSX does). Some people want that, but to me if it keeps me from flying then I'd rather go without the feature. I do however like the idea of a limited amount of planes, vehicles, or weapons that a given side (blue or red) has available (like BMS does) because it keeps the server more dynamic/realistic.
  8. I agree completely. In the end (as it has always been) it is up to the mission builders to create a rewarding/fun/interesting or realistic experience for the pilots in the servers. As far as I'm concerned 3rd party developers can create whatever they want: DCS Flying Pancakes with frickin laser beamed melted butter. If I find it unrealistic or cheap/silly then I won't put it in the missions I make. I'll take a critical look at what people say about FC3 and then decide on that one after it comes out. That being said, I'm really excited about all the 3rd party projects and the new developers. They all seem to be "in touch" with what the community wants.
  9. I completely agree!
  10. Good call, those guys too.
  11. I couldn't agree more. If we could get those groups all on board with DCS, we'd have war simulation nirvana. Go get em Wags! :D
  12. Paying $40 bucks every year or so for the next DCS aircraft is not hitting my wallet that hard to be honest (I'm a college student). If anything, I'd happily pay $40 bucks every month if ED could put out high quality modeled aircraft at such a rate. The cost really isn't that much in my mind. The costs I really don't like are for software like 3ds Max or having to replace computer components to keep up with the power curve. Just my two cents.
  13. Maybe I wasn't being descriptive enough. I have done the same as you (I also have the page up and page down keys on my HOTAS). I'm well aware it works. All I have been asking is if it is possible to slow down the rate at which the Engine RPM Handle changes its position (seems a little fast to me: just my opinion).
  14. I still think its possible to slow down the rate at which a key is pressed (I'm pretty sure it can be done through the CH control manager but I've never tried programming scripts for that software). This would also help with trim for those of us who have that on a hat. If any of you testers can find out if the how to change the rate of key presses through the input lua file, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
  15. Yeah, I'm using that wheel for elevator trim currently. Well, maybe when they get the trim tabs working on everything I'll be able to free up the wheel for Engine RPM or it looks like there are plenty of throttle quadrants out there. I may be due one. :D Thanks anyways.
  16. In the lua code there is an area where it defines how much pressing the function changes the value, it doesn't seem to change it though. Tried modifying the keyboard lua file and the lua file for my stick config without any luck. I like my setup over all, putting prop pitch on an axis would be ideal but I'm not in the market for new controllers on this particular issue.
  17. Is there any way to slow down the speed at which I adjust the Engine RPM (other than using the mouse to click and drag it)? I've tried going into the user control fig lua file and adjusting the value there but whatever value I put in doesn't seem to change the speed of the RPM handle in the sim. The reason I'd like to do this is because I do not have an axis to put the RPM handle on and I keep over shooting the value once in the air (not by much 50 to 100 RPMs) but I'd like to be able to hit it dead on :) Thx.

    Old Crow

Its a classic and it's Bud Anderson's 90th this year. Somebody should do it. I would but I have no idea how to skin for DCS. http://www.cebudanderson.com/

    Here's another; first one :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84950&highlight=P-51+paint+schemes
  20. Fair enough, it would be nice :)
  21. Anyone that has ever been in the military knows that Como is key. Try calling in an airstrike without it :helpsmilie: Hopefully someday DCS will figure a way to include a radio application of some kind to their simulation because it'll become more and more important as they implement the digital battle field (DCS World). I'm okay with waiting, which is why I put this in the wishlist
  22. Very true.
  23. Yeah, IVC comes with BMS. I'm not trying to say BMS is better or anything like that. I'm just saying if the guys who mess with old falcon code can get something like that together, then surely the fellas at ED can do the same.
  24. I agree :music_whistling:
  25. Right on. We were trying to get it to work about a year ago and had problems with large flights (6 or more). Speed was there and can attest to this. But if its working now that's good to hear. I still would think having an app that doesn't depend on TS is advantageous (I've been in plenty of flights where TS starts going in and out for no apparent reason and my squadron has a paid for TS server). I'm not trying to bash TARs or anything.
