Haha I had exactly the same! Had to re-fly it as my outcome wasn't so favourable. I finished the mission upside down in the grass which doesn't look good on a YouTube video

I'm a campaigns only guy too, so minimal experience in SAM avoidance in the Viper. The massive start-up and flight time in order to get to this situation limits my desire to practice it. I guess this would be a good time for me to start learning the mission editor and setup a similar situation without the need for all that.

Advice I've been given by people that have succeeded is to come in VERY fast, pre-flare on the run in, cut your throttle, pull a hard right. I can't get this to work at all though and just gave up and hacked it.

Yeah you need to at least switch the jet on before it will trigger the radio check with your flight.

Hey folks, Here's my playthrough of this awesome campaign for those who are curious about how it looks. Definitely my most favourite campaign DLC to date. I've previously only really played A10 and F18 content. I could barely even fly the F16 before starting this, I had just done the tutorial missions (a lot) and watched some YouTube guides. Let me know if there's anything I could do better. At the time of posting this I'm uploading mission 7, with more to follow every couple of days. Steerpoints 21-25 just hit SEQ on the ICP and wait a couple of seconds. Lots of tutorials on YouTube of the finer parts of how to enter the info.

Same issues as above posts. I don't mind it, just a little immersion breaking.

Yep my guess is it seems to render a square around your location and the furthest parts of the square are the diagonal corners, with you looking at the middle of one of the straight edges. Therefore when you turn your head to look at a corner, the distance you are rendering at gets shorter and the contrails (plus other stuff) vanish. Just my uneducated observations, could be wrong.

Replaying this last night and had the same issue. No track sorry, will attempt to get one if I get chance.

@BIGNEWY I've just had the most mind blowing, shimmer and alias free VR flight sim experience that I've ever had. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and fix my issue! I was certain that I had tried SSS off but maybe I didn't or perhaps it also needed a complete DCS restart? Either way, this was the patch my VR experience needed. A salute to you all at Eagle Dynamics.

Hi folks, I have a really strange shadow bug since 2.9 and only when enabling DLSS in VR, when moving my head at certain angles. Switching to any other upscaling mode or disabling upscaling altogether removes the problem... along with the large amount of FPS I gain from DLSS. Changing any other setting does nothing. Anyone else seeing this? My system is a lowly i9 9900K (5ghz), RTX3080, 32GB RAM, Quest 2 via link cable.

I have this too since 2.9. Disabling DLSS fixes it... which seems a bit bad considering how much we all need DLSS right now.

Yeah, if you replay a mission and update the score it will reset the campaign back to that point. That's just DCS working as intended. It really should warn you better first.

Thanks. I think it mostly affects people who fast align their INS and switch to IFA as it relies on GPS updates. This is how I usually start my aircraft. The mission is much more playable with a slow align and NAV setting for the time being.

I couldn't A2A refuel before I spent some time on mission 4. It's well worth learning and really rewarding feeling once you can do it.

Used mine like this since day 1 and after 2 years of frequent use had zero issues with lose cables.

I've found a lot of the missions are like this. They have said they are going to do some work on the scoring system etc going forward.

Thanks, I'm on at least my 10th run and really struggling. I'm slowly getting better at taking them down but mostly due to learning their spawn positions.

I've tried some gun runs but spotting the helos actual location amid the buildings etc at speed is next to impossible. I see the datalink icon location but am shot down if I slow enough to get a visual for gun runs.
